Tea Party revolution brewing

The kettle's whistling. Tea Parties are popping up all over the country. People are flocking to these sites which have cropped up practically overnight in search of information about rallies, demonstrations and Tea Parties in their cities. The revolution is brewing!

"Somebody in our government needs to finally pay attention. It is what I've been talking about that was coming for a very long time and that is disenfranchisement which will turn into anger and then turn into God knows what," Glenn Beck said Friday on his radio program about CNBC'S Rick Santelli's passionate comments made Thursday from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Mark the date: February 19, 2009 when Santelli might have unwittingly fired a shot signaling the beginning of The Great Revolution, spawning dozens of citizen Tea Party Protests across the country. Responding to Santelli's passionate comments, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs suggested Santelli drink a cup of decaf coffee. We prefer tea.

TCOP (Top Conservatives on Twitter) are coordinating simultaneous nationwide rallies and demonstrations for this Friday at noon ET in Chicago,Washington D.C., Fayetteville, N.C., Pittsburgh, Penn., San Diego, Calif., Fort Worth, Texas, Tulsa, Okla., Oklahoma City, Orlando, Fla., Omaha, Neb., Atlanta, Ga., and elsewhere in Missouri. More cities are joining in every day.

Fed up Americans in Orlando, a group of frustrated citizens will host one on March 21st, while on Florida's Space Coast similar plans are under way. Kristinn Taylor, Free Republic media spokesman, is organizing Central Florida Freepers for a coordinated effort.

Michelle Malkin's round-up about the growing Tea Party movement was the lead story over the weekend at her blogsite.

Forty-two lawsuits have been filed demanding that Barack Obama produce his vault certificate of birth and prove he's a natural born citizen as required by the Constitution. The tipping point may have been reached to achieve legal critical mass when four Tennessee legislators signed on as plaintiffs in a new lawsuit forcing Obama to prove his U.S. citizenship.

Tennessee State Rep. Eric Swafford and attorney Dr. Orly Taitz spoke about the lawsuit on my radio program.

Former U.S. Ambassador and presidential candidate Alan Keyes is among those filing suit. WorldNetDaily's Drew Zahn reported on Keyes' comments in an article over the weekend which included a video in which Keyes boldly calls Obama a communist.

Last November, WND senior staff writer Jerry Corsi went to Kenya in search of Obama's birth roots but was taken into custody and held before being unceremoniously booted out of the country.

I was a Marine for only a short time, I feel bound by an oath I took to defend, with my life, the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I also don’t remember there being a time limit, on the oath I took.

If Obama and tries to use the Armed Forces as a means to execute things that violate the constitution (like disarming U.S. citizens, etc.) he may at the least have a mass refusal by members of the military, at worst we may see mass mutiny. I think that is why he wants a “civilian defense force” that he can personally control.

Guard with jealous the public liberty, suspect anyone whom approaches that jewel” -  Patrick Henry 1776

Even though I finally started praying for Obama, I do have a Godly world views and strong morals. I know this world is heading towards the toilet, and about to be flushed. Do I like it, no I don't. One thing I remember though, no matter what, God is in control.

Brothers and Sisters,

There's a significant portion of the population who have taken that oath, and they meant it. Some have taken that oath multiple times and meant it to the extent that they put their lives at risk for it most of their lives. There are several generations still living who took that oath, and they still mean it whether they are still working or retired - healthy or disabled. If the government is smart, they will listen and pay attention to these folks who have given so much.

Sneaking things in won't work. It doesn't matter if they label it in the name of emergency. We are more intelligent than they give us credit for, and we see what they're doing. First, we won't allow any entity to take away our RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS - PERIOD - END OF STORY! Second, we won't tolerate SOCIALISM OR COMMUNISM. Third, we refuse to become servants or slaves of government. The government is a servant to the people, and the people are in CHARGE. That won't change. Last, we won't allow a tiny percentage of ultra-left loons take over our country. We'll put them in prison and replace them with representatives who will obey our laws and Constitutions.

