I am shutting off the news!
I am getting so upset and stressed!
So many are dying in Iraq, and I just cannot understand or deal with all the sorrow.
I am sorry if this makes me weak, or that you all think me "cold"...I have cried so many tears....now I will just PRAY!

Jesus, remember me... Luke 23:42

I used to be very 'political'; a member of several conservative political internet forums, read the news "religiously", wrote letters to the editor, and “soaked up” all the news I could.  Then I had a couple of heart attacks (seriously).

While I still keep up with events, I now do it under my terms – almost exclusively internet news sites.  And I’ve narrowed my political activism almost entirely to those things that have a spiritual impact on my church, my family, my friends and me.  My stress level has dropped dramatically.

The thing you will get from the ‘nightly world news’ is just that:  WORLDLY news!  You have humanists reporting on humanism.  You have humanists reporting what they believe you need to know in order to carry out their social engineering experiments, and they are experts at making you feel guilty about things which you have no control over.

Jesus said “You will always have the poor…”  Likewise we will always have war, famine, sexual immorality, etc., etc., etc., etc,… until He returns for us!  And the good news is He Will Return!  Grin

You have to learn (as I recently did) to balance the good with the bad – with the scales weighing in favor of the good.  You CAN turn off the ‘nightly worldly news’ and you don’t have to stick your head in the sand to do it.

A quick follow up on my last post, on why we shouldn't stick our heads in the sand:

In Germany they first came for the Communists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me -
and by that time no one was left to speak up.

I will voice my opinion, but, I will not allow the darkness of fear and depression overtake my heart!
I will hold on to HOPE!
I will NOT place my head in the sand...but, my knees on the ground and my heart in heaven in prayer.
