Bradley Prizes June 4 at the Kennedy Center

by Staff
March 20, 2008

MILWAUKEE, Wisc., (christiansunite.com) -- The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation today announced details for the fifth annual Bradley Prizes to honor outstanding achievement in areas consistent with the Foundation's mission. The prizes, which include a $250,000 stipend to each recipient, will be awarded at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008.

"There are many conservative intellectuals and activists who have made a substantial impact in a variety of fields of endeavor. The Foundation has received hundreds of nominations from opinion leaders in academia, public policy and business. A Selection Committee will review the recommendations and Bradley's Board of Directors will select the awardees in March," said Bradley Foundation President and CEO Michael W. Grebe.

For nearly twenty-five years, the Bradley Foundation has advanced responsible American citizenship by supporting organizations and individuals who exemplify American ideals and innovative thinking. The 2007 Bradley Prize recipients were former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, economist Martin Feldstein, scholars Abigail and Stephan Thernstrom, and Pepperdine University government professor James Q. Wilson.

Founded in 1985, The Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation is devoted to strengthening American democratic capitalism and the institutions, principles and values that sustain and nurture it. Its programs support limited, competent government; a dynamic marketplace for economic, cultural activity; and a vigorous defense, at home and abroad, of American ideas and institutions. Recognizing that responsible self-government depends on enlightened citizens and informed public opinion, the Foundation supports scholarly studies and academic achievement.
