Dreamweaver,

Brother Bob, I like the

JUST SAY NO!

approach. I'll just take some plain black coffee please.

Now hold on a second....we know that coffee use and abuse leads some of our brothers into strange brew (pun intended  Cheesy)

For e.g., have a look at our dear Brother Allinall...

As you can plainly see, he is under the spell of Foldgers  Mountain Roast blend, and appears to have lost all sense of reality...lol   Thinking he can do the backstroke, in a cup, the size of my living room in this caffeinated elixir!

Flee from such, before you too are brought into this percolated pit of dispair!!!!!....Run MAN..........RUN!!!!!

(sorry Kevin, I couldn't resist...lol  Tongue)

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

caffiene IS a drug!  Roll Eyes

Tom, considering you have a propeller on your head, I'm guessing you could do quicker laps around the coffee mug than brother Allinall  Cheesy

I wonder how much I can drink.

That depends on the size of your reservoir.

What about prescription drugs?   I have heard some very scary stories about people taking anti-depressants.

Sometimes these drugs can be helpful for people in severe cases of depression where they are being hospitalized.  They would also be under the care of a psychiatrist and receiving some type of cognitive therapy along with the medications.  Usually the drugs are prescribed in the hospital so that they person can start talking about their problems that are causing the depression.  I can agree with that.

What I can't accept is someone going to their family doctor and complaining they are feeling tired, unwell etc.  The doctor runs a few tests and then tells them "there is nothing wrong with you".  They are handed a prescription for an anti-depressant in the short time of a five minute appointment.  If they are mildly depressed because of situations in their life, a pill isn't going to solve their problems.  For teenagers to be on anti-depressants,  I find that a greater crime.  They will never learn to deal with their problems.  These types of medications have been causing suicidal urges in teenagers.  So does it make sense to take a depressed teenager and put him on pills that make him so depressed that he kills himself?   JUST SAY NO!

Ritalin for children. -  Now that is just as bad.    "Why can't Johnny sit still?"   -  Too much television, too much sugar, not enough discipline.  Why would someone want their child to take something that works as a stimulant in adults and how it works in the child's immature brain is a mystery?

Christians have survived for hundreds of years without anti-depressants and ritalin.  Drug companies are not getting my money.

My $.02......................

I used to be one of those that could drink.......ALOT. (be sure to catch my intentional sarcasm here) Seemingly without effect. Few could tell I even was drinking at all.

Then after Easter (resurection) Sunday service. I spent a nice afternon haveing dinner with family. Then on to a barbeque with friends........Not really sure how much I acctually consumed but it was a key factor in a stupid differance of opinion between my lovely wife and I and resulted inthe early demise of one of my doors in the house. (not to mention the sbsiquent damage to my hand.)

I like beer.......but don't drink anymore. The occational nonalcohalic beer is as far as it goes now.

I too fell into the catigory of "mislead and deceived"

Whats next.....beating my wife......

Here is another way to look at this, and also the example/case in point.......I'm also the youth group leader.

How would this be as an example for the children. Middle school children that are at the age of being most impressionable about drugs and alcohal.

Now and then the Lord hits me up side my skull with a large heavy object to get my attention.

Thank God for coffee......expresso is your friend Grin
