Brothers and Sisters,

I thought we might need a thread to talk about the things that are bothering us or causing us concerns. The coffee thread has typically been used for more pleasant things, so now we have a thread to talk about the negative.

YES - I know that we have plenty of negative things on our minds! Maybe it would be good to just get them off our chest and talk about them. It just might be good for us. We might even have some suggestions for each other in thinking about more positive things. I do know that keeping things bottled up isn't good, and I also know there are many excellent purposes for Christian fellowship. This is especially true when things get hard, and I know that things are getting harder by the hour now.

Brothers and Sisters, we DO HAVE A BETTER HOPE than the world does, but that doesn't mean that we're immune to feeling down with the things that are going on around us. I have a list of things that are bothering me, and I'm sure that you do also. Depending on where you live, you might have worse problems to deal with. Regardless, we aren't alone.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Isaiah 55:6-7 NASB  6  Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near.  7  Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

I get alot of angry thoughts sometimes. I really hate them. It is usually about things that are small or happened a long time ago and doesn't matter anymore.

I also think about my relationship with God, I know it isn't as good as it should be.

I know I sound like a broken record.

There is more on my mind than myself, it is about the evil in the world.

A few days ago I read about a game where the goal is to rape women. Another sign of the end of the Age.

Hi from NZ i can fully understand your frustratration James re above post, experiencing angry thoughts. Righteous anger is right and natural, but anger that is ill placed and lacking control, is from our heart that needs to be reckoned crucified with Christ, and made new with His ressurection.
For a clearer understanding, google Victory from sin by Rev Earnest O Neil.

Brothers and Sisters correct me if i err, but after 18 yrs a Christian and of trying to suppress the sin in my heart, it was a great relief when Jesus called me a " white washed Tombstone (or Grave site) ". I always thought Jesus was denouncing the Pharissee`s in a harsh critical voice, but now i see he was trying to tell them , that they like all of us have a heart that is " wicked decietful "and full of the bones of others we have killed in angry thoughts etc.
If we try to cover it up (say that we can see) then we are blinded, but if we admit our heart is beyond repair and needs replacing, then we can be helped and God can circumcise us with a new heart.

The Gospel really is " Good News " but i had begun to withdraw into unbelief and despair because of the sin i saw in my heart that i could only push down but never get victory over, yet i was " Born again ". You see when we first get saved by faith in Christ (Justification) the heart gets dealt a savage blow, but it gradually regroups and gets stronger if we do not get a new heart by faith (sanctification).

Got to go to work, hope to pick this later and the original intent of my post, which was to speak of divorce remarriage issue. Bye Arthur.

Hello Arthur,

I see this is your first post, so WELCOME!

I sincerely hope that you enjoy Christians Unite.

Brothers David and Arthur, I know it's always a good thing to look at our own failings first, so I would never argue this. However, my main thoughts in starting this thread involve the evil of this world that Christians are having to deal with. We can talk about both, and this might be even more appropriate. After all, Christians becoming conformed in any way to the world is a big problem for all of us.

Christians can be sure of having plenty of opposition in trying to live Godly lives or taking any stand for GOD. In fact, the extremes of persecution against Christians are becoming more common by the day now. YES - we do have some opposition within ourselves that must be continually dealt with. The Apostle Paul tells us this will be a battle for a lifetime. So, we do have internal and external battles to be fought, and both are difficult.

In the meantime, the devil is more and more LOOSE in this world, and Bible Prophecy tells us this will get worse. The devil is after our children, other family members, our friends, and all that he can get his hands on. This is a reality, and the stakes are Eternal. The devil is also after us, especially if we are Christians. The devil doesn't want us to have a good living testimony for others, and the devil certainly doesn't want us to witness to others. The devil wants to discredit Christians in any way that he can so that they will be ineffective. If a Christian ISN'T being regularly attacked by the devil, they aren't doing much for the LORD.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 6:11-20 NIV  11  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.  12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  13  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  14  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,  15  and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  16  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.  17  Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.  18  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  19  Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,  20  for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

