This is a valid and important question.

It's hard to hear Jesus over so much noise.

A rabbi, burdened by the importance of his work, went into
the synagogue to pray. Falling to his knees, he lamented, "O
Lord, I am nothing! I am nothing!"

Just then a Jewish judge passed by and overhearing the
prayer was moved to join the rabbi on his knees. Shortly, he
too, was crying aloud, "O Lord, I too am nothing! I am
nothing!"

The janitor of the temple, awed by the sight of the two men
praying joined them, crying, "O Lord, I also am nothing! I am
nothing!"

At this, the judge nudged the rabbi and said, "Now look who
thinks he's nothing!"

Who was nothing first?
Who is a better nothing?
Who is a wiser nothing?
Who deserves nothing more?

Matthew 7:6.  Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Revelation 22:14.  Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
 15.  For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Since the question was asked, "who let the dogs out"? I thought of a couple bible verses comcerning "dogs".

I was part way jesting when I asked who let the dogs out... Undecided

anyways..."Give not that which is holy unto the dogs"  is wise counsel...

The following will perhaps clarify why Paul said   "But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes"

These are just a portion of  the instructions from an athiest on how to start contentions in amoung christians...(I did`nt make this up)...and this just happens to be written by a athiest ...but our real enemy is in the camp...and  we need to learn to recognize his tactics ...

A good approach to atheistic evangelism is to release short and infectious ideas into the theistic environment. Even if they don't reproduce -- and they very well might -- they are bound to cause some change. Ideally, these should be no more than a sentence or two long -- something you can remember without having to look up or struggle to put into words.

Here is a good reference of atheistic memes. Put them in your taglines or signatures, drop them here and there into an email, insert them into dialogue where appropriate, spread them wherever you can. The idea is not to convince the Christian that these ideas are true, but to simply drop them into the Christian community and let them proliferate.

If Jesus is the answer, what is the question?

Evolution is both fact and theory. Creationism is neither.

Philosophy is questions that may never be answered.
Religion is answers that may never be questioned.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God."
The wise man tells it to the world.

Man created God in his own image.

If God doesn't like the way I live, let him tell me, not you.

If atheism is a religion, then health is a disease.

If 50 million people believe a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing.

With soap, baptism is a good thing. (Robert Ingersoll)

The invisible and the nonexistent look very much alike.

If I did not know about God and sin, would I go to Hell?

Priest: No, not if you did not know.

Then why did you tell me?

Christian: I'll pray for you.

Atheist: Then I'll pray for both of us.

The hands that help are better far than the lips that pray. (Robert Ingersoll)

Many people would rather die than think; in fact, most do.

People are zealous for a cause when they are not quite certain that it is true.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

There is a time when religion ruled the world. It is known as the Dark Ages. (Ruth Hermence Green)

Sister Shylynne,

I tried to investigate some of those Internet on-line terrorist training camps for atheists. They are nothing but the devil working over-time to find ways of creating doubt and division for the BODY OF CHRIST. This negative influence slows the work of Christians pointing the lost to Christ.

We should all know there are lots of things that slow the work of Christians pointing the lost to Christ.

Brother Ollie,

I got serious also, and I firmly believe it is never a mistake to share some beautiful portions of Scripture. So, I would like to share some Scriptures I am reflecting on right now.

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Ephesians 4:32  And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 6:10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Philippians 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Colossians 3:17  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Love In Christ,
Tom

yes, and I dare say a list instructions on how to start contentions amoung christians could easily be formed from the threads here...

I think this article makes some interesting statements...

What Church Do You Go To?

By Stan Thompson

This common question has always been difficult for me to answer. The questioner is seeking the name of a human organization around which I gather with other Christians. Though I enjoy the fellowship of gathering with believers, I do not belong to a human organization, and Christ is the only name I gather to.

It is not that I wish to divide myself from others who have put their trust in the blood of Christ alone for eternal salvation. In fact, it is quite the opposite. If I were to claim membership with one human organization, I would thereby be dividing myself in name from believers who claim membership to all other human organizations.

It is not that I see myself as superior to other Christians. It is simply a matter of obedience to what I see from God’s Word:

The only spiritual organization in the New Testament is the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:4).

The only membership in the New Testament is membership into the one body (1 Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:13; Acts 2:41-47).

The only Name to which New Testament Christians gathered was to Christ (Matt. 18:20).

The only names of identity sanctioned by the New Testament are those common to all Christians: "believers" (Acts 5:14), "disciples" (Acts 9:1), "Christians" (Acts 11:26), "saints" (Eph. 1:1) and "brethren" (Phil. 4:1).

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you [all] overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after themselves. So be on your guard!

Paul, to the elders of the assembly in Ephesus
Acts  20:28-31
