I wonder if it would be possible to do everything without any worries at all, regardless of the outcome(s).

That is, our day to day work, our responsibilities, our "relationships"...

Is this what would be meant by "...living by faith..." ?

Ooooo – Sym – you are opening up a whole new can of worms with that one, aren’t you?   Grin
That would be a little like ‘heaven on earth’ would it not?

We hear over and over and over again “Let go, let God”, “Jesus tells us to live one day at a time” – but I think living (on this earth) without worry would be impossible.

But then, as a past president once said “Define IS” – so I would have to ask, what are the subtle differences between worry and concern, or worry and caring, or worry and fear, or worry and trepidation - or are they all the same covered under the generic word 'worry'?  I don’t worry about dying, but every time my 17-year old is out driving I worry about her dying (because I am concerned and I care what happens to her).

Personally, I think we are stuck with worrying.  I believe God gives us comfort and relief through prayer as He has promised HE would, but He doesn’t completely remove the feelings of worry.

So chalk another one up for the glories of Heaven – where there will be no more worrying and no more tears.  No anxiety, no trepidation, no apprehension, no foreboding.

I think it depends. I think if we had perfect trust in God, then yes. But I think we have vulnerable spots in our minds where we do care about the outcome. And God may systematically bring them to the top and put us in the situation, and then show us how it turns out fine, even though it didn't turn out the way we wanted it to. In fact it will turn out better.

But we can't always see how something is good for us, and that is why we do not trust. How can you say the death of someone you love is for the best? The rare person can say it was better for their soul; they were headed on a wrong path, or whatever. But many people will not be able to do this. But based on God's grace, which comes in different proportions, we will be able to live by faith. Not to say we can't pray for more grace and attend to the means and increase it according to God's will, but in practice we don't always  do these things. Because things are too important to us. We weed these things out, or the importance out, rather, but there's always something. Perhaps temperament has something to do with it. The more we have our hearts set on an outcome, the less we will live by faith.

Hmmmm.

So see, that's sorta what I b een thinkn' 'bout.  We're "goal oriented".

I think that's opposite of faith.

Of course, you can have faith that your goals will come about!!

Sure-if it is God's will. Nothing like putting all your faith in it and then it's not!! Cheesy

If I may, Let me ask you this. Why do you worry, unless your worry convicts you of sin. For after all, there is no worry to those who are doing right. Your conscience must be your guide. For law is only given to lawbreakers, it is not given to those who need no law, and law is that which convicts us all of wrong. Therefore, Love all as yourself, and you will fulfill the law, thus setting yourself free from any law breaking. I understand that we are not justified by the keeping of the law, yet one must also understand that all laws are only made for lawbreakers. You do not make a law, in any society that states thou shalt not murder, unless one already understands, that there are murders among you. Now do you? Live a peaceful and gentle and quite life in Christ Jesus, for this is Godly. And what is Godly? loving your neighbor as yourself. For in these understandings, you certainly need no law. Now do you? Unless you desire someone to murder and injure you. Which I think not. Truth is so simple. For if you, do not love your brother whom you do see, how shall you say, you love God whom you do not see. For love does no harm to its neighbor. Just as God has done no harm to you and desires only your well being and welfare above all else. For He is your Father. I belive I have said enough. Forgive me if I have rattled on to much.
