Another terrorist attack in London during Ramadan. “Enough is enough.”
In the U.S., visa overstays continue to account for a big part of illegal immigration.
Ecofascists go nuts after Trump pulls out of the Paris climate agreement.
Daily Features: Top Headlines, Cartoons, Columnists and Short Cuts.

“It is the madness of folly, to expect mercy from those who have refused to do justice; and even mercy, where conquest is the object, is only a trick of war; the cunning of the fox is as murderous as the violence of the wolf.” —Thomas Paine (1776)

Jihadi Déjà Vu in London1

Ramadan is the Islamic holiday during which an increasing number of jihadi terrorists2 murder “infidels” with whatever means available — and they do so in high-profile venues to foment greater fear. Last weekend there was a London replay of an increasingly common slaughter scene, on the heels of the bombing two weeks ago in Manchester, and a similar attack three months ago in London. (Five other attacks have been thwarted.) In the most recent attack, three men drove a van into a crowd on London Bridge, and then jumped out with knives to stab more people, killing seven and wounding scores more. It wasn’t Catholic nuns or extremist Presbyterians; it was Islamists bent on establishing a worldwide caliphate and killing as many infidels as possible in the name of their “god.”

British Prime Minister Theresa May, facing an election this Thursday, minced no words. “Enough is enough,” she declared, insisting that there is “far too much tolerance for extremism in our country.” She insisted, not a minute too soon, “Things need to change,” and she identified by name the “evil ideology of Islamist extremism.”

Two days before the attack, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, a Muslim sharia apologist, protested Donald Trump’s withdrawal3 from the Paris “climate change4” charade, claiming that global warming is “one of the biggest risks to humanity.” We challenge him to name a single London citizen who has been murdered by climate change — although given the Left’s “creative causation” claims, maybe he will come up with one.

After the attack, Khan announced, “Londoners will see an increased police presence today and over the course of the next few days. There is no reason to be alarmed by this.” Trump responded, “At least 7 dead and 48 wounded in terror attack and Mayor of London says there is ‘no reason to be alarmed!’” Indeed, UK citizens should be alarmed at the increased police presence because it is a visceral indicator of an increasing terrorist threat. The U.S. has already witnessed some of these vehicular attacks and there will be more to come in popular tourist venues. That is unless and until political leaders are willing to truly combat this rabid ideology.

Visa Overstays Are a Growing Problem5

While building a wall along the U.S. southern border, as well as hiring more Border Patrol agents, would help significantly in solving the problem of illegal immigration, another often less focused aspect of the problem has seen an increase. The Department of Homeland Security recently released its “Entry/Exit Overstay Report6,” which estimates that as much as 40% of all illegal immigration is due to overstayed visas. This isn’t a new problem7.

In fiscal year 2016, some 628,799 individuals overstayed their visas. Of that total, 544,676 are believed to still be in the country. These are individuals who lawfully entered the U.S. but remained beyond their allotted time and for whom no record of departure exists. Unfortunately, the percentage of overstays has seen recent increases — in 2015, it was 0.9%; in 2016, it increased to 1.07%. The greatest offenders tend to be students and exchange visitors whose visa overstays are 5.48%.

Homeland Security has been heavily invested in developing better biometric and biographic technology screening for those seeking entry, while focusing on tracking down visa overstay offenders has been less of a priority. Clearly, more Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are needed to track down these growing numbers of visa overstays.

While most illegal aliens do not engage in violent criminal behavior, it’s a good reminder to note that two of the 9/11 hijacker terrorists overstayed visas. And while visitors to the U.S. are very much welcome, the laws are designed to protect citizen and visitor alike from those who would seek to exploit our nation’s good will for their own nefarious purposes.

Trump to Ecofascists: You’re Fired!22

By Arnold Ahlert

As satisfying as President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris agreement was, it pales in comparison to leftists' reaction to it. The suppurating eruption from globalist elites, Hollywood glitterati, feckless politicians, media jackals and environmentalist jackboots is a wonder to behold.