I keep saying "We" without saying who "We" are. We are Americans of all different races and nationalities. We are the backbone of the country, and we are generations who shed sweat, tears, and blood for what we believe in. Many of us died for it and won't give it up. Those who are determined to practice socialism or communism can seek asylum in Red China. WE WILL NOT GIVE UP EVEN ONE OF OUR RIGHTS, FREEDOMS, OR LIBERTIES!

Senator echoes Tea Party rally cry
'People have to show that they're not going to take it anymore'

Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., a staunch opponent of the federal government's increase in size and spending legislated by President Obama's stimulus package, has issued a call for Americans to stand up – literally – and take back their freedom.

"I would think it's time to start thinking about peaceful demonstrations," DeMint said in an interview with Georgia's Augusta Chronicle. "The power of the people is there. Freedom is in the people's hands right now, and it's about to slip through."

DeMint lobbied his fellow Senators to resist the $787 billion stimulus package's new federal regulations in the areas of education, medicine, welfare spending and other arenas – all to no avail, as three of his fellow Republicans joined all the Democrats in the Senate to approve the massive spending bill by a vote of 60-38.

Disappointed by the outcome on Capitol Hill, DeMint is now calling on the common people to resist government actions he sees overflowing constitutional bounds.

"Really, I think the hope right now is not in Congress to make the right decision, because they're not," DeMint says. "It's just whether or not the American people are going to stand up and say enough is enough."

DeMint told the Chronicle despite the economic times that are pressing people into advocating the massive federal expansion, he still sees those that value their freedom over the government's handout, a group of people he called a "remnant."

"That's all it is," he concludes. "But that's all it takes. … Freedom is in our hands; it always has been. We've entrusted it to people in Washington, and increasingly they have picked our pockets and pulled power from us."

"People don't need to look to Washington," DeMint continued. "It's the people's government. And the people are going to have to take it back. They can do it with their voices and with their votes – and they may have to do it with their legs. People are going to have to show that they're not going to take it anymore."

What exactly, does DeMint advocate the "remnant" do? Apparently, make a noise in the government's seats of power.

"I think some of these folks," DeMint said, "might think twice if they had several hundred people standing outside one of their state offices asking, 'What in the world are you thinking?'"

DeMint's comments, as it happens, come at a time when many Americans are responding to a remarkably similar rally cry: the call to a new American Tea Party.

As WND reported, CNBC analyst Rick Santelli became a YouTube sensation after he spoke out against President Obama's proposed $275 billion deficit-financed homeowner bailout plan and other massive spending measures with a call for a new "tea party" from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

In a nearly three-minute rant that drew approving hoots and comments from nearby traders, Santelli said the Obama administration's promotion of bad behavior must be causing the Founding Fathers to roll over in their graves.

"We're thinking of having a Chicago Tea Party in July," Santelli told CNBC "Squawk Box" co-anchor Joe Kernan. "All you capitalists who want to show up at Lake Michigan, I'm going to start organizing."

And while White House press secretary Robert Gibbs responded by downplaying Santini's argument, saying that "the verdict is in on that" and offering to buy Santelli a cup of coffee, "decaf," a wave of Americans have decided to take a page out of U.S. history's account of the Boston Tea Party and take Sentelli up on his suggestion.

An group called Top Conservatives on Twitter, for example, is planning protest "tea parties" for this Friday in Los Angeles, St. Louis, Trenton, N.J., and Lansing, Mich.

According to WND columnist Andrea Shea King, TCOT is planning additional Friday rallies and demonstrations in Washington, D.C., Fayetteville, N.C., Pittsburgh, Penn., San Diego, Calif., Fort Worth, Texas, Tulsa, Okla., Oklahoma City, Orlando, Fla., Omaha, Neb., Atlanta, Ga., and elsewhere in Missouri, with more cities joining in every day.

Floridians Unite is looking down the road and planning an Orlando Tea Party for March 21.

"This will be a peaceful rally to unite our voices and express the love that we have for our great nation and the principles it was founded on," states the Floridians Unite website. "We want to make our politicians hear loud and clear that we are tired of the bailouts, the wasteful Washington spending and the push towards the socialization of this country! We want less government! We want to decide where our hard-earned money goes instead of the elitist politicians in Washington taking it and using it to buy votes, doling it out to special interest groups and pork barrel projects! We want our constitutional rights preserved and protected, not trampled on!"

