Hey,
I just put a lot of effort into an thread article with documented quotes and what not.  I pressed post and lost the article because the site said I'd been on for over an hour.  My message was gone like a vapor.  Is there anyway that in the future, a nice message can still say "You've been on for over an hour..." but the message NOT be deleted.
Aggravated in San Diego,
The MangoMan

I had pulled quotes from secular and religious tomes about Saddleback and Rick Warren.  I pulled out quotes by Rick himself.  It was scary.  Read my Obama post on how Rick gave his podium to Obama in 2006.  I also found that Hillary Clinton got to use it as well during an Aids Convention there at Saddleback.  Saddleback is clearly an Emerging Church.  Rick Warren wrote the foreword to Dan Kimball's book The Emerging Church, and he figures prominently in the book itself.  Rick Warren is politically active in promoting the World Church.  In writing my original article which was so gratefully deleted, I got more and more concerned the more I read from a variety of sources which have been posted on the web.  I urge you to research just a little.  This is important, especially in light of what's happening tonight...

SADDLEBACK IS HOSTING A MCCAIN / OBAMA DEBATE WHICH IS BEING AIRED BY FOX NEWS.

Admin doesn't come to the forum very often so it may take awhile for him to see this.

Some suggestions.

When you logged onto the forum did you enter a one hour time frame? If so then this is where you ran into trouble on this as when the one hour is up you will have to logon again. You can logon on leaving the "Forever" in the time box and when ready to logoff you can logoff manually. This will preclude this problem.

Whenever I am going to make a post that may take me awhile I usually type it up in another program such as Wordpad or Notebook then when I am finished typing it I use the copy and paste functions to put it into a post. This can also help to prevent losing data.

Hello MangoMan,

You've already been given an answer to the missing post problem, but I thought it would be good to mention there are many settings and choices that the user is in complete control over. You enter a choice, and the forum software carries out your choices. Please take the time to review all of the choices you make in your profile and forum settings. Everything does work, so the forum software will do whatever you tell it to. Some of the commands you can give are destructive to your account and posts, so it is important to be careful with the commands and settings. The dangerous commands have a second pop-up that asks something like "are you sure?"

I just wanted to mention this so you can review all of your account settings. If you don't understand a setting, you can either read about it in the "help" files or ask questions in the "Questions and Answers" section.

MangoMan, I also understand your concern for what's happening in many churches today. There are truly many horrible examples, many so bad that the so-called church is only a church in name only. The example that always sticks in my mind is a huge mega-church actually holding a vote about JESUS CHRIST being GOD:  YES or NO. This shocked me and I couldn't believe what I was reading. This particular mega-church was well-known. If you watch our current events area and Christian news, you'll see regular examples of outrageous things happening in churches. Many of us do believe that the End Days of this Age of Grace are drawing near. If so, Bible Prophecy clearly tells us that things are going to get much worse. We should also know that the devil will be turned loose during the Tribulation Period, and the GREAT RESTRAINER will be removed to let the devil have his way. The Tribulation Period will be 7 years of horror, suffering, and death beyond the imagination of mankind. In comparison, World War II was a picnic. Bible Prophecy also tells us about the evils of world religions. All of Bible Prophecy will be fulfilled perfectly at GOD'S Appointed time, and no power will be able to slow, hasten, or stop it.

In conclusion, please holler if you have any problems with your account settings. Many of us will be most happy to help you in any way that we can. The best place on the forum for things like this is the "Questions And Answers" section. By the way, I agree 100% with Pastor Roger's recommendation to use Notepad or some other small and quick text editor to keep copies of things you have spent time on. I keep copies of nearly everything in various folders. You'd be surprised how handy it is to go back and review something for a second look or to use it again. If you keep your copies in plain text, there are many ways to search entire directories for information you need. If the folders get too big and old, you can always zip them up for external storage. I hope this helps some.

Love In Christ,
Tom

in His own calm world, is supervising all.

Thank you for your patience with this newbie.  Smiley  I will implement strategies you two mentioned.  I guess part of my frustration was in losing what I'd read and wanted to share.  Mr. Warren is a Southern Baptist minister, but I'm deeply concerned by what I have read and how pragmatic and respected he is among the evangelical world.  I know good churches who have done the 40 Days of Purpose.  The danger is in the sowing of seeds of destruction.  Something is wrong, why aren't men of God standing up and saying this is bunk.  I talked with my pastor's son this afternoon as we were taking a break from passing out fliers for a church event.  Thankfully, he felt like I do, so some people are being discerning but others I feel are being duped.  In reading the junk this morning, I read how Mr. Warren played a Jimmy Hendrix rock song during praise and worship, said it needed to be done, and was glad he finally got to do it.  Now I kind of understand why some people have such a harsh stance on contemporary Christian rock music.  If we can't distinguish who's good and who's not, then the problem is all the more insidious.  I think I'm going to email my pastors back in St. Louis and Kansas City the stuff I read.  Maybe it's a small step, but it's something.
Sincerely,

Hello MangoMan,

Tags and labels mean something different to each person these days, even denominational names. So, things are very confusing today. One almost needs to post an entire Statement of Faith these days before others can understand what you really believe. Many churches are MUCH more liberal than Pastor Warren's. I would be of the old-fashioned SQUARE variety and conservative. Having to mix political terms is something else that isn't good in trying to describe religious beliefs, but it has become common because of confusion on top of confusion.

Most older Christians could easily and quickly make a list of "New Age" and "Modern" concepts that we disagree with. Many of the concepts being used in so-called MODERN churches boil down to false teaching and other very serious problems. Some are so serious that a person wouldn't be saved if they believe what their church teaches. We see churches splitting these days over issues that are set in concrete in the Holy Bible, and that's probably a sign of the times. The times are going to get worse. I would simply say that Biblical principles have already been set by GOD and are not subject to change by the whims of mankind, by popular vote, changing times, or any other attempted manipulation by mankind. Things are becoming LIKE Bible Prophecy said they would be in the End Days of this Age of Grace. It's quite possible that Christians won't be on this planet much longer. CHRIST could come in the clouds at any time to RAPTURE us and take us HOME.

As Christians, the best thing we can do is pray and yield ourselves to GOD for HIS use. When the times of the Tribulation Period hit, things will be horrible according to the Holy Bible. There will be false messiahs, false prophets, and false teachers springing up everywhere - AND they will deceive many. Things appear to be getting worse by the day now, so the time for reaching the lost might be short. For these reasons and many others, many Christians believe that sharing and distributing the GOSPEL OF THE GRACE OF GOD is one of the most important priorities. However, many believe differently, and we see some pretty sad examples of priorities. I could give some examples, but I think that everyone could easily think of a few.

Love In Christ,
Tom