Brothers and Sisters,

I told you that I have a list of things bothering me, and I want to share a few of them. First, I want to tell you that I'm a Child of GOD, and I don't let these other things ruin my life. CHRIST is the CORE of my being, so nothing can ruin the rest of this short life. With this in mind:

1 - I am sad to be watching our so-called government try to destroy everything decent about this country. I firmly believe that everything is INTENTIONAL and is designed to REMOVE FREEDOM AND GOD FROM THIS COUNTRY. YES, they are trying to turn this into a Socialist or Communist country as we speak - the more radical - the better. Obviously, there is no attention being paid to our Constitution or foundation, so many of the things being done out in the OPEN ARE ILLEGAL AND UNCONSTITIUTIONAL!

2 - Why should a Christian care about what the ultra-liberals are doing RIGHT NOW? Socialism and Communism aren't compatible with GOD and Christians. In fact, the LORD'S WORK in most socialist and communist countries is FORBIDDEN! WHY? - GOD can't be recognized as having any power or influence over the state because that would threaten the power and status of the current ruling party. YES - there is a current attempt to change this country. Any success will result in a loss of FREEDOM and distancing AWAY FROM GOD. SO, everything we have STOOD FOR since our foundation is under assault. We don't just have a problem with our economy, rather an attempted DESTRUCTION of everything we hold dear. Many will NOT tolerate the takeover, and I will be one of them.

3 - The fight over killing babies (abortion) will never be over, regardless of what the president says. This is wrong, immoral, SIN, and MURDER! We were making some progress in ending this barbaric and sinful practice, but our current president plans to wipe out all progress immediately. In fact, he intends for us to pay for abortions in other countries with our tax dollars. The same is true for acceptance and indoctrination about evil alternative lifestyles. Further, there is and will be attempts to silence the opposition. This can't happen in a FREE country, so the FREEDOM of the country must be removed. AGAIN, this is something that WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!

4 - The fight over morals, FREEDOM, rights, and the CONSTITUTION will never be over - regardless of what a president or political party says. The removal of FREEDOM AND RIGHTS WON'T BE TOLERATED - END OF STORY! This also includes taking our children and putting them into forced indoctrination programs for political purposes. The answer to this is NO! Eventually, more radical methods will be used to shut the opposition up, and this won't be tolerated either! Most people will SAY NO eventually to participating in or paying for EVIL! As a Christian, I have a hard time knowing that any of my tax dollars are being used for EVIL purposes like abortion. Currently, there is a big push to spend much more of our tax dollars on EVIL that we have a legal and moral OBJECTION to. We should know this is just the beginning of what's in the plans to do, regardless of whether we OBJECT or not. By the way, taking our money or property for these purposes is ILLEGAL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL - REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE CLOWNS IN GOVERNMENT SAY! Our laws and Constitution aren't going away, nor will the people let them be removed! We've dealt with TYRANTS before and we're capable of doing it again!

5 - The work of the LORD WILL NOT BE STOPPED - PERIOD! - END OF STORY! The same is true for RELIGIOUS FREEDOM and the individual RIGHTS OF CHRISTIANS! IF CHRISTIANS DON'T HAVE FREEDOM AND RIGHTS - NOBODY HAS FREEDOM AND RIGHTS! GUESS - THOSE IN POWER HAVE OPTED FOR A SYSTEM WITH NOBODY HAVING FREEDOM AND RIGHTS! All of their actions will be illegal and Unconstitutional, and THEY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW! Many have already committed TREASON on behalf of their personal agendas to ENSLAVE A NATION! THE ANSWER IS NO - WE WON'T TOLERATE IT! WE WILL CALL EVIL WHAT IT IS:  EVIL!! WE WILL NOT SHUT UP AND SIT DOWN!

Five More States Invoke the 10th
by  A.W.R. Hawkins
humanevents.com
03/04/2009

Last week, HUMAN EVENTS reported that eleven states, Washington, New Hampshire, Arizona, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Georgia, South Carolina, and Texas, had all “all introduced bills and resolutions” declaring their sovereignty over Obama’s actions in light of the 10th Amendment.