At the Pennsylvania Tea Party on April 11, organizers are inviting people to help them reenact the Boston Tea Party of Dec. 16, 1773, by bringing one tea bag each to Point State Park in Pittsburgh with plans of actually tossing the tea into the Alleghany, Monongahela and Ohio rivers.

"Somebody in our government needs to finally pay attention," said Fox News Channel host Glenn Beck on his radio program last week. "It is what I've been talking about that was coming for a very long time, and that is disenfranchisement, which will turn into anger and then turn into God knows what."

For Sen. Jim DeMint, he's hoping it will turn into "peaceful demonstrations."

Rick Santelli is hoping those demonstrations will result in real change.

During the televised segment where Santelli revived the term "tea party," CNBC panelist Wilbur Ross, chairman and CEO of WL Ross & Co., interjected, "Rick, I congratulate you on your new incarnation as a revolutionary leader."

"Somebody needs one," Santelli responded. "I'll tell you what, if you read our Founding Fathers, people like Benjamin Franklin and Jefferson, what we're doing in this country now is making them roll over in their graves."

Hello Pastor Roger and All,

There is great sadness in what we see happening every day. It doesn't make sense for who we are and where we've been. It certainly doesn't make sense for the generations who have given so much. It should be apparent by now that we've only seen the beginning, and worse is yet to come. They've made it clear where they are going, and the vast majority has NO DESIRE to go in that direction. YES - I think it is past time for us to tell them NO!

There are many peaceful things we can do to send a clear message "NO!" I'm being nice when I say that we have juvenile delinquents trying to run a country, and they either don't have a clue - OR their AGENDA IS CRIMINAL! Everything has to be QUICK AND FAST so that the people don't have the time to figure out what they're doing. What they're doing isn't pretty! Bluntly, it appears that some have decided to take advantage of a hard time and sell us out for COMMUNISM! CONNECT THE DOTS AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHO ALREADY OWNS BIG PORTIONS OF THIS COUNTRY! TRY TO ALSO FIGURE OUT WHO'S PAYING FOR THE DRUNKEN SAILOR BIG SPENDING BEING DONE RIGHT NOW! YOU'RE GOING TO FIND OUT THAT IT'S RED CHINA AND ISLAM! Count the dots and try to figure out any reasonable explanation FOR MULTIPLE TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS BEING BOUGHT UP BY PEOPLE WE HAVE NOTHING IN COMMON WITH! You can even shift the arrangement of the DOTS and come up with the same ANSWER! Do you really think they're doing this because they like us and want to help us out?

Join nearly 40 nationwide tea parties across U.S.
Americans say 'enough is enough,' unite to protest spending

Americans are saying enough is enough to extravagant government spending and throwing nearly 40 tea parties across the nation to protest.

Kellen Giuda, a laid-off architect, is organizing his own New York City tea party. He has invited several prominent guest speakers, including politicians, elected officials, an author, blogger, a bond trader and a former contestant on "America's Next Top Model" to speak out against excessive government spending.

"I saw Rick Santelli's rant, live, and thought it was awesome," he told WND. "All of this fiscal irresponsibility is absurd."

He continued, "Then I started hearing about tea parties, and I decided to do it. It's really exciting. There are a lot of people getting involved now."

Giuda is working with Alex Zablocki, top staffer for New York State Sen. Andrew Lanza, to coordinate the New York event. Some potential speakers include Kathleen Troia McFarland, deputy assistant secretary of defense for public affairs at the Pentagon from 1982 to 1985 under President Ronald Reagan; Brett Joshpe, conservative author and graduate of Harvard Law School; Sara-Racey Tabrizi, "America's Next Top Model" contestant and professional model and various elected officials.

The tea party will take place on Saturday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. in City Hall Park in Manhattan.

Giuda said similar nation-wide events are becoming very popular as a growing number of Americans prepare to take to the streets.

