I am hewn of stone
Not by mortal hand
I end all kingdoms
And endure forever.
I was revealed to men
Devoted to God
Who gave up their affairs
To study His law.

OK, lets try another one.

I was said to be likened, to the kingdom of heaven,
In the NT I'm mentioned this many times.... 1+7.
Men have toiled with me from past to present,
Jesus spoke of me, in a dramatic event.
Though made by hands of sinful men,
The Lord insisted, I be used again.

What am I?

cris, no on both answers.

The thing in the riddle is not a religious thing, althought Jesus said it was like the kingdom of heaven on at least one occassion.

Good 'nough...

Daniel 2:34, 35 "Thou didst look, until that stone tare itself away, not by the aid of hands, and smote the image upon its feet, which were of iron and clay - and they were broken in pieces...but the stone that smote the image became a mighty rock, and filled all the land."

Dan. 2:44 "And in the days of those kings shall the God of heavens set up a kingdom which to the ages shall not be destroyed, and the kingdom to another people shall not be left - it shall break in pieces and make an end of all these kingdoms, but itself shall stand to ages."

There is a very similar vision revealed to Ezra (Salathiel) in Esdras, concerning a stone that was hewn not by human hand, and became a mountain that lasted forever after defeating all kingdoms. In this instance it is called "Zion".

2Tim,

Is it a tangible thing?  You said it was something the disciples used, so I'm thinking it was something tangible.