These actions are in response to the Obama administration’s faux-“stimulus” legislation which directly assaults the rights of states to reject the money coming from the federal government. So far, several Republican governors -- among them South Carolina’s Mark Sanford and Louisiana’s Bobby Jindal -- have said they would refuse all or part of the stimulus money because of the constitutional infringements and because of the additional unfunded liabilities they impose on the states.

This week, HUMAN EVENTS is happy to report that five more states have decided to invoke the 10th as well.

These five -- Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana, and West Virginia -- have all begun their action under the 10th Amendment in a bid to protect themselves from what they view as nothing less than an unconstitutional usurpation of power on the part of the Obama administration.

On February 23, HJR 108 was put forth in the Tennessee legislature, indicating that legislators in that state decided “it [was] time to affirm state sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and demand the federal government halt its practice of assuming powers and of imposing mandates upon the states for purposes not enumerated by the Constitution,” according to Truman Bean.

The very next day, February 24, Kentucky State Representative John Will Stacy (D), “introduced House Concurrent Resolution 168… serving notice to the federal government to cease mandates beyond its authority.”

In declaring their sovereignty these states have joined what has come to be known as “the 10th Amendment movement.” It is a grassroots, conservative movement that seeks to defend the separation of powers as originally set forth by our Founders in the Constitution.

Through this movement, conservatives are throwing down the gauntlet against tyranny and the abuse of power. They are invoking the 10th Amendment at the state level against abuses of power by the federal government, and doing so with appeals to the extra-constitutional writings of our Founding fathers.

For example, Indiana’s resolution calls attention to the words of Alexander Hamilton, a Federalist and Founder who “expressed his hope that ‘the people will always take care to preserve the constitutional equilibrium between the general and the state governments.’” Hamilton “believed that ‘this balance between the national and state governments forms a double security to the people. If one [government] encroaches on their rights, they will find a powerful protection in the other. Indeed, they will both be prevented from over-passing their constitutional limits by [the] certain [rivalry] which will ever subsist between them.’”

Kansas’ Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 1609 delves even deeper into the mechanics of the matter by reminding the Obama administration, as well as the House and Senate, that “the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the state.” In other words, the federal government exists by and for the states, not the other way around.

The resolution headed to West Virginia’s 79th Legislature couples its action under the 10th Amendment with a reminder directed to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.): “[The] United States Supreme Court has ruled in New York v. United States, 112 S. Ct. 2408 (1992), that Congress may not simply commandeer the legislative and regulatory processes of the states.” This reminder is followed by a pronouncement that “a number of proposals from previous administrations and some now pending from the present administration and from Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States.”

In light of these violations of the Constitution, the stated purpose of West Virginia’s resolution is, in part, to “serve as Notice and Demand to the federal government, as our agent, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.”

Our rights as citizens are under assault by an administration of leftist ideologues with an insatiable appetite for power. There is little difference between them and the appeasement-drunken, government-expanding leftists in Lyndon Baines Johnson’s administration of whom Ronald Reagan said in 1964, “Inalienable rights are now considered to be a dispensation of government…and freedom is close to slipping from our grip.”

Every state assembly and legislature that has joined “the 10th Amendment movement” understands that Reagan’s words about freedom’s fragility in 1964 are no less true for our day when not only freedom, but also the America ideal, is “close to slipping from our grip.”

We must stand shoulder to shoulder with states like Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, Indiana, and West Virginia in demanding that the federal government immediately “cease and desist” its usurpation of our liberties.

Obama the Revolutionary
by  Jed Babbin
humanevents.com
03/02/2009

If President Obama achieves his agenda, his successor will not be president of the same nation Obama inherited. Like Madame Defarge in Dickens’ “A Tale of Two Cities”, Obama is a revolutionary, slowly knitting together his plans to change America into something it has never been, to overthrow our economic system and weaken our defenses.

Monsieur Obama envisions a new America: a European welfare state, its government the overseer of every phase of domestic life, unwilling and unable to defend its allies and interests abroad.