"It's time we start fighting back with our own voice," he said. "America has a history of revolting and standing up to unfair taxation. It's really fun and exciting."

I would hope this enough to get their attention and wake a few folks up. I would attend if I could. Things are far beyond the ridiculous and into the criminal. Our so-called government is running rough-shod over the people - not serving or representing them. This is not true for some of our representatives. Some of our representatives are just as upset as the people are, but they don't have sufficient numbers to stop the runaway train. The representatives of my state are an example, and they really are trying to do what's right.

It appears that about 40% of our representatives have some common sense, but they are being run over also. For the 60% of the representatives running like wild juvenile delinquents, I seriously doubt that the people in their districts approve of their antics. There has never been such a LOW approval rating for the House and the Senate - I wonder why? (NOT!) We do have some serious work that needs to be done, but it will require ADULTS with COMMON SENSE! By the way, the 40% are QUESTIONABLE, and most of them aren't standing as firm as they should. In fact, some of the 40% are slipping and falling into the same kind of conduct. There isn't any CONTEST to see who can WASTE THE MOST MONEY! We do have a crisis that involves real people who are hurting. Some of the folks who should be trying to handle the problem BELONG IN JAIL!

Fed-up Americans mobilize: More than 150 tea parties
Patriots put blazing heat on Washington, rebuke reckless spending

A revolution is brewing as American patriots and advocates of the free-market system unite in protest against out-of-control government spending – with a wildfire movement of more than 150 nationwide tea parties.

John M. O'Hara of The Heartland Institute is a member of New American Tea Party, a coalition of citizens and organizations concerned about reckless government spending, is helping coordinate a number of national tea party events.

"Our message is simple: 'Bailing out' reckless businesses and individuals is neither the burden of responsible, hard-working American taxpayers nor the role of government," he told WND.

O'Hara said there is no question the United States is facing tough economic times, but he believes many politicians are not proposing serious solutions.

"The Congressional Budget Office and countless economists say that the recent 'stimulus' packages will likely hinder, not help, our economy," he said. "Tax cuts, not tax hikes and handouts, are the quickest, most efficient means of getting our economy back on track."

O'Hara said legislators must listen to citizens who are tired of irresponsible policies so the nation can recover.

"It is time politicians heed the will of the American people and the clear signals coming from the financial sector: stop the excessive spending, cut taxes, and get out of the way. Only then will we unleash the resilient, entrepreneurial spirit of American's that has made our nation great and which will propel us through this rough patch to more prosperous times ahead.

The New American Tea Party website states, "This isn't a conservative or liberal thing. This is about government forking over billions of dollars, our money, to businesses that should have failed. This is about taking money from responsible people and handing it over to CEOs who squandered their own."

Another organization, the Political Exploration and Awareness Committee, or PEACPAC, formed a website known as ReTeaParty and accepts tea party registrations from across the nation. It also provides detailed information on how to organize tea parties and posts photos of the events.

Tax Day Tea Party, a national collaborative grassroots effort organized by Smart Girl Politics, Top Conservatives on Twitter, the DontGo Movement and many other online groups, is also promoting the events.

WND has also launched its own tea party forum so citizens may exchange ideas, information and announcements about the "revolution." After reviewing various protest listings, WND found more than 150 tea parties scheduled for upcoming months. They include the following:

Birmingham, Ala. – Wednesday, April 15, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Veteran Park on Highway 17 Valledale Road

YEAH! - People are beginning to wake up. At the same time, I'm hope that all start to realize the big agenda is much more than just foolishly spending and wasting money. Throwing money away is just one method of weakening what used to be so the powers that be can change things into what they want:  A SOCIALIST OR COMMUNIST COUNTRY.

THE BIG AGENDA MUST BE STOPPED!

I first want to make it clear that the group in the following articles I am about to post are not the same ones that are organizing the "Tea Parties" nor are they affiliated in any way other than being fellow American Patriots. I am posting these articles here in this same thread due to the last two words given in the threads title "revolution brewing." We can be assured that if the leaders of this nation doe not return to the principles this nation was founded on there will quickly be those that will stand up to them and make them accountable for their atrocities.

