Was thinking about the debate issue at work last night, and it led me to a thought about a possible activity that might be interesting to try.  The "awesome scriptures" thread also made me think of this.

How difficult would it be to have a discussion/debate, not using personal thoughts, but only quoting scripture to convey ones view?  A topic for discussion is set, the questions are asked, and participants may only use quoted scripture to make their point...lol   I bet this would be really hard, but it could be fun too if done correctly.  Maybe short thoughts could be included in the subject lines to help setup the point of the verse, or something like that.

I think it would be impossible to build a debate forum around this idea because scripture does not refute scripture, but perhaps just an excercise or activity in scripture knowledge and understanding not to mention the novelty of it.   I also don't think one could say it wouldn't glorify God.  After all He would be having total say in the thread!   Wink

If nothing else maybe it could shed some light on how to structure a controlled environment for debate like threads should Admin and BEP decide to have a place for it.

Anyhow, anyone interested in somthing like this, or am I just WAY TOO tired from a long nights work and in need sleep again?   Smiley

Symphony, Tigerlilly, and I were working on one of those before the crash. All in good fun and educational, too!  Grin