Let’s hear no more about “partisan warfare,” about how Republicans are the “party of ‘no’,” or about how it’s out of bounds to wish Obama to fail.

As Rush Limbaugh reasoned at the Conservative Political Action Conference last Saturday, there is a key distinction to be made: America must succeed in the war against the terrorist nations and in reviving our economy. If Obama succeeds, America cannot do either.

The Republican Party shouldn’t be the “Party of No.” It must be the “Party of ****, No.”

In his speech on Friday, Obama said, “Let me say this as plainly as I can: by August 31, 2010, our combat mission in Iraq will end.” So Obama has set a date certain for the withdrawal of American combat forces in Iraq regardless of the facts on the ground.

The president’s promise to offer an open hand to those nations that unclench their fists is being met by increased militarization and hostility from Syria and Iran. Obama cares less about Iraq than his predecessor, but Obama is repeating and enlarging on Bush’s mistakes. There is no “Iraq war” or “Afghanistan war” or a separate peace to be negotiated with the nations that sponsor terrorism. There is only one war and -- as proved by about two thousand years of history -- it must be fought and won as a whole or it will be lost in increments.

Monsieur Obama’s budget would take huge strides in revolutionizing our economy. Obama has already spent $1 trillion on an economic stimulus package that the Congressional Budget Office said was worse than nothing, having at the same time promised another $2 trillion on more bank nationalizations and bailouts, more (no one knows how much) to continue the bailout of the United Autoworkers Union and prevent the necessary reform of the auto industry, $75 billion to bail out homeowners from mortgages they couldn’t afford when they got them and another $35 billion on the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Now Obama has proposed a budget that our economy could not afford even if it were in perfect health. As even the Washington Post admits, this $3.6 trillion budget marks the biggest ideological shift since the advent of the Reagan administration.

Among the transformative legislation he aims to ram through congress are a nationalized health care system (he proposed $635 billion to start), a “cap and trade” system -- really a huge tax -- aimed at reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and a new government fund to make college tuition and auto loans. While doing all that, he also wants to raise capital gains taxes on every investor -- including the middle class. And he also wants a multi-billion dollar education bill to extend G.I. bill-like benefits to civilians who serve the government for a time.

Obama wants to spend billions to convert our economy to something it is not: a highly-regulated “green” economy supposedly saving billions by converting to the use of “clean energy.” Anyone who bought a Toyota Prius knows this is a phony argument: it takes far longer to recoup the higher costs of buying a Prius (compared to a non-"hybrid" small car of equivalent grandeur) than the Prius -- or even its batteries -- can last.

These are not investments that pay off: they are costs that breed the necessity for more and more spending. They are new entitlement programs that benefit only ideological constituencies. By comparison, Medicaid is a bargain.

As my friend Larry Kudlow wrote the other day, Obama is declaring war on “investors, entrepreneurs, small businesses, large corporations, and private-equity and venture-capital funds.” This is how governments turn short-lived recessions into long-term depressions.

Even some liberals are chary at Obama’s ambitions. Liberal Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Ks) told the Kansas City Star, “We're just not going to be able to go there. We have no money." But realizing that is no barrier to liberals. They will spend money as fast as the government can print it.

The political fight over the Obama budget -- and the changes to our economy and defenses it includes -- is the most important fight we may ever face. And -- make no mistake -- Obama wants the fight.

In his Saturday radio address Obama declared war on his opponents. Describing his budget initiatives, the president said, “I know these steps won’t sit well with the special interests and lobbyists who are invested in the old way of doing business, and I know they’re gearing up for a fight as we speak. My message to them is this: So am I.”

It’s time for Republicans to shake off their fear of going directly against Obama. Three House Republicans told me last week that their leader, John Boehner of Ohio, continues to insist that Republicans can’t take on the president, only Speaker Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Reid. That is a major misjudgment that Republicans must disregard.

As former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney told the CPAC audience last week, “We’re at one of those rare moments in history, when the biggest tests come all at once. We don’t have the luxury of taking them one by one. We have to get a lot of things right, and all at the same time.” Just so.

