Biden: ‘We’ve rebuilt ties with Palestinians, restored some $500 million in aid to PA’
July 10 2022
The Biden administration has “rebuilt ties” with the Palestinian Authority and restored some $500 million in aid to it “without permitting terrorists to rearm,” U.S. President Joe Biden wrote in an op-ed published on Saturday night in The Washington Post.
The article comes ahead of the American leader’s July 13-16 trip to the Middle East, which will see him travel to Israel and Saudi Arabia, with a stop in Bethlehem to meet with Palestinian officials.
“In Israel, we helped end a war in Gaza—which could easily have lasted months—in just 11 days. We’ve worked with Israel, Egypt, Qatar and Jordan to maintain the peace without permitting terrorists to rearm,” Biden wrote in reference to the May 2021 conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Rashida Tlaib urges Biden to get names of IDF troops from Abu Akleh shooting
By MICHAEL STARR
Published: JULY 10, 2022 12:27
During his trip to Israel, US President Joe Biden should obtain the names of soldiers involved in the operation in which Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed, US Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib said in a statement on Friday.
"During his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, President Biden must obtain the names of the soldiers responsible for killing Shireen, along with that of their commanding officer, so that these individuals can be fully prosecuted for their crimes by the Department of Justice," Tlaib wrote.

Yemen: Houthi govt condemns 'Al-Qaeda's demolition' of ancient mosque in Hudaydah
July 10, 2022 at 1:05 pm
Officials in Yemen's Houthi-led government have spoken out against the demolition of an ancient mosque in the province of Al-Hudaydah on Saturday, blaming "Al-Qaeda" elements.
The Sanaa-based General Authority for Awqaf (Endowments) have condemned the destruction carried out to parts of the historic Al-Noor Mosque in the Al-Qataba area, north of the Al-Khokha district.
The authority blamed the attack on Al-Qaeda elements, said to be led by a member of the Saudi-established Presidential Leadership Council, Abu Zara'a Al-Maharami.
The mosque dates back 700 years comes after a similar attack in May against the Al-Qataba Mosque in the same area, attributed to joint Saudi and Emirati-led coalition forces.

Prestwich man jailed for arranging an assault following dog dispute
By Chris Jaffray
A man has been jailed for his role in an attack with a neighbour following a dispute about a dog in Prestwich.
Manchester Minshull Street heard the mother of Mohammed Rafiq and Amand Rafiq had a dog which kept going into the neighbours.
The partner of the daughter of the woman next door, John Hartley, was contacted and a meeting was arranged to sort the problem out.
But the brothers recruited Ihtshaam Farooq and Shirjeel Choudry to carry out an attack on him.
When they met up on Windsor Road, Mr Hartley was knocked to the round and stamped on.

by Hillary Lisimba
As Muslims around the world celebrate Eid ul-Adha, a Ugandan sheikh has prevailed upon devotees to celebrate in a way that does not go against Allah’s principals.
According to Masaka main mosque Imam Sheikh Abas Nsera, there is an upsurge in the number of muslims who are being lured into eating pork and consuming its products.

Iran switches to advanced centrifuges for uranium enrichment — IAEA
July 9 2022
A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) found that Iran is changing the process of uranium enrichment at its underground Fordo plant.
Iran has informed the UN agency that the country is using IR-6 centrifuges with "modified subheaders," the IAEA told DW on Saturday. According to Iran, the declared purpose of the enrichment process is to create uranium isotope enriched up to 20%.
This remains well below the 90% enrichment level that is needed to create weapons-grade uranium.
The special subheaders that are now in use allow for easier and faster switching to higher purity levels.

Pakistani journalist claims he had spied on India during visits, was invited by Hamid Ansari and passed information to Pak Army
11 July, 2022
On July 10, Pakistani Journalist and YouTuber Shakil Chaudhary published an interview with Pakistani Journalist Nusrat Mirza who claimed he spied on India and handed over the information he had gathered during his visits to India between 2005 to 2011.
During the interview, Chaudhary asked Mirza if India was an existential threat to Pakistan and why Pakistan did not have experts on India. His statement irked Mirza, who went on boasting about himself and how he was an expert on India. He said he travelled to India five times. In 2005, he visited Chandigarh, followed by Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai 2006. On another trip, he covered Kolkata, Patna, and other places.

Turkey Seeks to 'Bury' the 'Current Byzantines'
Jul 12, 2022
Raymond Ibrahim
Last May 29, 2022 in Istanbul and other cities in Turkey, elaborate celebrations were held to commemorate the 569th anniversary of the Islamic conquest of Constantinople in 1453. During these neo-Ottoman celebrations, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan declared that “As our ancestors buried Byzantium, let us hope that today, by building our vision for 2053, we also manage to put in the time warp of history the current Byzantines who are plotting against us.”
In order to understand the troubling significance of this otherwise cryptic remark—most Westerners are today totally unaware of the history between Muslim Turkey and Christian Byzantium—some background is necessary.
Towards the end of the first millennium, the Turks, whose origins lay in the steppes of Asia, had become Muslim and began to raid and conquer portions of Asia Minor, which was then and had been for a millennium Greek and Christian. By the end of the 14th century they had conquered it entirely and began eying Constantinople, just across the Bosporus. Although generations of Turks repeatedly besieged it, it would fall to Muhammad II (or “Mehmet”), Erdoğan’s hero.

