I am hoestly stumped at what to do.

Some one we know befriended Mark when he was in jail and now Mark is our friend too.  Up until the point we started writing letters and visiting him, he had no one.  His wife left him for a married man and when she gave him the devorce pappers, he was devistated.  His friend stopped visiting him.  He suspects that, that is the one having the affair with his wife.  Mark's mom died of MS.  She isn't his real mom, he was adopted.  His "dad" is a deacon at a church and doesn't write or contact him at all.  Now if Mark can't get to court to finalize the devorce he looses everything.  He has no where to go, owns nothing, and hasn't a job.   We have been searching for a place for him to live and buying him things that he needs, but we can't finacially support him or be able to have him everything that he needs for a household.  We just can't afford it.  If someone could please offer some kind of help or just pray for Mark it would be greatfully appreciated, because without some kind of miracle I honestly don't see how this man is going to get on his feet.  His release date is January 5th.  He might get released early in December.

If you would like to  contact me please write to kristin2456@comcast.net

Thank you,
Love in Christ,
Kristen

Kris,

There are many organizations that are fitted to help him out depending on your area.  Salvation Army, Missions, Township offices, Public Aid, various other churches. Check around your area to see what is available. They are all best fitted to help him get back on his feet.

This is a very hard thing for Mark to go through. I am praying for him. It really suprises me that his father isnt doing anything for him. I believe his father should be his primary benefactor.

My dad talked to his dad and he kind of made short talk and then said bye.  His dad isn't his real dad, Mark was adopted.  Mark knew his "dad" ever since he was 11.  He said that his dad was never really that close to him.  The nearest I can figure is that he doesn't care much for Mark because he isn't blood related.  Still you would think that a deacon in a church that cares for strangers would most certainly care for his son.  What Pastor Roger was saying about going to a mission or something.  I could do that if they would help him with a place to live and supply him with things he needs, but I and my family feel that it would be hard to have him go to a shelter.  This man was very depressed and afraid, because he didn't know what he was going to do or how he was going to live.  He is kind of clinging to us right now and I feel that we can't give him the feeling that we are throwing him to the side.

I am praying for the Deacon as well as for Mark. From the sounds of it they both are in need of it.

I understand what you mean about not wanting Mark to feel thrown away. The places that I was talking about have other means of helping Mark besides putting him up in a Mission. They can assist him with getting work, with food for him and a place of his own (not a shared place in a mission). This would help take some of the burden off of your family and help Mark become self sufficient.