The tsunami of destructive legislation coming out of the White House is moving so fast that many House Republicans feel overwhelmed. As fast as one bill comes up, another is queued up right behind it. This week the House will take up and pass the patently unconstitutional bill to give the District of Columbia a voting representative in the House.

But those House Republicans -- and the Senate conservatives -- have to shake off their fear of opposing Obama. His budget “state of the union” speech lifted the veil. Mr. Boehner and the rest of the Republicans on both sides of Capitol Hill will lose many battles, but they will lose them all -- and destroy what credibility they are regaining -- if some continue to timidly refuse to say that their central opponent isn’t Pelosi or Reid: it’s Obama.

The latest Rasmussen poll shows Obama’s approval ratings have slipped to 58%, down more than ten points from his pre-inaugural high. Even the most faint-hearted Republicans should take courage from that.

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
White House nightlife under investigation
'This party atmosphere sends the wrong message'
Posted: March 07, 2009
12:20 am Eastern

By Bob Unruh
© 2009 WorldNetDaily

An organization that serves as a watchdog on the U.S. government for American taxpayers has launched a campaign to uncover exactly how much tax money is being spent on parties at the Obama White House.

The president has shown a penchant for lavish galas, such as the huge assembly orchestrated in Denver when he accepted his party's nomination for president – an outdoor gathering for some 75,000 featuring a stage with Greek columns. He also held a multimillion-dollar victory celebration in Chicago, and his fancy inauguration cost an estimated $170 million, according to ABC News.

Now, Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, told WND today he's seeking information about the partying in the White House since the Obamas moved in.

As WND reported this week, Freedom Watch is seeking information from the federal government on who had input into bailout legislation and whether they got anything in return.

Klayman said the reports of the partying at the White House, "with the likes of Steve Wonder and other high priced entertainment stars," will be the focus of document requests being submitted to the General Services Administration. The requests will seek to determine how much taxpayer money is being used.

"Barack and Michelle Obama have been throwing taxpayer funded parties nearly every night with their 'friends' and supporters, with Michelle Obama even exhorting them not to 'break' White House property," Klayman's announcement said.

"This party atmosphere sends the wrong message to the American people. As the Obama-Clinton crowd party on, the American people are suffering greatly," Klayman said.

"It was right to criticize corporate execs for using taxpayer bailout money on bonuses and corporate junkets. In the face of this criticism, it is an outrage for Barack and Michelle Obama to party on, as Rome burns. It's like throwing a party at a funeral," he said.

According to a report by the news and commentary website Politico, many of the parties have been just that – parties, not political and government meetings.

"Using one of the world’s most famous private residences as bait, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are unleashing a bipartisan charm offensive and exploiting every square inch of their new home to make friends and influence rivals. The social calendar suggests a return to the days of Camelot," the report said.

"Since moving into their new digs, the first couple has hosted a half-dozen gatherings – from bipartisan cocktail receptions to a public open house to the more intimate Super Bowl party ... ending many of their days past midnight," the report said.

"Most recently … the Obamas opened the White House doors to House caucus leaders from the moderate Blue Dog Democrats and the Congressional Black Caucus. White House aides say the couple hopes to make the Wednesday cocktail parties a tradition."

The report quoted White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers saying the Obamas want to "replicate the same kind of environment they had in Chicago."

"If there was a party or an event [in Chicago], they were there," the report quoted "a friend" saying.

But is anything of government value accomplished?

"You would have felt like a fool talking about politics at this party," said Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., said after one major event. "I was surprised how much of a social event it was and how little of a political occasion it was."

Insiders said in the report that the Obama social schedule is busier than any other previous occupants of the White House.

"We haven't seen this kind of entertaining in a really long time," Dee Dee Myers, former White House press secretary to Bill Clinton, said in the report.

According to an ABC report, many of the parties have been on Wednesdays, and the report confirmed one featured a Stevie Wonder concert.

"This is a pretty big house, so we get lonely," the report said Obama announced. "It's hard for me to move around out there some times so I got to bring the world to me." Published reports said the Jonas Brothers were on hand in the White House for a special event for the Obama daughters, Sasha and Malia, on inauguration night.

