IN BRIEF
Hillary: Poster Child of Russian Conspiracy Theories10
Tulsi Gabbard is “the favorite of the Russians,” Hillary Clinton asserted last Friday. “They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far.” But Clinton wasn’t done; she went on to claim of the 2016 Green Party candidate, “That’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up, which she might not because she’s also a Russian asset. She’s a Russian asset! I mean, totally. They know they can’t win without a third-party candidate.” So, evidently everyone who does not bow to Clinton is working for the Russians. Who’s unhinged?
Clearly, Clinton has never come to grips with the fact that she lost the 2016 election fair and square, and now she’s doubling down on the debunked Russian-collusion conspiracy hoax, which her own campaign was responsible for seeding. The idea that Gabbard or Stein are Russian assets is so laughably delusional that many may be wondering if Hillary is suffering from some form of dementia. Other than Trump Derangement Syndrome11, that is.
Both Gabbard and Stein were quick to hit back at Clinton. Stein kept it rather muted, stating, “It’s a shame HRC is peddling conspiracy theories to justify her failure instead of reflecting on [the] real reasons Dems lost in 2016.” Gabbard, however, leveled both barrels, calling Clinton “the queen of warmongers,” the “embodiment of corruption,” and the “personification of rot” now afflicting the Democrat Party. She further asserted, “From the day I announced my candidacy, there has been a concerted campaign to destroy my reputation. We wondered who was behind it and why. Now we know — it was always you, through your proxies and … powerful allies in the corporate media and war machine, afraid of the threat I pose.”
Other than fruitlessly attempting to defend her own outsized bruised ego, why is Clinton weighing in and attacking a fellow Democrat who is currently polling at just over 1% and has no legitimate shot of winning the nomination12? There appear to be two reasons: The first is that Clinton actually believes the Russian conspiracy hoax to be true. In spite of all the evidence to the contrary, Clinton still holds that the Russians are the primary reason she lost. The second reason is that Clinton has become so obsessed with preventing President Donald Trump from winning reelection that she has decided to try to kill off any potentially potent third-party leftist candidates who could siphon away votes from the eventual Democrat nominee, presumably either Elizabeth Warren or Joe Biden — or even herself.
But Clinton may have picked a fight she won’t win, as Gabbard has refused to be bullied. In fact, Clinton was the first to blink as she just backed out of Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit on Friday in Washington, DC, given that Gabbard is also scheduled to speak.
The real irony here is that Clinton, not Trump or Gabbard, is the one guilty of acting as a stooge for the Russians. Clinton has been “groomed” into supporting Vladimir Putin’s efforts to sow political discord aimed at undermining confidence in America’s electoral system.

Zuckerberg Wrong on Free Speech13
Recently it came to light via a leaked audio recording that Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is concerned about14 the prospect of a President Elizabeth Warren. “If [Warren] gets elected president,” Zuckerberg warned, “then I would bet that we will have a legal challenge, and I would bet that we will win the legal challenge. And does that suck for us? Yeah. I mean, I don’t want to have a major lawsuit against our own government.” Of course, this doesn’t mean that Zuckerberg has now become a fan of President Donald Trump, as Trump and Republicans have been highly critical of social-media companies and their biased practice of banning and limiting conservative speech on their platforms.
On Thursday, The Wall Street Journal published an op-ed15 by Zuckerberg wherein he attempted to demonstrate his commitment to free speech, while at the same time blaming lawmakers for not doing enough to regulate online speech. Zuckerberg doesn’t seem to understand how free speech works, or why the First Amendment is specifically directed at prohibiting the government from governing speech.
The Washington Examiner’s Brad Polumbo observes, “But Zuckerberg continued to cite dubious crackdowns on ‘hate speech,’ saying content that ‘dehumanizes’ others won’t be allowed, because it can lead to violence. This is a highly problematic standard: According to the modern Left, just about any questioning of social justice dogma is ‘dehumanizing’ to some group.”
Back to Warren. Why is she going after Facebook? Does she object to Facebook’s suppression of free speech? Nope. Warren the socialist is attacking Facebook because it has not done enough to silence Trump and conservative voices. Furthermore, Warren ridiculously claims, “Facebook is actively helping Trump spread lies and misinformation. Facebook already helped elect Donald Trump once. They might do it again — and profit off of it.”
The issue for all Americans should be concerns over either massive corporations or the government seeking to censor and limit Americans’ First Amendment rights of free speech. What Zuckerberg endorses is a slippery slope that will inevitably lead to a loss of speech rights rather than protecting them.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Gary Bauer: “I have deep concerns for the security of Christians in the Middle East. This administration has done more in three years to help the Christians of the Middle East than Obama did in eight. Vice President Pence took direct responsibility for this situation and ordered the bureaucracy to cut through the red tape so that U.S. foreign aid and resources went to Christian communities. But watching the news lately, I couldn’t help but wonder when did CNN and MSNBC suddenly develop this newfound fondness for Christians? Most of the time, they are calling us ‘Nazis,’ ‘deplorables,’ and comparing us to the Taliban. The media largely ignored the plight of Middle East Christians while Obama was bringing over more and more Muslim refugees. By the way, while they are expressing this concern for Middle Eastern Christians, they continue to push for limits on religious liberty here in the United States!”
SHORT CUTS
Insight: “I won a nickname, ‘The Great Communicator.’ But I never though it was my style or the words I used that made a difference: it was the content. I wasn’t a great communicator, but I communicated great things, and they didn’t spring full bloom from my brow, they came from the heart of a great nation — from our experience, our wisdom, and our belief in the principles that have guided us for two centuries.” —Ronald Reagan
For the record: “The United States and Mexico have a confluence of interests in stopping the flow of third-country ‘asylum-seekers’ heading for the American border. Mexicans love their country, as they should, and they’re tired of foreigners using it as a doormat.” —Mark Krikorian
Race bait: “It is no longer sufficient not to be racist — each one of us must commit to being anti-racist going forward.” —Beto O'Rourke
Non compos mentis I: “[The Russians] are going to do third party again. I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on [Tulsi Gabbard] and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s a favorite of the Russians and they have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far.” —Hillary Clinton
Non compos mentis II: “Donald Trump is Vladimir Putin’s dream. He said that the biggest catastrophe in history was the collapse of the former Soviet Union. As a former KGB guy, he is intent upon undermining democracies and trying to lay the groundwork for a resurgence of Russian greatness as he posits. And Donald Trump is delivering that to him on a daily basis.” —Hillary Clinton
Non compos mentis III: “[Trump] has no democratic instincts, really. And I saw that when I was secretary of state and traveled to 112 countries. One of our big problems were people who got themselves elected and then became authoritarian and then did everything they could to rig elections, everything they could to make sure that they were never forced out of power. That is his game plan. That is what he’s trying to achieve.” —Hillary Clinton
And last… “Thank you @HillaryClinton. You, the queen of warmongers, embodiment of corruption, and personification of the rot that has sickened the Democratic Party for so long, have finally come out from behind the curtain. … It’s now clear that this primary is between you and me. Don’t cowardly hide behind your proxies. Join the race directly.” —Rep. Tulsi Gabbard
