I'm in urgent need of a job.  I've been unemployed several months now.  I've been wondering if the Lord is trying to tell me something, I've been praying hard about this.  Been looking and applying for work across the gamut, but to no avail.  I don't know what to do, and unfortunately, I'm living with my parents again now which is not good.  My Dad has been hounding me argumentatively to get a job.  Short of pulling out a gun and demanding a job, I don't know what to do.  I wouldn't do that, but I can't make people hire me, only pray.  Dad doesn't see it that way and the pressure is mounting.  I haven't been depressed about it, just patiently finding positions and applying to them.  I've had some interviews, but no results.
Frazzled,

I'm lifting you up now Brother.

Last year I was working as a receptionist at Microsoft.  I have more education than to just work as a receptionist but I did enjoy the job. Anyway after working there for 2 years I started applying for Administrative Assit. positions and like you I was getting interviews but no offers.  I couldn't figure it out.
After 6 months of this, I got a call from a friend and mentor at a mission in Seattle for women and children asking me if I'd like to come to work for them!  Well it is where my heart had been all along anyway.  I daydreamed of working there the whole time I was at Microsoft.  Even though it meant a cut in pay, I jumped on it.  I knew that was where God was wanting me.  Then I understood why those other doors weren't opening.  God had a plan but had to take care of some other stuff first!  It is a job that I never dread getting up and going in for.  I really have never had a more fun job in my life.

I will pray for you and I will also pray for dad to lighten up a bit and have some patience.  Is Dad a Christian?  Just curious.

In Christ,
Yvette