Dinners have featured lavish menus including "Celery Soup, Wild Mushroom Crisps, Steelhead Salmon with Citrus sauce, Crispy Spinach, Toasted Saffron Couscous Pearls, Baby Iceberg lettuce with Maytag Bleu Cheese and Yogurt ranch dressing and for dessert, Milk Chocolate velvet cake" – all served on gold-rimmed china.

Klayman has taken on the establishment in Washington several times, including when the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee interviewed Sen. Hillary Clinton for her appointment by Obama as secretary of state.

The senators, however, ignored the shady parts of her background involving "Chinagate" and "Filegate," he said.

In the Chinagate scandal, documented on the website for Judicial Watch, which Klayman previously led, technology companies allegedly made donations of millions of dollars to various Democratic Party entities, including President Bill Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign, in return for permission to sell high-tech secrets to China.

"Filegate" developed when President Clinton and Hillary Clinton were accused of violating the privacy rights of their perceived political enemies by wrongly accessing and misusing the FBI files of staffers in the Reagan and George H.W. Bush administrations, among others.

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL
Alan Keyes launches 'Liberty' blog - Page 1 of 2
Warns of 'Obama's push to make U.S. Soviet-style state'
Posted: March 07, 2009

By Drew Zahn
© 2009 WorldNetDaily

Alan Keyes, a 2008 presidential candidate who now is a plaintiff in one of the many lawsuits seeking to verify whether Barack Obama qualifies under the U.S. Constitution's requirements to occupy the Oval Office, has launched a new blog website where, according to the site, "faith gives reason for citizen action."

"Given Obama's push to overturn constitutional government and make the U.S. a Soviet-style state," Keyes told WND, "I think it's more important than ever that those of us who believe in liberty deliberate and work together."

Keyes' new Liberty site includes a variety of blog posts, comment boards, polls, podcasts and even Twitter updates.

Keyes also announced his intention to update the site daily with views and comments on current events, including plans to serialize longer works that may be published later as books or pamphlets.

Never one to mince words, Keyes made headlines recently by calling President Obama a "radical communist" and suggesting "we are either going to stop him or the United States of America is going to cease to exist."

On Loyal to Liberty, Keyes explains in more detail.

As part of a post called "Obama's a communist: Why is it name calling?" Keyes explains that "communism" is simply an accurate descriptive term of policies, but after years of watching it fail in the Soviet Union, those to whom the term fits would rather not be associated with communist history.

"The enemies of freedom do their best to limit or eliminate words that interfere with their design for despotism," Keyes writes. "They especially seek to stigmatize and discourage the use of words freighted with the sad and tragic history of tyranny and dictatorship. That's why the use of the word 'communist' to describe Barack Obama has aroused such furious diatribe and aspersion."

Keyes continues, however, by alluding to the saying: "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck."

"It's easy to understand," Keyes writes, "why folks who are looking, waddling and quacking like communists would rather we called them messiahs."

Keyes then follows with a list of 15 ways in which he suggests Obama has been "quacking" like a communist.

Other recent posts include a theological series on the foundation of society, criticism of the two-party system and the Republican Party and thoughts on the federal "stimulus" package.

As WND has reported, Keyes has brought one of the nation's many legal challenges that have alleged Obama does not meet the "natural born citizen" clause of the U.S. Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, which reads, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

Where's the proof Barack Obama was born in the U.S. or that he fulfills the "natural-born American" clause in the Constitution? If you still want to see it, join more than 300,000 others and sign up now!

Some claim Obama was not born in Hawaii, as he insists, but in Kenya. Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

The Keyes case is being handled largely by Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation. Others playing a key role in the legal actions include Orly Taitz of California and Philip Berg, both of whom already have had their arguments rejected as not worthy of hearing by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Here is a partial listing and status update for some of the cases over Obama's eligibility:

    * New Jersey attorney Mario Apuzzo has filed a case on behalf of Charles Kerchner and others alleging Congress didn't properly ascertain that Obama is qualified to hold the office of president.

