God's punishment

Has it occurred to anyone that, perhaps, these three devastating hurricanes have come to Florida as God's punishment for Florida's part in the ballot coup that led to George W Bush's becoming President in 2000? Aren't these hurricanes a sign from God, warning FL that this is not to happen again?

And the other times when Bush wasn't in office?
Or maybe it's a warning to those who have been thinking of voting for Kerry!

Hiya,
It has accured to me that this may be one of God's ways of punishing America, but i doubt it, because we havn't really seen the true punishment that God will dish out on the world in the 7 years of Tribulation...otherwise known as the 70th week of daniel. God promises in His word that we as Christians will endure hardships, temptation, and that in fact we will sin. That's given. we're all sinners, so God allows things to happen in order to show us HIs magnificence, Sovereignty and Power. He also does things in order to draw us to Him. We see in Romans 1:18 that "For the wrath of God is revealed form heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of fmen, who hold to the truth in unrighteousness. Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them: for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that ar emade, even His eternal Power and Godhead: so that they are without excuse." See we'll be without excuse before the ALmighty. Since i'm about to run out of time i'll touch on this subject right quick. Scripture tells us that in the end times there will be these things:
Matthew 24:6-8 And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom and pestilences, and earthquakes in diverse places. All these things are the beginning of sorrows.
We see strange weather patterns now. Check this out. since 1948 we have seen a record number of Hurricanes to hit the US. Before 1948 i believe 34 hurricanes that were named hit the US coast (either coast) and since then from 1948 to 2002 there have been 148 hurricane to hit either coast of the US...we've already had 3 major ones to hit the mainland this year! these are the birth pangs. I'm looking up, but not for His punishment, but for His return! I hope you are too! Time to go get my father...i wish i had more time, but i dont, but i'll ckeck in and continue this at another time...God Bless
In His Service,
Joshua

AMEN JOSHUA - THANKS BROTHER!
"Keep Looking Up" is one of my favorite things to do and think about. I'm ready and waiting. Today or this minute would be a blessing. Until then, I pray that God will use me for HIS WILL and PURPOSE. I want to yield and serve HIM wherever and however HE leads me.
Love In Christ,
Tom

We often forget what a loving God that we have. He stands beside us and will never leave us or forsake us. That is one of his promises. How many times have we felt abandoned and betrayed only to find that in the end when we had felt forsaken the Lord was there.
King David must have felt abandoned when he fasted and prayed for the life of his child. Yet he was willing to accept the punishment for his sin. He prayed and fasted in hopes that the Lord might change his mind. But after his child died he arose and went about his way. He understood why the child died and accepted it.
II Samuel 12
When David had sinned in numbering the people he accepted that he was to be punished and when the prophet asked him what choice he would like for punishment, David was willing to fall on the mercies of the Lord. David was willing to accept the punishment.
II Samuel 24
Saul was rejected for disobedience to the Lord from being king of Isreal. (I Samuel 15) This was his just punishment for not doing what the Lord had said. Saul tried to reason with Samuel saying that he had but God demands strict obedience not halfway. Saul had taken of the spoils to offer to the Lord when the Lord had commanded that it be all destroyed. Saul tried to bend the rules to suit him.
Oftentimes we feel betrayed and alone and wonder why the Lord has forsaken us. Is there sin in our life? Could it be that we are being punished for disobedience? The Lord chastens us for disobedience and punishes us just as we punish our children. We don't love them any less but many of us have heard you don't love me after we have punished a child. When our children disobey we punish them yet we whine and complain that God has forsaken us when in reality we may be getting punishment for not obeying the Lord.
Can you take the whippings that the Lord dishes out? Of course we can if we understand that he is doing it out of a loving heart and that he does it because he doesn't want us falling by the way into something that the enemy has set in our way.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

No. And...no. Why?
Quote
Daniel answered and said: "Blessed be the name of God forever and ever,
to whom belong wisdom and might.
He changes times and seasons;
he removes kings and sets up kings
;
he gives wisdom to the wise
and knowledge to those who have understanding;
he reveals deep and hidden things;
he knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with him.
To you, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
for you have given me wisdom and might,
and have now made known to me what we asked of you,
for you have made known to us the king's matter."

No i dont believe the hurricanes are God's judgement because we have a good president in office. But i do believe they are God's judgement because Bush has told Ariel Sharon that they need to Uproot Jewish Settlements for a palestinian state
Bush and the UN are pressing Ariel Sharon and all Israel is doing is protecting themselves by buidling a wall its crazy to think it would increase terror. What i do find it interesting though is on the day of ROSH HASHANA which is a HIGH HOLY HOLIDAY, is that there were alot of hurricanes on that day on a Wenesday. Rosh Hashana, is a day of Judgement for the Entire World and Rosh Hashana is also the Birthday of the world.
It really is sad because every president wants to build a Palestianian State in Israel and God has said to the Jewish Nation that they are not to sell the land of Israel any land to any foreigner and stranger because God has inscribed His name in Israel as an Eternal Covenanant which is not to be taken lightly or for granted but i do realize no president is a bible scholar but it is up to us believers in Christ to tell any president that wants a murderering ppl (ARABS) (not palestianians) and giving them freely a state inside of Israel there own land by uprooting Jewish Settlements is quite sickening. But if anyone looks in history that goes against Israel in any matter including the USA on this matter there will always be increase of disasters on US LAND. Just like in the Clinton Era, when he made Israel sign the Osolo Peace accords with the Arabs, we saw disaster upon disaster of hurricanes and earthquakes.
