Yes, I had a friend that worked replacing Glass. He had a broken window, I went along to help him. John Wayne was there but the closeset I could get was about 200 feet away. Smiley

Ah! That's a neat story!  Cheesy

I like the idea of him living on a ranch! Sounds right!  Cheesy

Is it available for tourists now?  Huh

I'm trying to get 'em all for my husband! Definitely a labor of love!  Lips Sealed

Now you only need about 200 more to have the complete collection!  Lips Sealed

The theme song to The Quiet Man ( also with Maureen O'Hara?  Smiley), The Isle of Inisfre, is beautiful.   Smiley

We have one John Wayne movie.

McClintock!

I remember reading in one of several books by the noted author, William Manchester, either Memoirs, about his own experiences as a marine in WWII in the South Pacific, or in his major work, American Caesar, about Gen. McArthur, an apparently suppressed story that on a tour once in Hawaii, John Wayne visited a hospital amputee ward, and was booed out.

I've never seen the story anywhere else.
I went back to find the account, it's just several sentences, and couldn't relocate it; but I'm pretty sure it's in one of those two books.  (Manchester wrote also a major biography, I believe, on JFK, in the 60s.)