    * Philip J. Berg, a Pennsylvania Democrat, demanded that the courts verify Obama's original birth certificate and other documents proving his American citizenship. Berg's latest appeal, requesting an injunction to stop the Electoral College from selecting the 44th president, was denied.

    * Leo Donofrio of New Jersey filed a lawsuit claiming Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court but denied a full hearing.

    * Cort Wrotnowski filed suit against Connecticut's secretary of state, making a similar argument to Donofrio. His case was considered in conference by the U.S. Supreme Court, but was denied a full hearing.

    * Former presidential candidate Alan Keyes headlines a list of people filing a suit in California, in a case handled by the United States Justice Foundation, that asks the secretary of state to refuse to allow the state's 55 Electoral College votes to be cast in the 2008 presidential election until Obama verifies his eligibility to hold the office. The case is pending, and lawyers are seeking the public's support.

    * Chicago attorney Andy Martin sought legal action requiring Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to release Obama's vital statistics record. The case was dismissed by Hawaii Circuit Court Judge Bert Ayabe.

    * Lt. Col. Donald Sullivan sought a temporary restraining order to stop the Electoral College vote in North Carolina until Barack Obama's eligibility could be confirmed, alleging doubt about Obama's citizenship. His case was denied.

    * In Ohio, David M. Neal sued to force the secretary of state to request documents from the Federal Elections Commission, the Democratic National Committee, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama to show the presidential candidate was born in Hawaii. The case was denied.

    * In Washington state, Steven Marquis sued the secretary of state seeking a determination on Obama's citizenship. The case was denied.

    * In Georgia, Rev. Tom Terry asked the state Supreme Court to authenticate Obama's birth certificate. His request for an injunction against Georgia's secretary of state was denied by Georgia Superior Court Judge Jerry W. Baxter.

    * California attorney Orly Taitz has brought a case, Lightfoot vs. Bowen, on behalf of Gail Lightfoot, the vice presidential candidate on the ballot with Ron Paul, four electors and two registered voters.

In addition, other cases cited on the RightSideofLife blog as raising questions about Obama's eligibility include:

    * In Texas, Darrel Hunter vs. Obama later was dismissed.

    * In Ohio, Gordon Stamper vs. U.S. later was dismissed.

    * In Texas, Brockhausen vs. Andrade.

    * In Washington, L. Charles vs. Obama.

    * In Hawaii, Keyes vs. Lingle, dismissed.

WND senior reporter Jerome Corsi had gone to both Kenya and Hawaii prior to the election to investigate issues surrounding Obama's birth. But his research and discoveries only raised more questions.

The governor's office in Hawaii said there is a valid certificate but rejected requests for access and left ambiguous its origin: Does the certificate on file with the Department of Health indicate a Hawaii birth or was it generated after the Obama family registered a Kenyan birth in Hawaii, which the state's procedures allowed at the time?

Brothers and Sisters,

I'd like to take this back to a more pleasant subject for at least one more post in this thread. We can look around us and see all kinds of problems, but GOD hasn't changed. All of the promises of GOD are REAL and WILL BE DONE! YES, these are going to be difficult times, but this world isn't our HOME. I honestly believe that CHRIST is going to come soon to RAPTURE HIS CHURCH HOME TO GLORY!

As Christians, our time left on this evil earth is growing short. This does not hint that we should lay down or get lazy. Just the opposite - we have important work left to do for the LORD. Everything we do for the LORD will be a reasonable service, and what we do for the LORD will make our joy more full for the remainder of the time we have left on this earth.

Love In Christ,
Tom

2 Corinthians 4:1-18 NASB  Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we received mercy, we do not lose heart,  2  but we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.  3  And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,  4  in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.  5  For we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake.  6  For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.  7  But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves;  8  we are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing;  9  persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;  10  always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.  11  For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.  12  So death works in us, but life in you.  13  But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak,  14  knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you.  15  For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.  16  Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day.  17  For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison,  18  while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

It seems it is getting harder to talk about God on the internet. I have given up on trying because it always ends with mocking and no seeds are planted.

