Am I the only one that thinks that calling the RCC the first church that was started by Jesus is utterly retarded?

The church of Jesus Christ had its first congregates in Jerusalem, See Act:2.
The church at Rome did not have anymore self importance than the church at Corinth or Phillippi or any of the other congregations of God's people.
Politics and worldliness befell the church at Rome in its struggle for worldly power against the truth of Jesus Christ.

Quote
is utterly retarded?

First of all, try using some words that may not potentially be offensive to those people reading that may have sisters/brothers/family members and/or friends who may be physically or mentally retarded.

Do christians talk like that?  I didn't think so; at least until I came here (no, I take that back, the Pastors I talk with via email are just as bad - if not worse...go figure.)

Not true.
Christ's church is the only one that has as its head Jesus Christ and the only one that goes all the way back to Jesus Christ Himself. All who are obedient to the gospel of Jesus Christ, (the saved), are added to it.

This has nothing to do with Rome, Constantinople, etc.. It is Christ's church and he governs it from heaven through God's word. The very word that God, in His providence through the Holy Spirit, preserved with the help of this fallen away church in Rome. The church that did not adhere to the very printed word of God that they had a hand in giving to the world.

How far can you trace your "Protestant denomination" back?  I will venture to say, not so far.

What made these Bishops at Rome more important than the Bishops of God's other congregations?

Peter in his humbleness would scoff at such respect of persons and setting them above the others of God's holy people.

is utterly retarded?

First of all, try using some words that may not potentially be offensive to those people reading that may have sisters/brothers/family members and/or friends who may be physically or mentally retarded.

Do christians talk like that?  I didn't think so; at least until I came here (no, I take that back, the Pastors I talk with via email are just as bad - if not worse...go figure.)
Oh, please!

And here I thought, Emporer Theoudosius began the state religion known as the Roman Catholic church around 390 AD prohibiting pagan religions by edict and penalty of death.
