Please click this link to find an organisation to donate help to.

http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/2005/katrina/help.center/

Normally asking for donations is not allowed here.
I think this can be an exception. However, if the ADMIN tells me to delete it I obviously will. In thatc ase I would emplore you to find the information yourselves and please get help to these poor people.

I would hope that in this case it will be allowed, especially since it is not just a specific organization although it is for a specific cause.

I was just informed that Salvation Army in my area is setting up to take a group of volunteers down there to help. Just a thought if anyone is able bodied and can see fit to spare some time to help out.

If it is in your heart and in your pocket to do so give to one of these organizations. There are some sick people out there that are willing to take advantage of this situation by claiming to take donations for Katrina victims when actually they are putting this money in their own pockets. Two people were just caught today outside of a local grocery store here doing just that.

I made this post in another thread - perhaps prematurely...:

I've been trying to get through to the Salvation Army all day and get busy signals and computer timeouts.

The Salvation Army is one of the few charities I trust.  Their administrative costs are the lowest of any major charity.  I learned from their website that you can also make direct donations to them at your nearest Walmart.  That's where I'm headed next.

Salvation Army says a $100 donation will feed a family of four for 2 days, buy a couple of cases of bottled water, and pay for a cleanup kit consisting of buckets, mops, cleaners, etc.

I know there are similar charities - such as the Southern Baptist Convention, Catholic Charities, the Lutherans - all are very active with little overhead costs.

Please give cheerfully - or in my case tearfully because I can't give enough or do enough and our brothers and sisters NEED SO MUCH!...

Please give quickly.  It could save a life....

PS:  Prayers are expected!!!  Angry  Smiley  Grin

God bless all, and God save the folks of the South.

Well another good place to help, those in trouble. My Church will be sending almost 2 tons, of canned food, to Texas. Granted it isn't as much as some of the bigger Churches can do. Our budget, is nowshot, for the rest f the year.

We will be gone, from sunday, till we turn over the food. So Sunday, till I get back, y'all won't see me. Those of us going, will also minister to these poor people. I will also be speaking, about the signs of Jesus's return for the Rapture.

So everyone, get your Churches involved!
Bob

Matthew 25:42-44 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

Resting in the hands, of Jesus.
