Hello-this is my first time here.  I am a homemaker and have 3 children-boy-7, girl-5, boy-3.  The book that keeps me sane is "To Train Up A Child"  (author-Pearl).  I am married and have been a Christian since I was 19.  I had to make a lot of changes since I was already living in the world.  I still struggle, but enjoy seeing the results from living right.  We have an excellent church that is active in serving God and that has helped me more than anything.  My husband is an Officer in the guard and I am curious to know if there are any others in the forum that are having to deal with the issues that have come up since this war started.

Oklahoma Howdy to Leaf,

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite. You asked about issues that effect us since the war began in Iraq. My son is on the aircraft carrier Nimitz, and they served nearly 10 months there. The Nimitz is back to the states, but who knows when or if it will go back. As a father and grandfather, it feels strange for my son to be protecting me, instead of the reverse. I would hope that every Christian prays for our men and women serving this country every day, regardless of whether they have an immediate family member serving.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Thank you for ALL the warm welcomes!  I know it takes time and effort to reply to so many "newbies" and I appreciate all the warm replies!  I feel like I have made a new family of friends!  I will enjoy reading the forum and have added it to my list of favorites!  In response to Tom, yes please do pray for our soldiers.  It hits close to home-and thank you for praying.  We can make a difference in the protection of our people!

Welcome, Leaf!

It sounds as though you have your hands full with three little ones and a husband.  Hopefully, all is going smoothly, or should I say as smoothly as possible. Grin

My cousin is in the Army.  Not the easiest of times.  He decided years ago, when the political climate was calm, that he would make a career of it.

Well I hope u join in on the many faith building conversations.

Your brother in Christ,

Tony

My hands are quite full-but not as full as they were when they were in diapers or potty training!  I would not say marriage is smooth for us-I would say it has its ups and downs.  Right now he is debating about taking a leave for 18 months to go to Iraq to help.  This is when I am learning alot about faith and how to really trust God.  I did not expect to have to deal with certain issues at 29, but I have had to mature quickly!  The decision will be made soon.

Leaf,

God has this unique way of giving us guidance, of which I am very thankful.... I will be praying that He gives it to you and your husband in this situation!

In Prayer,
Your Brother in Christ,