Soldiers pledge to refuse disarmament demands
Campaign urges members of military to 'steel resolve' to 'do the right thing'

An invitation to soldiers and peace officers across the United States to pledge to refuse illegal orders – including "state of emergency" orders that could include disarming or detaining American citizens – has struck a chord, collecting more than 100,000 website visitors in a little over a week and hundreds of e-mails daily.

Spokesman Stewart Rhodes of Oath Keepers told WND his organization's goal is to remind military members their oath of allegiance is to the U.S. Constitution, not a particular president.

He said the organization deliberately does not collect the names of those who subscribe to Oath Keepers' beliefs because of their status mostly as active duty soldiers.

He told WND he is scheduled to talk about the issue on G. Gordon Liddy's radio program tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Eastern Time, and he's begun working with "Gathering of Eagles" on several projects, including a Pro Troop Events gathering scheduled in Washington in June.

Rhodes said his goal is to "teach them more about what they swore to defend so they will be better able to see when an order violates the Constitution and the rights of the people, and is thus unlawful."

That review must be done immediately, so they have an opportunity to decide what is right and wrong and then to "steel their resolve to take a stand and do the right thing, whatever the cost," the organization says.

The U.S., Rhodes noted to WND, was launched as a natural law republic, meaning the founders recognized all rights come from God, not the government.

The founders, many of whom ended up active militarily in the revolution, rebelled "against the principle" that a king or parliament could rule them.

"That's where we are. We want to make sure men in the military understand in advance what the line is they won't cross," Rhodes said.

One testimonial posted by an active duty Army soldier, who was kept anonymous, said that message already has gotten through.

"I want you guys to know I'm with you 100 percent and so are a lot of my fellow soldiers. These kinds of discussions go on between us often, and we all know that we did not swear an oath to any politician (of either party)," he wrote.

"And just for the record not me or anyone else in my platoon would ever follow an order to disarm the American people," he wrote.

The organization describes itself as a non-partisan group of members of the military as well as peace officers "who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God."

Among the orders the soldiers are pledging NOT to obey:

   1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people. … Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.

   2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects – such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons. … We expect that warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.

   3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as "unlawful enemy combatants" or to subject them to trial by military tribunal. … Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic "militia" groups the government brands "domestic terrorists," is an act of war and an act of treason.

   4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a "state of emergency" on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state's legislature and governor. … It is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.

   5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.

   6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps. … Such tactics … by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turn[ed] entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.

   7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext. … Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used.

   8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to "keep the peace" or to "maintain control" during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.

   9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.

  10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

"We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republic," the organization's website states. "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually affirm our oath and pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

Rhodes said the organization has not even had time to complete its website, but the word is spreading so quickly through its blog that thousands of people are investigating the site each day.

Plans had been to wait on the campaign until a website was established, but recent events accelerated the effort, he said.

One such situation was a training exercise planned by the National Guard in Iowa on which WND reported.

Rhodes said the effort is not a response to President Obama or his policies.

He said the accumulation of power in the executive branch in recent years has been alarming. The fears crystallized when Obama took office and suddenly had access to the accumulated power.

That, he said, is a "powderkeg."

"We do feel in our hearts that this effort has the potential to change history for the better and to forestall or even prevent this nation from ever experiencing the horrors that plagued so many other nations in the 20th Century," the website says.

"We are convinced that it is not too late, that there can be a turning of the tide – if we (and that means you too!) can reach enough of our brothers in arms and remind them of their oath, teach them more about what it is they swore to defend, and steel their resolves to stand firm if/when their oath is tested. We feel honor bound to do all we possibly can to achieve that mission."

WND already has reported on several members of the U.S. military who have raised concerns about the implications of Obama's possible ineligibility to be commander-in-chief.

One officer who signed onto a case filed by attorney Orly Taitz, the California activist with the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation, immediately was ordered by his commanders not to speak to the media.

The officer's identity was withheld to prevent further actions against him.

Taitz said she's working with more than 100 members of the military in her case.

WND has reported on dozens of legal challenges to Obama's status as a "natural born citizen." The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, "No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President."

