The Spanish Guardia Civil frees a minor from the house of a jihadist in the Belgian town of Verviers

The Guardia Civil has located and freed an underage Spanish girl who disappeared earlier this month from the home of a 34-year-old jihadist in the town of Verviers (Belgium, population 55,000) who had captured her, indoctrinated her with terrorist material and allegedly wanted to send her to a conflict zone, according to a statement released this morning by the armed unit, which did not give details of the minor’s regular whereabouts or age. The man was arrested.

The young woman had left her parents’ home for Belgium on July 2, “accompanied by persons belonging to a suspected terrorist recruitment organisation based in that country”, according to the investigation by the Guardia Civil’s information service in the fight against jihadist radicalisation. The family knew nothing about the child’s fate.

The travel allegedly culminated in a first phase of indoctrination, during which the man with Belgian nationality had “constantly” sent propaganda material of a terrorist type to the minor in order to radicalise her.

A former Saudi spymaster described Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, who the US says sent a hit squad to kill and dismember Washington Post writer Jamal Khashoggi, as a “psychopath” whose immense wealth makes him a threat to the United States and other countries around the world — as President Biden prepares for a much-anticipated meeting with the monarch later this week.

Saad Aljabri, once the number two official in Saudi intelligence, said the crown prince runs a vicious gang of mercenaries called the “Tiger Squad” that he uses to carry out kidnappings and killings, including the murder of Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018.

Hate Crime: Arabs Burn Synagogue in Hebron Area, Again

Arabs set fire to a synagogue at Mitzpe Ziv on Tuesday night and severely damaged it, the latest attack by locals on the Jewish house of worship.

The synagogue of Mitzpe Ziv, situated a few kilometers south of Kiryat Arba, was set on fire probably with a burning tire that was thrown into the building and which ignited the furniture, causing significant damage to the place.

Interfaith Love Between Sikh Man And Muslim Woman Triggered The 'Hate Attack' On Gurudwara Priest In Alwar

On Thursday night (21 July), a former granthi (priest) of a gurudwara was attacked by five men in what is being seen by the Sikh community as a religious hate crime in the Alwar district of Rajasthan.

The attackers, believed to be Muslims, cut the Sikh man’s hair before letting him go. Victim Gurbaksh Singh is a resident of Milakpur village in Alwar’s Ramgarh tehsil.

In his statement recorded in the first information report (FIR) filed in the case, Singh said he went to the adjoining Alawada village to buy some medicines at around 7.30 pm.

On his return, a man on the road signalled him to stop, saying that a Sikh man was lying injured. As Singh stopped his motorcycle, the man, joined by four others, held him by his neck. Two of them were carrying knives. They threw chilli powder in his eyes and covered his eyes with a cloth.

Christian Killed after Open-Air Event in Uganda

NAIROBI, Kenya, July 25, 2022 (Morning Star News) – A Christian in eastern Uganda died on July 10 from head injuries sustained in an attack by Muslim extremists the previous week, sources said.

Robert Bwenje had accompanied Assistant Pastor Ambrose Mugisha of Elim Pentecostal Church in Nyamiringa village, Kapeke Sub-County, Kiboga District, to an open-air debate about Christianity and Islam in Sirimula village, Kyankwanzi District on July 6.

Following the debate, eight Muslims including two women put their faith in Christ, said Pastor Mugisha, 25.

2 Muslim brothers pose as Hindus, desecrate mazaars to stir communal tension in UP's Bijnor

LUCKNOW: Two brothers -- Mohammad Adil and Mohammad Kamal -- were held on Monday on charges of desecrating and vandalising three mazaars (shrines) to vitiate communal atmosphere during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra in Bijnor district of western UP.

Both the men were spotted donning saffron turbans and destroying over 100 years old ‘Mazaars’ — Dargah Bhure Shah Baba and Jalalshah Baba along with Qutub Shah’s tomb — in Bijnor’s Sherkot area on Sunday evening. They also set on fire the ‘chaadar’ offered on the tomb.

As per the highly-placed sources, both Adil and Kamal were being grilled by sleuths of the UP Anti-Terrorist Squad, Intelligence Bureau and Special Task Force to find out their motive behind the mischief. “A big communal conspiracy was prevented on July 24 under Sherkot Police Station limits. The district police got the information was received about two people ransacking Jalal Shah Mazar and burning several ‘chadar’,” said ADG (Law and order) Prashant Kumar.

