Iran’s president vows to continue nuclear activities

President Ebrahim Raisi said Saturday that Iran will continue nuclear development activities as talks to revive Tehran’s nuclear deal with world powers remain stalled, state media reported.

Speaking in a ceremony marking Iran’s national day of nuclear technology, the hard-line president said his administration will support an acceleration in research of peaceful nuclear technology.

“Our knowledge and technology in the nuclear field is not reversible. Iran’s [continuation of] research in peaceful nuclear fields will not depend on others’ demands or viewpoints,” said Raisi, who came to power in August.

Imran Khan was ousted from his position as prime minister of Pakistan after 174 legislators voted against him in a no-confidence motion early on Sunday morning.

The vote came after the speaker of the house resigned, saying he could not oversee the ouster of his close ally of 30 years, and after Khan's own lawmakers delayed the vote all Saturday, only allowing voting close to midnight. Before discussion of the vote began, all of Khan's allies walked out of the chamber.

About a hundred Palestinian Arab rioters entered Joseph's Tomb overnight, smashed the tombstone marking the grave of the Biblical figure, and set multiple fires at the site.

Arab rioters had previously caused extensive arson damage to the site in 2015, after which the Samaria Regional Council sent its own teams to restore and renovate the holy site.

The death of Jewish man Jérémy Cohen has become a flashpoint in France’s presidential election, with President Emmanuel Macron’s rivals pointing to the man’s death as the latest evidence of a France that is becoming increasingly dangerous under his tenure.

Macron has struggled to respond after harrowing video of Cohen’s death was reportedly leaked by the victim’s father. The 30-year-old was violently attacked by a large group of youths in mid-February, and then in his attempt to run away, was struck by a tram in Bobigny in the Paris suburbs. The area is known as a “lawless” zone and features one of the highest concentrations of Middle Eastern migrants in France. Although it has not been proven whether the attack was antisemitic, the man was described as nearly always wearing his yarmulke, and even sleeping with it on, according to friends and family.

A Chicago woman has been charged with a hate crime for attacking a Jewish bartender with antisemitic abuse and a cocktail glass, CWB Chicago reported.

On Wednesday, prosecutors filed a hate crime charged against CVS pharmacy manager Sara Abdulrasoul who is accused of using antisemitic language and throwing a cocktail glass at a River North bartender at 2:30 a.m. on November 7, 2021.

The incident, which occurred at The Underground bar, started when Abdulrasoul, 30, began talking with the bartender and allegedly demanded that she remove her Star of David Necklace. Abdulrasoul called the Jewish bartender a derogatory term and then used “offensive and virulently antisemitic language” to demand that she remove her necklace, Assistant State’s Attorney Loukas Kalliantasis said.

Politician who denounces an imam’s inflammatory sermons is threatened with murder and rape

“Idon’t understand this smear campaign,” said Isabelle Surply, a councillor (formerly RN) in Saint-Chamond (Loire), in an interview with Le Figaro newspaper published on Friday April 8. More than a month after she denounced the radical sermons of an imam in a mosque in the town, she continues to be the subject of a defamation complaint by the Conseil départemental du culte musulman and the target of threats. Following this complaint, she had been summoned to a voluntary hearing on March 4. “It seemed clear to me that the criminal file was blank and that after this interview there was a possibility that the case would be dropped,” she explains. This was nevertheless summoned before the investigating judge, who “considered” her indictment.

“I have only denounced dangerous sermons which the Minister of the Interior himself has described as unacceptable,” she outraged to the newspaper Le Figaro.

What do you call it when government authorities side with anti-Semitic bigots and label those trying to monitor such extremists as bigots, and warn them that if they continue their work, they’ll be subjected to legal action? That’s the sort of thing you might expect in an authoritarian nation where Jews are subjected to informal or official discrimination, and where democratic values are either under attack or already extinguished.

Yet that is exactly what happened in New York this past week when that state’s Attorney General Letitia James issued a “cease and desist notification” to the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT). The letter addressed to the IPT’s Steven Emerson warned it not to “spy on Muslim houses of worship, Muslim advocacy groups and prominent Muslim leaders.” Such activity, she said, “could violate the New York Civil Rights Law, and other state and federal laws.”

Pope Francis, a leading advocate of Doormat Christianity, is at it again, trying to reverse nearly two millennia of Christian doctrine, by preaching total passivity—even against violent aggression.

On March 18, 2022, Francis declared before an audience that “A war is always—always!—the defeat of humanity, always. We, the educated, who work in education, are defeated by this war, because on another side we are responsible.”

So far, all well and good, if only because such lofty but impotent words are expected.

But then Francis went so far as to say that, “There is no such thing as a just war: they do not exist!”

On Monday, April 11, local Hindu worshippers caught a youth red-handed vandalizing an idol of a deity placed in a Shiv temple in the Titawi village in Baghara Block in Muzaffarnagar District of Uttar Pradesh. The accused has been identified as Yakub, the son of Azgar. Angry locals caught hold of Yakub, who was trying to flee after vandalizing the idol, and handed him over to the police. The police have taken Yakub into custody and started an investigation into the case.

Newsroompost took to Twitter to share a video of the same incident, wherein a part of the broken idol can be seen thrown on the floor of the temple. A broken board with Goddess Kali mantras written on it can also be seen in the video.

Seattle media won’t report accused murderer says ‘Allah’ inspired grisly crime

Police say Tyrone Bernard Wells admitted to brutally murdering his girlfriend in Shoreline. While Seattle media outlets were quick to detail the gruesome details of the murder, which included the use of a hatchet, bolt cutters, and a set of drums, local journalists refused to report the motive.

Court documents reveal that Wells told police that he was awake for days, recently took meth, and read the Quran. These details were missing from the video reports from KOMO 4, KIRO 7, KING 5, and FOX 13. Meanwhile, the Seattle Times falsely claimed that “charges don’t provide a motive”.

He is known for various offences, was twice sentenced to a five-year and three-year ban from living in France, and one day even tried to force his way into the reception centre in order to obtain a passport for Chad, where he claims to be from. However, the country does not officially recognise him as one of its nationals. […] He approached another homeless man that day who was talking to a friend on a bench, pulled a paving stone out of his pocket, threw it in his direction and then threw a second one.

When his victim asked him for an explanation, he pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the chest, shouting “Allah akbar”.
