TOP RIGHT HOOKS
Who’s the Treasonous Candidate?1
Lie often and long enough and one will begin to believe one’s lies to be reality. Evidently, Hillary Clinton has been living in the reality of her own lies for quite a while now. On Tuesday, Clinton claimed that Donald Trump’s rhetoric against Islamic terrorism “is giving aid and comfort to our adversaries.” That’s right, Hillary just accused Trump of treason — for calling Islamic terrorism … Islamic terrorism. It is this kind of backward and dishonest thinking which underhandedly vilifies those who speak the truth while at the same time justifying the motives of those who commit these heinous acts of terror. The truth is Trump is not the one who should be accused of treasonous actions.
Actually, the fault lies with Clinton and her former boss, Barack Obama, who did “create the Islamic State2,” which emerged as the direct consequence of the politically motivated and premature withdrawal from Iraq3. That, in turn, created the most catastrophic humanitarian crisis4 in the history of the region.
As an additional consequence of the failure of Obama and Clinton to contain Islamic terror, the frequency of attacks targeting Americans on our soil5 will increase. Don’t buy into the errant “lone wolf6” rhetoric. All of these attackers are unified by Islamist doctrine. But according to Hillary, even the suggestion of an Islamic connection to the actions of these terrorists is tantamount to treason. Clinton’s deceit has blinded her from reality, and, sadly, too many Americans have bought into this lie as well.
The Left’s Narrative War on Cops7
Last night a protest over the killing of a black man by a black police officer erupted into rioting in Charlotte, North Carolina. The rioters shut down part of Interstate 85 and attacked police vehicles. Police sought to protect a nearby Walmart from looting and dispersed the rioting mob with tear gas. Evidently, some people think looting of stores is an acceptable means of protesting injustice since it happens after every one of these incidents. At least 12 Charlotte police officers were injured by the rioters.
Once again the Leftmedia continues to promote the false narrative that all law enforcement is racist against blacks. Pointing to the recent shooting of an unarmed black man by police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Hillary Clinton argued that the narrative is justified. “Maybe I can, by speaking directly to white people, say, look, this is not who we are,” she said before the Charlotte riots broke out. “We have got to do everything possible to improve policing, to go right at implicit bias.” What more “justification” did rioters need?
The problem of assuming police racism before the completion of any investigation does nothing to promote true justice. Time and time again, as these investigations fully run their course, the police officers are exonerated. But that matters little to the Left. It’s the narrative of “racist cops” that matters most, irrespective of the actual circumstances and facts of a particular incident. Consider it part of what Barack Obama’s spokesman Josh Earnest recently called the “narrative battle.” The trouble is, cops pay a heavy price8 in this war.
This crusade by the Left against police is part of a larger effort to fundamentally transform America. History is reinterpreted through the prism of the Left’s worldview. For the Left, guilt is established not by facts but by association. Terminology such as “white-privilege” and “alt-right” is invented to further the leftist/socialist ideology that America is fundamentally an unequal and unfair nation. Therefore, the “cops are racist” narrative is a tool used to justify pushing for the radical transformation of the nation into a socialist state.
Ceasefire in Syria Unravels9
The already shaky ceasefire10 put into effect in Syria last week took a disturbing turn after news broke that a UN humanitarian convey was attacked, leaving a dozen or more people slain and denying crucial commodities to thousands of others. Neither Russia nor Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are taking responsibility. According to The Wall Street Journal, “Russia and the Syrian government denied Tuesday they were behind the airstrikes on a humanitarian aid convoy in northern Syria that killed at least 12 people and cast further doubt on the fate of a cease-fire aimed at bringing a semblance of calm to the war-torn country.” However, the U.S. puts the blame solely at the feet of Assad and his ally, Russian strongman Vladimir Putin.
The UN’s Stephen O'Brien says, “Notification of the convoy — which planned to reach some 78,000 people — had been provided to all parties to the conflict, and the convoy was clearly marked as humanitarian.” It’s perturbing to consider, but that may be evidence for why the convoy was attacked. As Tom Rogan recently opined in National Review, “Putin uses civilian suffering as a powerful tool.” The ceasefire, he argued, is Obama’s Trojan horse. It’s hardly a stretch therefore to say the convey attack was deliberate to further provoke tensions.
And why not? Putin, who remains unleashed, is on the verge of absolute control. The Washington Post reports11, “Now that United Russia, the party founded by Russian President Vladimir Putin, has won a landslide constitutional majority in parliamentary elections, the Kremlin has gained the ability to wield virtually full control over the legislature during a period of economic downturn.” Even if Putin and Assad aren’t directly culpable for the unraveling of the ceasefire, they certainly aren’t fretting over it. Because the goal for them is sovereignty, not peace.

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS Dozens Injured in ‘Narrative Fight’ With Islamic Terrorists21
By Louis DeBroux
In Aeneid, the epic by the ancient Greek poet Virgil, the story is told of how the Greeks defeated the Trojans through the use of stratagem. As the story goes, the Greeks, after a decade-long siege of the city of Troy failed to secure a victory, deceived the Trojans by building a huge wooden horse, leaving it at the gates of the city as the Greek army sailed away. The Trojans, believing the Greeks had given up, brought the great horse within the city walls as a symbol of their victory. Unbeknownst to the Trojans, an elite force of Greek soldiers was hidden inside, which came out under cover of night, opened the gates for the Greek army (which had sailed back), and destroyed the city, ending the war decisively.
As the philosopher George Santayana noted, those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Barack Obama and his legions of progressive Democrats certainly seem determined to repeat history when it comes to allowing our enemies within our borders.
Following Islamist terror attacks22 this past weekend in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota, Obama once again buried his head in the proverbial sand, berating the media for reporting the incidents as acts of terrorism. He admonished the press to “try to refrain from getting out ahead of the investigation” because, he argued, “it does not help if false reports or incomplete information is out there.”
Except no one was getting out ahead of anything. The perpetrator was yet another radicalized Muslim — this one from Afghanistan who became a U.S. citizen. Ahmad Khan Rahami, suspected of the bombings that caused an explosion in New Jersey and another which injured 29 in New York, has traveled between the U.S., Afghanistan and Pakistan multiple times in the last five years, and he was interviewed each time upon return though never suspected of being radicalized.