For two years, 19-year-old Julien Videlaine and Nuzan U., a young woman of Kurdish descent of the same age, had been living a secret love affair. When her father surprised her in July 2014, he stabbed the young man with 19 knives and fled to Turkey. He was extradited to France in 2018 and will stand trial at the Beauvais jury court in September.

The 19-year-old French-Algerian Julien Videlaine and the Kurdish-born Nuzan U., who had been a couple for almost two years, had met in 2012 outside the Marie Curie high school in Nogent-sur-Oise. The football-loving student was in his final year at the time and was preparing to join the army as a mechanic at the Creil (Oise) military base the next year. She was preparing for a diploma as a beautician. The two are immediately attracted to each other and their relationship quickly develops into a serious one.

Abuse survivor's ordeal sheds light on Malaysia 'unilateral conversions'

Malaysian woman Loh Siew Hong says her husband brutally abused her, battering her over the head and breaking her ankle, before running off with their children and converting them to Islam.

After a long legal battle, Loh was finally reunited with her 14-year-old twin daughters and 11-year-old son in February when a court ruled in her favour.

But the ordeal has taken a heavy toll.

"It was torture for me," the 35-year-old told AFP of the long period separated from her children.

"I used to wonder whether my children had enough food and enough sleep. I used to worry whether my ex-husband was beating and torturing them like he used to do to me."

Hezbollah: ‘We are close to defeating the Israelis by land and sea’

Lebanon-based Hezbollah issued a fresh threat against Israel on Monday amid U.S.-mediated indirect negotiations between Jerusalem and Beirut aimed at resolving a longstanding maritime border dispute.

According to a report by Lebanese news site Naharnet, the head of Hezbollah’s executive council, Sayyed Hashem Safieddine, stated: “We are close to defeating the Israelis by land and by sea if we want to, and we will decide when to do it.”

Speaking in the southern Lebanese town of Kfarkela, Safieddine qualified that while Hezbollah does not desire war with Israel, it is prepared for one.

London-based, pro-ISIS preacher calls for jihad against Israel

London-based, pro-Islamic State (ISIS) preacher Anjem Choudary published on his blog and Telegram channel an article in English titled, “Israeli Crimes Against Muslims in Palestine Will Come to an End!”

According to a report by MEMRI’s Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor and shared with JNS, the article highlighted what he described as the “massacres” committed by Israeli forces against Muslim Palestinians over the years and called on Muslims around the world to ignore proposed political solutions to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Instead, he called on Muslims to join the ranks of jihad to end the suffering of the Palestinians.

Sar tan se juda’ slogan surfaces again after MP college student's killing

A college student's body was recovered from the railway tracks in Obaidullaganj town in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district on Sunday (July 24), hours after his father received a text message with the words ‘sar tan se juda’.

Madhya Pradesh Police discovered the corpse of the third-year college student, identified as Nishant, on the railway tracks near Obaidullaganj town on Sunday evening. They have ruled out foul play for now.

The victim’s father had received a WhatsApp message from his son’s mobile saying, “Gustakh-e-Nabi ki ek saza, sar tan sey zuda [Beheading is the only punishment for those who insult Prophet Muhammad].”

Iranian mother sentenced to 100 lashes for protest against murder of son

Iran’s clerical regime last week sentenced Mahboobeh Ramezani to 100 lashes for her reported peaceful protest as part of the “Mothers of Justice” campaign against the murder of her son by the Islamic Republic and her opposition to the mandatory hijab.

Ramezani has been tirelessly campaigning to secure justice for her son Pejman Gholipur, who was killed by the theocratic state in 2019 for his role in nationwide demonstrations against rising fuel prices.

Mahboubeh Remezani said to the regime: “You know well that you are demolished by Aban and [the] Aban [movement] continues, unless you kill all of the Aban families, just like what you did to our children.”

28 migrant workers killed in Jammu and Kashmir since 2017: Centre

Twenty-eight migrant workers, including seven from Bihar, were killed in Jammu and Kashmir since 2017, the Central Government informed the Parliament on Tuesday.

In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai also said there has been a substantial decline in the number of terrorist attacks in Jammu and Kashmir -- from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021. However, he said, there have been a few targeted attacks on people belonging to minority communities and migrant workers by terrorists sponsored from across the border.
