Another New Member

This is my first day on the forum.  I'm so glad that I've found it.  God put a message on my heart and through the help and support of my church, it is now a reality.  My pastor is a great man and very wise.  His recent messages around the 4th of July really inspired me. 

I'm also a Florida native and to give a little history on what has started our new "movement" it was during my recent visit to Fort Myers (my hometown.)  Driving down Hwy 41 there was a man carrying two parade flags.  The Christian flag on top with the American flag under.  My first thought was "That is just too cool."  Further down the hwy, his truck was parked with a sign on the back that said "One Nation UNDER God."  What a profound statement.  After all, it is because of God's blessing that we live in America.

Our pastor was speaking on the Great Awakening.  The period of time that began in the 1730's in this country when people returned to their faith.  So we are trying to start a "New Great Awakening."  Our little church feels that if Christian's unite, we can turn this country around, but it will take many voices to do it.

Thanks for letting me join this forum.  I'm getting mixed responses from friends and family about this new undertaking.  I really feel the need to be around like-minded people for support and motivation.

Hi and welcome to Christians Unite forums. Yes Christians do need to come together. This nation will never return to God unless Christians get over being lukewarm, stop leaving everything to someone else and figuring that we should do nothing. Irregardless of whether we get this nation to return to God or not we still must continue the good fight.

God wants us to have fellowship with each other, and Christians can definitely encourage and strengthen each other in these difficult times. I think that prayer is a high priority:  1) asking God to lead and guide us;  2) asking God to use us for His perfect will and purpose in our lives;  3) prayer for each other;  4) and prayer for all that God lays on our hearts.

Regardless, fellow Christians are already one in Jesus Christ, and He will come to Rapture us Home to Glory soon. I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite, and I look forward to having fellowship with you.

Thanks for making me feel welcomed into your group.  It will take me just a little while to figure all of this out.  In the meantime, I am in charge of my church bulletin and must get to work on that.  I'm going to mention this site.  I think it is wonderful.
