Cyprus charges six with terror for alleged plot to kill five Israelis

Cypriot authorities filed charges Friday against six suspects for allegedly planning to attack Israeli targets on the eastern Mediterranean island.

Among those charged was the main suspect, Orkhan Asadov, a 38-year-old Azerbaijani national. He and three Pakistanis indicted in the case are accused of plotting to visit Cyprus to commit acts of terror.

All but one of the suspects allegedly planned to kill five Israelis who live in Cyprus, according to the Politis daily

Taken in small quantities, it can be used as a sexual stimulant. Fabien Azoulay was accused of buying a can of GBL on the internet and bringing it to his hotel while he was in Turkey to get hair implants. According to his lawyers, he did not know that the product was banned in that country. “I bought a two-litre canister – that was the minimum order – just for fun,” he says. Fabien Azoulay was then imprisoned for four years.

Iran's supreme court in the capital of Tehran has upheld death sentences for adultery against a 27-year-old and his 33-year-old lover after the man's father-in-law denied them clemency.

The man's wife, who presented police with video evidence of her husband's infidelity early this year, had asked the courts to spare the pair the death penalty, the Shargh Daily said.

Yet her father demanded that the death sentence be imposed and the court found in his favour, the paper added

Video Shows Taliban Using Remnants Of Bamiyan Buddhas For Target Practice

A video recorded recently in Afghanistan shows Taliban gunmen using the remnants of the Bamiyan Buddhas for target practice.

The video is raising serious concerns about a pledge by the Taliban leadership to protect Afghanistan's cultural and historical treasures.

Posted on social media, it shows members of the Taliban firing rocket-propelled grenades into one of the niches where giant Buddha statues had stood for more than 1,400 years until the Taliban reduced them to rubble in 2001.

An environmental activist was sexually assaulted and threatened with rape by the Iranian authorities as part of the Islamic state's brutal crack-down on a popular uprising in 2019, an international human rights tribunal will hear.

Fatemeh Khoshrou was among tens of thousands of ordinary men, women and teenagers who took part in spontaneous demonstrations across Iran in protest at rising cooking gas prices, that became known as 'Bloody November'.

But the 32-year-old environmentalist was sexually assaulted, threatened with rape and forced to confess on TV that she was an American spy after she was arrested by the fanatical Revolutionary Guards in her home town of Khorramabad.

Once again, DITIB board members are attracting attention with anti-Semitic and unconstitutional Facebook postings. The national association regrets the comments and distances itself.

It is the comments of individuals. But the Facebook postings by board members of the DITIB mosques in Osnabrück, Hildesheim and Hanover raise questions. Researchers from the Göttingen Institute for Democracy Research found the posts in random samples on social networks

Paris court hands life sentence to murderer of Holocaust survivor

(JTA) — A French court sentenced a man to life in prison for what it termed the antisemitic murder of a Holocaust survivor in Paris in 2018.

The murderer of Mirelle Knoll, Yacine Mihoub, will be eligible for parole in 22 years, according to the ruling Wednesday by the Criminal Tribunal of Paris, AFP reported. An accomplice of his, Alex Carrimbacus, was sentenced to 15 years for theft aggravated by a hate crime for their actions in 2018.

The charred body of Mireille Knoll, 85, was discovered in her apartment on March 23, 2018. Knoll, who escaped deportation to a Nazi death camp when French police rounded up Jews in Paris in 1942, was stabbed 11 times before her apartment was set ablaze by the perpetrators

Islamic religious teacher sentenced for sex crimes was hired to teach Quran to kids

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An Islamic religious teacher convicted in Fort Bend County for sexually abusing three children has been sentenced to 35 years in prison.

Mohamed Omar Ali, 61, was found guilty by a jury in late October on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child.

Algerian immigrant attacks two policemen with a knife in Cannes shouting “Allah is great!”

An Algerian who on Monday attacked a police patrol in the French city of Cannes with a knife and who said he was acting on behalf of the prophet Muhammad was neutralized by shots by the agents and is “between life and death,” said the French Minister of the Interior. Gérald Darmanin.

The 37-year-old aggressor is called Lakhdar B *, and he arrived in France in 2016. The Anti-Terrorist Prosecutor’s Office has not considered that the investigation is within its competence, he explained. Darmanin in statements to the press outside the Cannes police station where the events took place.

Biden's Disastrous Decision to Remove Houthis From FTO List Blasted After Latest Incident in Yemen

Houthi rebels breached the compound in Yemen that housed the American Embassy, which has been closed during the country’s civil war, taking Yemeni employees of the U.S. government hostage.

According to the State Department, the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen and his main staff have been working from the American Embassy in Saudi Arabia since February 2015 due to the ongoing conflict. However, there are still some Yemeni staff that worked from home or as security guards at the compound, Bloomberg reports.

While the State Department said Thursday that a "majority" of hostages that had been detained were released, there are still embassy staff that "continue to be detained without explanation."

At Least Two Killed In Blast At Eastern Afghan Mosque

At least two people have been killed and more than a dozen wounded in a blast inside a mosque in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar, officials say.

The explosion occurred during Friday Prayers in the village of Tarela in Nangarhar's Spin Ghar district on November 12.

Local officials who spoke on condition of anonymity said at least two people were killed in the blast caused by a bomb planted inside the mosque.