Less materialism, more introspection: 'Son of Hamas' begins new chapter
By Dana Ben-Shimon
07-11-2022 10:44
At age 44, Mosab Hassan Yousef, who famously helped Israel thwart Hamas terrorist attacks during the Second Intifada by working as an informant for the Shin Bet security agency, is trying to heal the trauma of the past and break free of the labels he has been assigned over the years.
Until a few years ago, Yousef, who is known as the "Green Prince," was living the American dreams, with wealthy friends, luxury apartments, a Porsche, beach parties, and occasional drugs. Along the way, he turned his back on his religion and converted to Christianity.
After his first book "Son of Hamas," was published, as well as a documentary detailing his work for the Shin Bet, Yousef also became a sought-after lecturer in Europe and the United States. Thousands filled the events he would speak at, eager to hear what this special man had to say.

Dutch Intelligence Investigates Politician Filip Dewinter for Mentioning the 'Great Replacement'
Amy Mek
July 11, 2022
Dutch Counter-Terrorism and Security (NCTV) is opening an investigation into Vlaams Belang member of Parliament Filip Dewinter due to his comments on the Great Replacement theory (when a new migrant population, mainly Islamic, replaces a native population) on Television. “With this, not only is democratic debate on the topic of repopulation prevented but also criminalized,” states Dewinter. “Therefore, I will ask the Dutch government not to conduct this investigation.”
The Dutch left-wing state secretary for Culture and Media, Gunay Uslu (D66 party), ordered the Coordinator for NCTV to open an investigation into Dewinter. The investigation follows the politician’s May 10, 2022, television appearance where he discussed his most recent book, Omvolking – De Drote Vervanging (Repopulation – The Great Replacement)

The Turkish child who grew up to hate Europe
Giulio Meotti
Jul 12, 2022, 9:59 AM GMT+3
You are not the son of a Bank of Italy manager like Mario Draghi, of a neurology professor like Emmanuel Macron, of a CDU politician like Ursula Von Der Leyen, of a ministerial executive like Pedro Sánchez, of an academic like Magdalena Andersson or of a European commissioner like Charles Michel, just to name a few European leaders.
No, you are the son of a poor, overbearing sailor whose shoes you kissed to display respect and who, when you offended a neighbor, hung you from the ceiling as punishment; you are a child who was selling bread and lemons on the street corners of the popular and infamous Kasimpasa neighborhood in Istanbul, where as a boy you were already known as the "Big Brother," you who would become the head of the Muslim Brotherhood.

Staying could mean death. The escape nearly killed her. How one woman fled Afghanistan for freedom.
Fatema Hosseini and Kim Hjelmgaard with Kelley Benham French
Mon, July 11, 2022 at 11:43 a.m.
KABUL, Afghanistan – Every time I blinked awake, I would meet my mother’s eyes. My father, my brother and my baby sister were all asleep, sprawled across the floor in my dark apartment on the west edge of Kabul.
They had fled just before the Taliban ransacked their home in Herat, and now we were together for one more dusty sunrise. The Taliban had not yet knocked on my door, but we knew they would, the same way we knew that summer was cruel and the sky was brown and our freedoms were all a mirage.
I was 27, a bad Muslim, an educated, single woman who asked too many questions and rarely wore a hijab. I was a working journalist, a member of the Shi’a Hazara ethnic group, daughter of an Afghan national soldier. To a Taliban fighter heady with new power, silencing my voice would be a gleaming, golden step on the stairway to paradise.
In my dreams, which came every night now, I had tried to fight. I had tried to run. And at last, I’d pushed my way through chaos and smoke, crushed by crowds in a desperate surge toward the airport. Hands grabbed at me. Women were crying. Bullets hammering.
“What is it?” my mother said when I startled awake again. She had been up all night, watching over me.

Gen Z rejects Turkey’s ruling AKP with 80 percent opposition
Jul 10 2022 04:07 Gmt+3
Last Updated On: Jul 11 2022 08:21 Gmt+3
Some 80 percent of Turkey’s Gen Z, those born after 2000, say they will not vote for the ruling Justice and Development Party, according to a study by Gezici Research.
Gen Z will make up 11.8 percent of Turkey’s voting adult population by the time the June 2023 elections roll around.
“They do not approve of dictating, imperious or harsh language from politicians,” Gezici Research chairman and international security expert Murat Gezici told daily Cumhuriyet on Sunday.
An “overwhelming majority” of young people say they will vote for the opposition’s Nation Alliance if the presidential election goes to the second round, Gezici said. “Because they see the government as more oppressive and controlling.”

MINNEAPOLIS IMAM SAID TO BE RECOVERING AFTER BEING STABBED INSIDE HIS MOSQUE
July 10, 2022
Twin Cities Muslim leaders say a man with a history of mental illness stabbed an imam inside his Minneapolis mosque this week.
Jaylani Hussein, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations Minnesota said Imam Awil Adan suffered head and arm injuries, and could have been killed had another person at the Khalid Binu Walid Center on West Lake Street not intervened. Hussein said the imam is at home recovering.
Hussein said the alleged attacker is a danger to himself and others in the Somali-American community.

*****Although I completely disagree with Islam, I'm against the stabbing of this guy, even though Muslims stab, maim and kill others. I've come to expect muslims who will maim, stab, or kill other muslims, simply over a disagreement*****