Hi Brother David,  The Lord told us that we would be mocked and persecuted for His name's sake and with more frequency in the last days.  We should not however stop planting seeds.  You never know when just the smallest thing that you share will hit ripe ground.  It is true that in the last days people's hearts will be hardened but as long as the Rapture has not happened yet there are still people who's hearts are ripe and hungry for the hope and love of our Lord.  So just keep right on planting those seeds my brother for the Glory of our King!

With so much negativity and evil that there is today it is easy to get discouraged. As grammyluv said we never know when something we have said or done will land in the right spot to be fruitful. As Paul said and it says in grammy's sig line let us continue to fight the good fight so that we may one day hear "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."

The more that evil rears it's head the more important it becomes for the word of God to be heard.

2Ti 2:1  Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2Ti 2:2  And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
2Ti 2:3  Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

AMEN AND AMEN!

I'm really glad that this topic came up. I think that we all have similar feelings from time to time. We are just humans, and we do bend under opposition at times, especially when we think that we're being assaulted from all directions and fighting a losing battle. However, sharing the GOOD NEWS and the GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD is NOT like other battles being fought in this world. Again, I'm very happy that this topic came up because I think we all need to discuss this and think about it often. All Christians have these thoughts of being overwhelmed and losing from time to time, including the Apostle Paul. This is another reason why I love to read and study Paul's Epistles. Paul readily admitted the battles within himself and his thoughts of inadequacy, but the Apostle Paul also talked about the cures. The cures are the most beautiful parts of Paul's Epistles.

The evil and sin in Paul's life was considerable before he was SAVED, and Paul called himself the "Chief of Sinners". All of the information given about the life of the Apostle Paul makes him appear to be more real and human - JUST LIKE US! As Christians, we are like the Apostle Paul after he was SAVED. Paul was never alone again through persecution, beatings, imprisonment, and eventual beheading. GOD was with Paul through it all, and the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD lived in his heart. Paul's ministry was during a time when Christians were hunted and killed. Paul had somewhat of an advantage because he was a Roman citizen, but FIRST Paul was a Citizen of Heaven and a Child of the KING OF KINGS! This was more than enough to make many Romans hate Paul, but we also have to remember that Paul was a Jew. The Romans also hated Jews, but this isn't nearly all of the story. The vast majority of the Jews also hated Paul because JESUS CHRIST was his LORD and SAVIOUR! Do any of us have this many enemies?

GOD put many powerful words in Paul's mouth, and those words still echo today. Remember that GOD chose Paul to reveal the mystery of JESUS CHRIST and the CROSS - the greatest and most precious event in human history. Paul suffered all and gave all to share the GOOD NEWS, and I want to just give you a few samples for all of us to think about:

Isaiah 55:6-13 ASV  Seek ye Jehovah while he may be found; call ye upon him while he is near:  7  let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto Jehovah, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.  8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith Jehovah.  9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.  10  For as the rain cometh down and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, and giveth seed to the sower and bread to the eater;  11  so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.  12  For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields shall clap their hands.  13  Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir-tree; and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle-tree: and it shall be to Jehovah for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

Paul was a Bible Scholar of the Old Testament and knew that GOD'S WORD never returns void. If he didn't know it at the beginning of his ministry, he did at the end of his ministry. Just think about how many new places Paul went to where NOBODY BELIEVED! Regardless, Paul knew the TRUTH and was determined to share it because he knew about the great hosts of hearts at stake. Paul spoke GOD'S WORDS, and those same WORDS will endure forever. They have just as much POWER as they did 2,000 years ago, and GOD still uses them to draw the lost to HIM.

We have no idea how many people are either helped or SAVED by what we share, say, or write. That seed may sit dormant for a season or used by GOD in ways we can't dream of. GOD Promises us that HIS WORD is never wasted. As Christians, we don't WIN battles or wars - GOD DOES!

Brothers and Sisters, if you want to do a beautiful Bible Study, Study the following portion of Scripture and explore the other references.

Love In Christ,
Tom