Some of the lawsuits question whether he was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama's American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

Other challenges have focused on Obama's citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

Due to request for donations I cannot link to the web site. The following is the foundation of this group.

Oath Keepers... Guardians of the Republic:

Military, Veterans, and peace officers who will honor their oaths to defend the Constitution, will NOT “just follow orders,” will stand for liberty, and will save the Republic, so help us God. Our motto is:

"Not on Our Watch!"

Oath Keepers: Orders We Will Not Obey

"The time is now near at hand which must probably determine, whether Americans are to be, Freemen, or Slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their Houses, and Farms, are to be pillaged and destroyed, and they consigned to a State of Wretchedness from which no human efforts will probably deliver them. The fate of unborn Millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this army" - Gen. George Washington, to his troops before the battle of Long Island

Such a time is near at hand again. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the Courage and Conduct of this Army - and this Marine Corps, This Air Force, This Navy and the National Guard units of these sovereign states.

Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, peace officers, and veterans who swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic … and meant it.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and that oath will be kept. We won’t “just follow orders."

Below is our declaration of orders we will NOT obey because we will consider them unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral violations of the natural rights of the people. Such orders would be acts of war against the American people by their own government, and thus acts of treason. We will not make war against our own people. We will not commit treason. We will defend the Republi

Declaration of Orders We Will NOT Obey

Recognizing that we each swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and affirming that we are guardians of the Republic, of the principles in our Declaration of Independence, and of the rights of our people, we affirm and declare the following:

1. We will NOT obey any order to disarm the American people.

The attempt to disarm the people on April 19, 1775 was the spark of open conflict in the American Revolution. That vile attempt was an act of war, and the American people fought back in justified, righteous self-defense of their natural rights. Any such order today would also be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason. We will not make war on our own people, and we will not commit treason by obeying any such treasonous order.

Nor will we assist, or support any such attempt to disarm the people by other government entities, either state or federal.

In addition, we affirm that the purpose of the Second Amendment is to preserve the military power of the people so that they will, in the last resort, have effective final recourse to arms and to the God of Hosts in the face of tyranny. Accordingly, we oppose any and all further infringements on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. In particular we oppose a renewal of the misnamed “assault-weapons” ban or the enactment of H.R. 45 (which would register and track gun owners like convicted pedophiles).

2. We will NOT obey any order to conduct warrantless searches of the American people, their homes, vehicles, papers, or effects - such as warrantless house-to house searches for weapons or persons.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the use of warrantless searches known as “writs of assistance” and the first fiery embers of American resistance were born in opposition to those infamous writs. The Founders considered all warrantless searches to be unreasonable and egregious. It was to prevent a repeat of such violations of the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects that the Fourth Amendment was written.

We expect that warrantless searches of homes and vehicles, under some pretext, will be the means used to attempt to disarm the people.

3. We will NOT obey any order to detain American citizens as “unlawful enemy combatants” or to subject them to trial by military tribunal.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the denial of the right to jury trial, the use of admiralty courts (military tribunals) instead, and the application of the laws of war to the colonists. After that experience, and being well aware of the infamous Star Chamber in English history, the Founders ensured that the international laws of war would apply only to foreign enemies, not to the American people. Thus, the Article III Treason Clause establishes the only constitutional form of trial for an American, not serving in the military, who is accused of making war on his own nation. Such a trial for treason must be before a civilian jury, not a tribunal.

The international laws of war do not trump our Bill of Rights. We reject as illegitimate any such claimed power, as did the Supreme Court in Ex Parte Milligan (1865). Any attempt to apply the laws of war to American civilians, under any pretext, such as against domestic “militia” groups the government brands “domestic terrorists,” is an act of war and an act of treason.

4. We will NOT obey orders to impose martial law or a “state of emergency” on a state, or to enter with force into a state, without the express consent and invitation of that state’s legislature and governor.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the attempt “to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power” by disbanding the Massachusetts legislature and appointing General Gage as “military governor.” The attempt to disarm the people of Massachusetts during that martial law sparked our Revolution. Accordingly, the power to impose martial law – the absolute rule over the people by a military officer with his will alone being law – is nowhere enumerated in our Constitution.

