"The Colour of Magic", by Terry Pratchett. I read it yesterday, thought it was hilarious.

I'm reading "Reaper Man" right now. It is an interesting satire/protest of cutbacks and downsizings in the Public service industery. The "big man upstairs" downsizes the "Death" department, and Death go about the world looking for new employment, while the Earth goes crazy, because no one is dying
Terry Pratchett is brilliant! For those who don't know, he is a fant/sci-fi writer. He is like a combination of Voltare (with his biting social satire) and Tolkien (while his unque world where all the stores take place). All of his Novels are in a paralell world (similer to middle Earth) called the "Multiverse, on a planet called "discworld." It is call such because it is not round, like our planet, but flat, like a CD. It does not orbit anything, it flies through space on the backs of four elephants standing on a giant turtle named A'tuin. Where are they going? Only A'tuin knows!
WONDERFULL books! Everyone should go and pick one up next time you are at the bookstore! Great settings, he really wraps you up in Discworld, he is such a clever and witty author! His books are a must read. Had be been born 50 years earlier, I think he would fit right in with the C.S. Lewis and JRR Toilken, and the rest of the Inklings.

For those of you with a imagination deficiency, I present Discworld:

For those of you with a imagination deficiency
I'd say that constitutes about 90% of the active population on this site.

I would have to concur, Sapphire. However, I would dare to venture that out in the real world, the percentage is MUCH higher (especially among Christians)

"Much" higher? It's hard to get "much" higher than 90%. Though I understand and agree with where you're going.

Yeah, that was the point... we as a species seems to have lost the ability to entertain ourselves. Kinda sad.
Commies, I blame them

I think Pratchett's writing style is a little like G.K. Chesterton..."The Ball and the Cross", funny and crazy and also intelligent...
I read Reaper Man, too. And Sourcery, and Eric. I like the ones with Rincewind best; I didn't like the three witches' stories.
