I just received a letter from Social Security that said, "There was no raise in the cost of living during the past year, so your benefit will remain the same in 2010." Well, that's news to me. NOTHING cost more this last year than it did in 2008? So, of course, that means that nothing will cost any more this next year, which is why I don't need a raise in my check. I assume that will also include my retirement check as well.  That check was cut as it was to make up for the social security check they were sending me. That way I gained nothing. I just love the logic of the government.