Further, it is the militia of a state and of the several states that the Constitution contemplates being used in any context, during any emergency within a state, not the standing army.

The imposition of martial law by the national government over a state and its people, treating them as an occupied enemy nation, is an act of war. Such an attempted suspension of the Constitution and Bill of Rights voids the compact with the states and with the people.

5. We will NOT obey orders to invade and subjugate any state that asserts its sovereignty and declares the national government to be in violation of the compact by which that state entered the Union.

In response to the obscene growth of federal power and to the absurdly totalitarian claimed powers of the Executive, upwards of 20 states are considering, have considered, or have passed courageous resolutions affirming states rights and sovereignty.

Those resolutions follow in the honored and revered footsteps of Jefferson and Madison in their Kentucky and Virginia Resolutions, and likewise seek to enforce the Constitution by affirming the very same principles of our Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of Rights that we Oath Keepers recognize and affirm.

Chief among those principles is that ours is a dual sovereignty system, with the people of each state retaining all powers not granted to the national government they created, and thus the people of each state reserved to themselves the right to judge when the national government they created has voided the compact between the states by asserting powers never granted.

Upon the declaration by a state that such a breach has occurred, we will not obey orders to force that state to submit to the national government.

6. We will NOT obey any order to blockade American cities, thus turning them into giant concentration camps.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the blockade of Boston, and the occupying of that city by the British military, under martial law. Once hostilities began, the people of Boston were tricked into turning in their arms in exchange for safe passage, but were then forbidden to leave. That confinement of the residents of an entire city was an act of war.

Such tactics were repeated by the Nazis in the Warsaw Ghetto, and by the Imperial Japanese in Nanking, turning entire cities into death camps. Any such order to disarm and confine the people of an American city will be an act of war and thus an act of treason.

7. We will NOT obey any order to force American citizens into any form of detention camps under any pretext.

Mass, forced internment into concentration camps was a hallmark of every fascist and communist dictatorship in the 20th Century. Such internment was unfortunately even used against American citizens of Japanese descent during World War II. Whenever a government interns its own people, it treats them like an occupied enemy population. Oppressive governments often use the internment of women and children to break the will of the men fighting for their liberty – as was done to the Boars, to the Jewish resisters in the Warsaw Ghetto, to the Cossacks, and to the Chechens, for example.

Such a vile order to forcibly intern Americans without charges or trial would be an act of war against the American people, and thus an act of treason, regardless of the pretext used. We will not commit treason, nor will we facilitate or support it.

8. We will NOT obey orders to assist or support the use of any foreign troops on U.S. soil against the American people to “keep the peace” or to “maintain control” during any emergency, or under any other pretext. We will consider such use of foreign troops against our people to be an invasion and an act of war.

During the American Revolution, the British government enlisted the aid of Hessian mercenaries in an attempt to subjugate the rebellious American people. Throughout history, repressive regimes have enlisted the aid of foreign troops and mercenaries who have no bonds with the people.

Accordingly, as the militia of the several states are the only military force contemplated by the Constitution, in Article I, Section 8, for domestic keeping of the peace, and as the use of even our own standing army for such purposes is without such constitutional support, the use of foreign troops and mercenaries against the people is wildly unconstitutional, egregious, and an act of war.

We will oppose such troops as enemies of the people and we will treat all who request, invite, and aid those foreign troops as the traitors they are.

9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.

One of the causes of the American Revolution was the seizure and forfeiture of American ships, goods, and supplies, along with the seizure of American timber for the Royal Navy, all in violation of the people’s natural right to their property and to the fruits of their labor. The final spark of the Revolution was the attempt by the government to seize powder and cannon stores at Concord.

Deprivation of food has long been a weapon of war and oppression, with millions intentionally starved to death by fascist and communist governments in the 20th Century alone.

Accordingly, we will not obey or facilitate orders to confiscate food and other essential supplies from the people, and we will consider all those who issue or carry out such orders to be the enemies of the people.

