Oklahoma Howdy to LMarsh,

These poor people have already been in my prayers, and you are quite right to remind everyone to keep them in our prayers. It's hard to realize how much misery is involved in something like this.

I fast every Saturday eve, and try to check in here sometime before that.  The thread is called "Saturday eve"(hehe, hint hint-- Grin)

Here's something I was reading this morning.  Maybe for Sanjerle, for the wild fire situation, for all of us...

"Let not your heart be troubled.  Ye believe in God; believe also in me." (John...)

...and, in Matthew 21.18...

"Now in the morning as he returned to the city, he hungered.

And seeing a fig tree by the way side, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and he saith unto it,

Let there be no fruit from thee henceforward for ever. And immediately the fig tree withered away.

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How did the fig tree immediately wither away?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do what is done to the fig tree, but even if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea, it shall be done.

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."

These are wonderful words...        Smiley

Good idea to pray for the wildfires, too.

Brothers and Sisters, THANKS!

Prayer is a Blessing from God. In reading the last posts, I was thinking about the joy and encouragement of being able to approach the Throne of Grace in prayer and what it must have been like for the people of the Old Testament. We now have an advocate with the FATHER and HIS HOLY SPIRIT in our hearts.

Each of you are in my prayers daily. I pray that God's Will be done in our lives for HIS Glory. I pray that our times of illness and difficulty in this short life will bring each of us closer to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hello Brothers and Sisters,

I feel lead to say something about prayer. In reading many portions of the Holy Bible, I see and understand that it is not always the Will of God to heal us, relieve our pain, or grant what we ask for in prayer. I think especially of Paul, his request for healing, and how his dependence and relationship with God grew greater and stronger in sickness and adversity. Paul sought the Will of God and obeyed. Paul asked several times and finally understood God's Will. It was then that Paul experienced the greatest joy and peace.

I wanted to say this to encourage you to pray that the Will of God be done in sickness or healing and in life or death. Within HIS WILL is the real peace and joy.

Love In Christ,
Tom