German newspaper Berliner Kurier led23 the charge, embracing the Left’s latest “intellectual” tack, as in the use of four letter words they apparently believe deliver maximum impact. Hence the front page headline, “Earth to Trump: F*** you!” For the sake of “perspective” it should be noted the same paper once called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “insane” for using another “F” word — “Führer.”

The “Drop Dead” meme, first used24 in 1975 in response to President Gerald Ford’s refusal to give federal aid to New York City to spare it from bankruptcy, was revived as well. Democrat party hack Chuck Schumer voiced25 the charge, dutifully aped by “Drop Dead” headlines in the News Leader26, the New York Daily News27, and the Huffington Post28.

In CNN’s “Trump to planet: Drop dead,” columnist David A. Andelman warned29 that “Trump now risks plunging America into the position of the lone bully in the lunchroom” — meaning Andelman remains totally oblivious to the army of leftist bullies in the same “lunchroom.” Bullies who had no problem with Barack Obama bypassing30 the Senate by declaring the Paris deal an “agreement” instead of a treaty.

Moving downward, elitist billionaire and environmentalist “hero” Tom Steyer called31 the withdrawal a “traitorous act of war.” That would be the same Tom Steyer who once owned32 Farallon Capital Management, a firm heavily invested in coal.

Perhaps there’s a statute of limitations on “treason.”

By contrast, rank hypocrisy33 seems eternal, and no one does it better than limousine-riding, private jet flying, mansion-owning, greenhouse gas-spewing celebrities whose “do as I say, not as I do” sanctimony is the stuff of legend. Trump will have the “death of whole nations on his hands,” Mark Ruffalo warned34. “Today, our planet suffered,” moaned35 Leonardo DiCaprio. “Trump is having the U.S. pull out of the Paris Climate Accord. Too bad someone didn’t tell his father that he shoulda pulled out, too,” chirped Star Trek has-been George Takei. “Trump just committed a crime against humanity,” huffed Michael Moore. “There has never in US history been such a destructive megalomaniac in the WH,” tweeted35 Bette Midler. And the ever colorful Cher was at her “intellectual” best, warning “ppl” of the world that there are “‘MILLIONS' Of Us” being held “Hostage By Insane DICTATOR!”

More like insane media. CNN host Fareed Zakaria called36 Thursday “the day that the United States resigned as the leader of the free world.” CBS trotted out37 Obama and his standard spiel that those who reject progressive ideology “reject the future.” NBC went with uber climate “prognosticator” Al Gore, who insisted the withdrawal “is a reckless and indefensible action that undermines America’s standing in the world and threatens to damage humanity’s ability to solve the climate crisis in time.” Apparently the reality that Gore’s doomsday predictions have been spectacularly wrong38 doesn’t negate his status as the media’s go-to-guy on climate change.

And the always “even-handed” New York Times published39 a column entitled “Donald Trump Poisons the World” in which “conservative” columnist David Brooks excoriates Trump and his associates for their insufficiently “Kumbaya” approach to world affairs.

Politicians? California Gov. Jerry Brown called40 the withdrawal an “Insane Move by a Made by Deviant.” Hillary Clinton called41 it a “historic mistake.” Australian MP Adam Bandt labeled42 Trump a “climate criminal” who should become a “world pariah,” and Sen. Tom Kaine (D-VA) insisted43 Trump’s presidency “is all destruction & no accomplishments.” German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French president Emmanuel Macron and Italian prime minister Paolo Gentiloni deemed44 exiting the Paris agreement “irreversible” and “non-negotiable,” immediately undercutting Trump’s promise to revamp the deal on terms more favorable to America. New York City bathed landmarks in green, and Mayor Bill De Blasio promised a power grab to “honor the goals” of the agreement — goals that apparently don’t include wasting power on specious symbolism. DeBlasio was joined45 by a group called The Climate Mayors46 as well as politicians in 30 states who promised to defy Trump and pursue their own green agendas.

And the inimitable Nancy Pelosi accused47 Trump of “dishonoring” God.

