Hello JimmySwift,

I just saw All Coulter on the Bill O'Reilly News Show, and I thought that's where she got the public mandate to become an appointee to the Supreme Court. I think that Bill O'Reilly is also on that list. After all, it would be quite appropriate for a member of the Supreme Court to say, "The spin stops here."  Cheesy  UM??, that has a dignified sound to it. That saying would be impressive in an opinion brief.

However, I haven't read their books. I just think they are conservative enough to make the changes we need on the Supreme Court. I think that Bill O'Reilly also likes her, so I doubt that he would have any trouble working for her as the Chief Justice.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hi BEP

Great response!

The only problem I have with what you mentioned, is the notion of Bill O'Reily and his nonsensical tag-line.  I'm not sure who came up with it, but it really doesn't apply in the case of him, or his "news" show.

Because FOX is very much part of the Rupert Murdoch right-wing media, along with papers like the Washington Times, or the New York Post, it is by definition, biased.  So, for O'Reily to constantly be saying that the spin stops here, just doesn't make any sense, because the whole reason his show exists, is to put the conservative spin on things.

cheers,

Jimmy

Exactly! You said it!  But you say it like it's a bad thing!  Cheesy

The reasons you state are also why I enjoy all the good online places, like: WorldNetDaily, CNSNews, American Spectator, Intellectual Conservative, ChristainUnderground, etc., etc.: Because they report what I want to hear about, the way I want to hear it.  That's a GOOD thing.   Smiley

I do monitor the liberal circuses like BBC, CNN, CBS etc., etc so I know what the liberals are spinning - but everytime I read or hear the idiots call a murdering terrorist an 'insurgent or a 'bomber' I want to choke - so I have to keep my monitoring of those sites to a minimum for personal health reasons.

I enjoy and trust conservative reporting.  I distrust liberal anything.

Liberal - conservative:  It's all in ones personal tastes: whatever makes you sleep easiest at night.  Each have bad and good. My tastes run toward the side that most matches my personal values.

Now that we've all managed to steer so far from your original thread question we have almost forgotten what it was...  Grin

Roberts is getting more 'vanilla' to me everyday.  Except for John Kerry needing to get that chin of his on the news again - there's just not enough controversy.  I think conservatives are at least as anxious to know what he 'really thinks' as liberals are.  Should I say it?  Okay - Roberts is boring.  But - maybe judges are supposed to be boring?

Hi folks,

Thanks for all the great replies.

I am somewhat troubled though, as far as all the support for Ann Coulter goes.  Now, I'm a conservative, I think, but I just can't stand Ann Coulter.  She just plain lies in all of her books, and counts on her readers simply beleiving that she is telling the truth, because she is just repeating what she knows her readers think is true.  Its dirty, unethical, and just plain wrong.  Take a look for yourselves at "Slander" for example, and take a few minutes to check-up on some of the stuff she presents as "Fact."  You won't have to look for long to find out that most of what she is saying, simply isn't true.

cheers,

Jimmy

Jim  could you list some of her lies so we can discuss them?

Reba,

Thanks for the question!

I do have to head to bed for now, but I will be happy to write out a full report for you in the next couple of days.  Stay tunned!

Hello JimmySwift,

If you haven't guessed yet, there is some kidding and humor in this thread. If this hasn't become apparent yet, let me add another good nominee for an appointment to the Supreme Court:

Bo Dietl - Maybe you've seen him on various news programs in recent months. WOW! - You talk about conservative, but I don't have a clue about whether he is a Christian or not. He's quite a character.

YES! - I'm interested in whether a nominee is a Christian or not.

Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy  Now, go back and laugh a little with some of the posts in this thread.

I wouldn't back any nominee that didn't have a strong background in Constitutional Law.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hebrews 9:11-12 ASV  But Christ having come a high priest of the good things to come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation, nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption.

Jimmy -
Okay - I guess BEP let the cat out of the bag that there could have been an itsy-bitsy "conspiracy" around and about.  Smiley

It's just so fun to yank your chain!  God bless you, you take it so well!  Grin

However - on subjects other than Ann Coulter's alledged fitness for any judgeship - all else from me are serious posts.  Well, most.  Some.  Maybe.
 Wink

As far as Coulter's "truthfulness" I would say she is the direct opposite of someone like Al Franken.  Is one less truthful that the other?  One spins clockwise, the other counterclockwise.  Since toilets spin clockwise, I personally attribute clockwise spin to Mr. Franken - - if you get my flush.  Grin

God bless,

JudgeNot,

 Grin   Grin

So, what do you think about an appointment of Bo Dietl to the Supreme Court?  At least I think he would be light years ahead of Al Franken.

I used to like Al Franken as a comedian many years ago. In terms of politics, I think Al Franken would be much better as a mime.  Cheesy

I was watching Fox News yesterday. You know one of those talk shows they have (don't remember the name of the hostess of the show). They were talking on this subject I believe. There was a women in the audience that stood up and spoke in a very strong southern accent. She said something to the affect of, Get your heart into America or get your bums out! I'm all for nominating this lady.

Pastor Roger,

Your post reminds me of an animated graphic I made a long time ago. Anyone who wants it, take it and use it however you want.

One of the things that bothers me the most in the last 50 years is America turning her back on God. I'm finding it more difficult by the day to understand why God keeps blessing America. Some wouldn't appreciate some of the things that I'm thinking about, but I really don't care, and I really don't think that Christians should care about the biggest issue I'm thinking about right now.

GOD!

not

Allah

In case anyone is wondering, ONLY One is Almighty God. If someone wants to deduct some of my politically correct points, please do. In fact, I don't want any politically correct points.

If someone thinks that I have any politically correct points, PLEASE!! take them all. I'll stand for JESUS CHRIST - VERY GOD!

Love In Christ,
Tom

Colossians 2:8-10 ASV  Take heed lest there shall be any one that maketh spoil of you through his philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:  for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, and in him ye are made full, who is the head of all principality and power:

John 6:33-35 ASV  For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world.  They said therefore unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.  Jesus said unto them. I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall not hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 10:7-11 ASV  Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.  All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.  I am the door; by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and go out, and shall find pasture.  The thief cometh not, but that he may steal, and kill, and destroy: I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.  I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep.

Hebrews 13:20-21 ASV  Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an eternal covenant, even our Lord Jesus, make you perfect in every good thing to do his will, working in us that which is well-pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