10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.

There would have been no American Revolution without fiery speakers and writers such as James Otis, Patrick Henry, Thomas Paine, and Sam Adams “setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Tyrants know that the pen of a man such as Thomas Paine can cause them more damage than entire armies, and thus they always seek to suppress the natural rights of speech, association, and assembly. Without freedom of speech, the people will have no recourse but to arms. Without freedom of speech and conscience, there is no freedom.

Therefore, we will not obey or support any orders to suppress or violate the right of the people to speak, associate, worship, assemble, communicate, or petition government for the redress of grievances.

— And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually affirm our oath and pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor. Oath Keepers

The above list is not exhaustive but we do consider them to be clear tripwires – they form our “line in the sand,” and if we receive such orders, we will not obey them. Further, we will know that the time for another American Revolution is nigh. If such a revolution comes, at that time, not only will we NOT fire upon our fellow Americans who righteously resist such egregious violations of their God given rights, we will join them in fighting against those who dare attempt to enslave them.

More About Oath Keepers

Oath Keepers is a non partisan association of currently serving military, veterans, and peace officers who will fulfill our oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, so help us God.

Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and not to any political party. In the long-standing tradition of the U.S. military, we are apolitical. We don’t care if unlawful orders come from a Democrat or a Republican, or if the violation is bi-partisan. We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law. We won’t “just follow orders." Our motto: “Not on Our Watch!” or to put it even more succinctly, in the words of , "NUTS!"

There is at this time a debate within the ranks of the military regarding their oath. Some mistakenly believe they must follow any order the President issues. But many others do understand that their loyalty is to the Constitution and to the people, and understand what that means.

The mission of Oath Keepers is to vastly increase their numbers.

Quote
Pastor Roger Said:

Oath Keepers... Guardians of the Republic:

Military, Veterans, and peace officers who will honor their oaths to defend the Constitution, will NOT “just follow orders,” will stand for liberty, and will save the Republic, so help us God. Our motto is:

"Not on Our Watch!"

Brother, as a retired police officer, I can still state that I think the vast majority of police officers would NOT OBEY an illegal and Unconstitutional order. In speaking for myself, I must also say that I was a Christian first and then a police officer. Much thought was involved with what I would do and not do UP FRONT - before the act - not after it. I think and hope that the vast majority of soldiers are the same way. I will honor and obey the Oath I took until my last minute on this earth. I thought the Oath I took was Good, Right, and Godly - and I still do. It wasn't taken lightly, and I do mean to keep it - retired, disabled, and all. Further, I know many retired people with varying health who meant their Oath for life. It was right to the extent that it was really TO GOD, and that's the way I took it.

This doesn't hint that I was perfect and made no mistakes. Most of my mistakes were highly technical in the legal arena, but we're not talking about highly technical issues. We're talking about very basic rights and wrongs. I honestly think that someone will have to sell a ton of lies to get any of our men and women under arms to start anything that will be revealed as WRONG. Those who start a ton of lies to these people will be making a big MISTAKE. They would be better advised to NEVER LIE to these people. Sadly, I think the attempt will be eventually made, and the results won't be pretty. They will turn on their evil master, and the vast majority of the public will be behind them. We are talking about many things that are near and dear to us, including the FREEDOM TO SERVE GOD. There are armies of elderly and ill people who will also stand up for RIGHT AND GOD against tyranny, regardless of whether they've ever taken an oath or not. This matter shouldn't be taken lightly, and those in so-called power should know that they are servants of the people UNDER THE BONDS OF LAW AND THE CONSTITUTION! THE BONDS OF THE LAW AND THE CONSTITUTION WERE UNDER GOD, AND THEY WON'T BE BROKEN! THIS IS STILL A FREE COUNTRY, AND THE PEOPLE ARE IN CHARGE! THOSE IN GOVERNMENT ARE SERVANTS OF THE PEOPLE - NOTHING MORE!

I am sure that this is also the case with the majority of Police and Military. Sadly there are some though that would support a corrupt government as we have already seen in various places on the news. This will invariably cause more chaos and pit brother against brother ...
