THE FOUNDATION
“There is a rank due to the United States, among nations, which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war.” —George Washington (1793)
TOP RIGHT HOOKS
Tackling Terrorism, Trump Style1
Radical Islamist terrorism is one of the defining issues of this election, thanks in large part to the feckless “leadership” of Barack Obama. The Islamic State flourishes because, some might say, he founded it2. Donald Trump laid out his strategy for combating this scourge in a major speech Monday. But first, he correctly assessed the situation: “The failure to establish a new Status of Forces Agreement in Iraq, and the election-driven timetable for withdrawal, surrendered our gains in that country and led directly to the rise of ISIS.” Exactly.
Better screening for immigrants, and particularly Middle East refugees, is a no brainer and Trump is right to address it. “In addition to screening out all members or sympathizers of terrorist groups, we must also screen out any who have hostile attitudes towards our country or its principles — or who believe that Sharia law should supplant American law,” Trump argued. “Those who do not believe in our Constitution, or who support bigotry and hatred, will not be admitted for immigration into the country.” His solutions are imperfect, but there are no perfect solutions.
The trouble for Trump is, as usual, himself. He has both favored and opposed the Iraq war, both encouraged and criticized withdrawal from it, called for and rejected involvement in Syria, and promised to be tough of the Islamic State while sitting back and letting Russia handle it. He has also dismissed NATO as irrelevant, but, in this speech, said it’s indispensable for defeating the Islamic State. Beating Hillary Clinton and her record on the issue of terrorism should be a gimme. She has been and will be horrible for American national security. If Trump can drive that home…
Clinton’s Illegal Campaign3
Throughout Barack Obama’s presidency, he has sought only the expansion of illegal immigration. That’s evident again in this year’s number of illegals crossing into the U.S. — it has already surpassed last year’s total. What’s fueling this increase has been attributed both to violence in Central America and the hope of amnesty from Obama’s immigration policies. Last month, Obama announced several new programs aimed at allowing children and their extended relatives to apply for permission to pass into the U.S. from their home countries, in an attempt to stem the flow through Mexico and across the border. It appears that this policy has proved to be an invitation to yet more illegal immigrants.
In light of this ever growing problem, Hillary Clinton has taken the side of illegals. She started a new strategy of getting the Hispanic vote called the “Mi Sueño, Tu Voto” (“My Dream, Your Vote”). This strategy seeks to “mobilize” illegal immigrants — specifically, so-called “Dreamers” who Obama targeted for amnesty — to pressure Hispanic citizens to vote for Hillary. That’s right, Hillary is recruiting those who have no right to be in America to campaign for her election.
So why is she courting the Hispanic vote so hard? It may be that Hillary has already written off winning the white working class voter. Predictably, it’s the one demographic Hillary is currently not winning. Trump is leading among white men, who make up the majority of the blue-collar working class. When Hillary trumpets the desires of illegal immigrants over and against the concerns of millions of American citizens, is it any wonder that the majority of hard-working, tax-paying, blue-collar Americans don’t support her?
Hillary’s War on Women4
It’s not news that Hillary Clinton’s record of defending women who are actually victims of sexual assault does not match up with her public statements on the matter. In 2015 she tweeted, “To every survivor of sexual assault… You have the right to be heard. You have the right to be believed. We’re with you.” Hillary loves to champion herself as standing boldly for women against the Republicans and their fictitious “war on women.” But her campaign website has been scrubbed of the above reference to believing accusers. Wonder why…
What the record shows5 is a list of women who Hillary has done anything but defend, hear or believe. We’re all familiar with Bill and his penchant for womanizing. Remember Juanita Broaddrick, who has claimed for decades that Bill raped her? Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones and others claim Bill sexually assaulted them. When Hillary was asked about these women and their claims, she said, “I would say that everybody should be believed at first until they are disbelieved based on evidence.” Problem was, there has never been any evidence presented to discredit any of these women’s claims.
But Hillary’s problem with defending women isn’t limited to her husband’s accusers. Back in 1975, when she was a court-appointed attorney, she defended a man who raped a 12-year-old girl. Hillary questioned the emotional stability of the girl, who she claimed had a “tendency to seek out older men and engage in fantasizing.” Clinton was able to get certain forensic evidence disallowed and as a result her client spent less than one year in jail for the crime.
Kathy Shelton, the rape victim, now says, “I don’t think [Clinton’s] for women or girls. I think she’s lying, I think she said anything she can to get the campaign and win. If she was [an advocate for women and children], she wouldn’t have done that to me at 12 years old.”
Many of us have known for a long time that Hillary Clinton is no more an advocate for women than is her womanizing husband. Hillary, like her husband, uses women. But in Hillary’s case, it’s for her own political aims.

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS
Democrats and the Decline of Science16
By Paul Albaugh
Everyone who has had the opportunity to receive a decent education knows that science, in its pure form, requires observation and experimentation in order to reach a sufficient conclusion. It takes individuals with creative minds and a peculiar dedication to a certain subject to find out as much information as possible. Science is also responsible for incredible advancement in civilizations across the globe and has been a primary reason why we now know so much more about our planet, plants and people than ever before.
But what happens when science and politics collude to bring about “settled science” or “new evidence” that is disguised as science? Is it still science, or is it propaganda that uses “science” as an excuse to push for more laws, regulations and control over people?
Unfortunately, there is much snake oil being sold and told as science. Many people have succumbed to believing it without putting any thought into why a known fact has changed or not changed, or why something is bad for you that used to be good for you and vice versa.

