Who's on first? I'm not a baseball fan, so I think of this famous comedy sketch every time I hear the word "baseball".

Opening Day at Safeco Field:The sold-out crowd at the Safeco Field opener fueled a 10-inning thriller, as Franklin Gutierrez doubled and scored on a throwing error and made a winner of the Mariners, who had Ken Griffey Jr. in a home uniform for the first time since 1999. Seattle 3 LA 2 My, oh my!

What happens in the 7th inning of last night's game, when the score is: LA 3 Seattle 7 ...the bases are loaded and my man, Ichiro hits a home run?! A) It's all over but the crying B) Mommy comes in Grammy's room and turns down the volume on Grammy's TV and tells Matias and Grammy to quiet down C) Matias and Grammy are giving each other "High 5's" D) All of the above

I had a wonderful time at the ball game! It was my first trip this year to Safeco and my Mariners lost 3-1, so it was a pretty slow game. I was in good company though and win or lose, I always love being there!

APRIL! And we know what that is! (Besides Spring and hopefully sunny days)......It's BASEBALL! WhooHoo! And if you've viewed any of my posts here, you'll know that I'm from Seattle since my favorite team, win or lose, is the Mariners! I didn't get to a single game last year because of financial trouble but I sure am hoping that I can take my grandson this year or even just go to some games myself! I LOVE Safeco Field! Now, I'm not one of those that can quote you all the scores and players or what position certain teams are holding on any given day, but I love going to the games or watching them on TV if I can't be there. And if the Mariners "happen" to win, I'm not above throwing it in your face! I know, I know.....it doesn't happen that often, but a new season always brings new hope with it! PLAY BALL!

Hello GrammyLuv,
I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I might be if I lived closer to a pro team and got to see them live in the park. I did get to see St. Louis play last year in the park, and we had a really good time. I think it makes a world of difference to be there instead of watching it on television. Have fun and I hope that your team has a good season.

I think it does make a difference to have your own team and to be able to go to the park. The atmosphere there is what it's really all about!
