Sometimes I think I am just "selfish"!
I am trying to find a way to stay home, and work with the glorious gifts God gave me! I paint and write, and KNOW these are GIFTS from Him! I just have no time, with working fulltime! I am searching for a legitimate work at home job, so that I can quit my current job, and spend more time at my creative job! I also long to keep my home sparkling, to cook and just be a good wife to Jim. Is this selfish??? I have only been unemployed for a total of 3 weeks, ( in my 56 years of life)when we first moved to Florida. We NEED a bit of extra income, to supplement Jim's, until all the work is finished on our house ( may be another 2 years!!) To add to all this I have Glaucoma, and have already lost the sight in my left eye. I use medication in the right, and have pretty good vision, with a few "blind spots". Please pray that I will know His will, and how.
God Bless,

I'd pray about it, too. Because God may be calling you to work at home. Maybe this is the set of gifts He wants you to use. If that's the case, then you might want to pray that the Lord reveal this to Jim as well. What the world expects you to do and what God wants you to do can often be very different things.

Taking care of your home and your husband seems to go along with God's will for woman as far as I can discern from scripture. There is nothing wrong with working, (in the home or outside the home), to bring in more income.

No, you are not selfish.

I also agree with "Reba" and "Whitehorse".

Choose something you LIKE to do, and

Something that OTHER people like, and

Something that you CAN do.

If you begin with those three things, something will unfold, maybe quickly, but certainly gradually...

But it should all be secondary to your daily spiritual welfare..

SO glad that your husband is in agreement with you, that you might stay home! Even with all the circumstances going on around you, that bond with him is precious!