There is a political party that is behind much of the so-called science we hear about these days. That of course is the Democrat Party. There is a major problem with the Party of Science™, though, and that is every time science doesn’t jive with their worldview, they ditch the evidence.
We have witnessed for quite some time now how everything is hyper-politicized and people are more worried about being politically correct than they are about being correct. Political correctness may very well have led to or at least be leading to a decline in science and if it continues, future generations may not even think to question anything for fear of being reprimanded, humiliated or ostracized from the scientific field.
In fact, it’s already happening. One example is Lawrence Summers. His tenure as president of Harvard was cut short because he merely suggested that there might be intellectual differences between men and women. The result of his punishment is that many researchers have held back on their research and have ceased investigating the differences between male and female brains.
What could possibly be wrong with researching and attempting to find differences between male and female brains? Could it be that the scientific research could prove that indeed there is a difference between the sexes — the way they think and feel, and how they are affected under certain circumstances? Why would anyone want to discourage scientists from discovering? Why indeed.
For one thing, we know that there are X chromosomes and Y chromosomes within DNA that biologically determine sex. Yet today some people claim that a person can “identify” as a male or female depending upon how they feel. But true science refutes that claim — and it has for centuries.
What about climate change? We are told by leftists and climate alarmists that fossil fuels17 are harmful for the environment and that the overuse of them is causing unwanted pollution. And of course the narrative that “we are killing our environment” by fossil fuel use is a major theme. But many scientists say the opposite is true. Alex Epstein, director of the Center for Industrial Progress, has shown that “burning fossil fuels has improved the lives of millions in the developed world by helping solve their biggest environmental challenges, purified their water and air, made their cities and homes more sanitary and kept them safe from potential catastrophic climate change.”
Continuing under the mantra of “science,” some leftists have proclaimed that climate change is the driving force behind refugees having to relocate18. We’re all familiar with the terms “global cooling” and “global warming” — now wrapped up under the more malleable term “climate change.” Science has proven that, yes, the climate does change. But it has not proven that more government control over emissions will solve anything.
Then there is the science of life19, which the Left still denies. Harvesting body parts from babies is immoral and unethical, yet many on the Left insist that it is necessary for the advancement of scientific research. This is proclaimed despite findings that for over 100 years of research on fetal tissue, there have been no medial cures that have been derived from it.
Let’s take it further. Leftists are so warped in their view on abortion, that once ultrasound technology revealed that a fetus is actually a living human inside of a woman’s body, they changed the abortion debate to being about a woman’s “right to choose.” You might say they declared, “Get your science off my body!”
Government and science can and should work together when constitutionally permitted, but the object should be to find and reveal the truth, not push a political agenda. The next time you hear the words “settled science,” consider the source and look at who or what is behind it. You may be surprised to find that the only thing settled is an ideological goal.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Thomas Sowell: “We keep hearing that ‘black lives matter,’ but they seem to matter only when that helps politicians to get votes, or when that slogan helps demagogues demonize the police. The other 99 percent of black lives destroyed by people who are not police do not seem to attract nearly as much attention in the media. What about black success? Does that matter? Apparently not so much. … Black success is a threat to political empires and to a whole social vision behind those empires. That social vision has politicians like Bill de Blasio and Hillary Clinton cast in the role of rescuers and protectors of blacks from enemies threatening on all sides. If politicians can promote paranoia, that means bigger voter turnout, which is what really matters to them. That same social vision allows the intelligentsia, whether in the media or in academia, to be on the side of the angels against the forces of evil. That’s heady stuff. And a bunch of kids taking tests doesn’t look nearly as exciting on TV as a mob marching through the streets, chanting that they want ‘dead cops.’ Black success has very little to offer politicians or the intelligentsia. But black children’s lives and futures ought to matter — and would, if politicians and the intelligentsia were for real.”
SHORT CUTS
Insight: “O liberty! O liberty! What crimes are committed in thy name!” —Madame Jeanne-Marie Roland (1754-1793)
Dezinformatsia: “In the ancient world, well-expressed gender fluidity was the mark of a civilized person. … The Israelites took the transgender trope from their surrounding cultures and wove it into their own sacred scripture. … Counter to everything we grew up believing, the God of Israel … was understood by its earliest worshipers to be a dual-gendered deity.” —NY Times contributor Mark Sameth in a piece titled, “Is God Transgender?”
Alpha Jackass: “[Donald Trump] would’ve loved [Joseph] Stalin. … Trump’s ideas are not only profoundly wrong, they’re dangerous and un-American. They reveal a profound ignorance of our Constitution. It’s a recipe for playing into the hands of terrorists and their propaganda.” —Joe Biden (Barack Obama exchanged five terrorists for an American deserter, Bowe Bergdahl23, and gave Iran a $400 million ransom payment24, among a plethora of other profoundly wrong decisions.)
Bravo? “Hillary has forgotten more about American foreign policy than Trump and his entire team will ever understand.” —Joe Biden
Upright: “The police are not making black people kill each other at alarming rates. The police are not making black people drop out of school or black men father children out of wedlock. Yet it’s remarkable the extent to which anti-police activists simply take those factors as givens and then demand that police know exactly how to navigate and defuse the resulting, inevitable social pathologies. In other words, activists demand the impossible and then riot when their impossible demands aren’t met.” —David French
For the record: “Remember that there were nine people shot and five killed in Milwaukee in the 48 hours before [the death of an armed black thug, Sylville Smith25], but … for some reason Black Lives Matter didn’t think black lives mattered as long as no policeman is involved.” —Newt Gingrich
And last… “It’s understandable that when a criminal is shot by a cop, it makes you so mad you need a free widescreen TV.” —Twitter satirist @weknowwhatsbest