The environmentalists were led by Greenpeace and Spanish director Mario Rodriguez. “Resistance will be maintained because the United States is much more than just the White House and Trump,” he stated48. And since no leftist outburst is complete without accusations of racism, the ACLU National called49 the withdrawal a “massive step back for racial justice, and an assault on communities of color across the U.S.”

Ecofascists are consoling themselves with polls. “Most Americans support government regulation to fight climate change,” The Washington Post headline50 informs us. If that’s true, the propaganda has worked. The only thing left is to beat Trump-supporting Neanderthals into submission.

The Paris agreement is an utter fraud, one underscored by the reality that the United States has contributed51 $1 billion to the Green Climate Fund, while China, India and Russia have contributed nothing. It is a pact designed by democracy-crushing, national sovereignty-despising progressive elites determined to put “exceptional” America in an unexceptional place.

Instead, globalists and their New World Order dreams have been dealt a serious blow by the man they hold in contempt for, as he put it, representing the citizens of “Pittsburgh, not Paris” — exactly as he promised to do.

America will continue finding innovative ways to be environmentally responsible, minus the yoke ecofascists sought to strap on our neck. Much to their amazement, President Trump just “fired” all of them.

It couldn’t happen to a more deserving bunch.

Kathryn Jean Lopez: “The Paris opt-out is not just about a climate treaty. As has been noted before this column, even environmental activists in the Left had their problems with this accord. The outrage in response to Trump’s decision may once again expose our perennial problem: seeing the federal government and nebulous international forces as the source of our salvation. The decisions you and I make today have a power that is much greater than we realize. Whatever your view of Trump’s move, it could provide an opportunity to consider how we can begin again, not wedded to political agendas, but with an insistence on using our freedom to its greatest potential. The climate treaty wasn’t ever going to make us look around and see everything as a gift calling us to better stewardship. … A nation of people who claim to care about some of the most fundamental things would do well to lead the way, free of distraction and despair.”

The Gipper: “To me, there is no greater tragedy than a breadwinner willing to work, with a job skill but unable to find a market for that job skill.”

For the record: “Our political leaders are basically telling us that this kind of terrorism, random and deadly, is the price we have to pay for their policies of multiculturalism and political correctness. They know that their weak platitudes can’t stop terrorism, and so do the people. They might as well come out and say what they mean: get used to the new normal.” —Megan Oprea

Alpha Jackass I: “This piece of s—t is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind.” —CNN’s “modern secular Muslim” commentator Reza Aslan on Donald Trump

Alpha Jackass II: “Is the president trying to provoke a domestic terrorist attack with this Twitter rant, only to prove himself right?” —MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts

Village idiots: “More sorrow and grief at the hands of madmen in London. Men and religion are worthless.” —Bette Midler

That’s racist! “Work in the fields? Senator, I’m a house n—r.” —HBO’s Bill Maher to Sen. Ben Sasse before apologizing for his “offensive” joke

Braying Jenny: “[Donald Trump] broke me. … I’ve had everybody turn on me. … What’s happening to me has never happened, ever, in the history of this great country, which is that a sitting president of the United States, his grown children, and the first lady are personally, I feel, personally trying to ruin my life forever. Forever.” —Kathy Griffin after she posed with a severed Trump head last week

Non Compos Mentis: “If I and my advisors had never learned what Science is or how & why it works, then I’d consider pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord too.” —Neil deGrasse Tyson

Dezinformatsiya: “[It] reminds me of anti-Semitism and blaming the Jews. This is disinformation.” —Vladimir Putin on Democrats blaming Russia for Hillary Clinton’s election defeat

And last… “Everywhere you look, people are mistaking inconvenient facts for insults. Every single day, people are taking offense at disagreement and confusing rights (and presidential prerogatives) and science for moral authority. It’s a hothouse where the air is thick with hypocrisy because arguments are downstream of feelings — and where facts are so much flair to don or discard depending on what lifestyle you want to adopt and what virtues you want to signal. In short, it’s a very stupid time.” —Jonah Goldberg
