Earthly Voices

The voices say:

I’m busy right now…
Don’t bother me…
I’d rather not discuss it…
Leave me alone…
Shut your pie hole…
Sorry – I’m in a hurry…
I’m not into that…
Ooooooooookay…

There is a blind man sitting at a table.  In front of him are two glasses; one labeled ‘death’, the other labeled ‘life’.  Of course he can’t read the labels (Duh! He’s blind!).  

In his thirst, he reaches for a glass…  

WE have the chance to guide his hand to the glass labeled ‘life’ or we can stand silently by and let him blindly choose…

The voices say:

It’s just not the right time…
They’ll think I’m one of “them”…
They’ll label me…
They’ll start avoiding me…
Work just isn’t the place…
School isn’t the place…
How about them Cowboys?!
Someone else will tell him…
Surely he already knows…

Lord – strengthen me to speak to my brothers and sisters.  Some are blind and may not make the right choice without my direct intervention.  Jesus; I ask in Your name; guide me to ignore the voices of the earth so I may guide others to You.
