What old testament figure boasted to his two wives that he had killed a young man?

(Genesis, Exodus, Amos)

Lamech

(Gen 4:23 CEV)  One day, Lamech said to his two wives, "A young man wounded me, and I killed him.

I held off answering sooner because I thought maybe someone esle would like to answer some of the questions.
Personally I enjoy them I can focus a bit more in the scriptures when I start searching for the answers.
Thank you for your time in posting these, and may the Lord be with you always.

Not only is this found in one of the books that you referenced but it is found in another.

2Ki 19:36  So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
2Ki 19:37  And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

Isa 37:37  So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Isa 37:38  And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

In Hebrew, the word "Sennacherib" means "man of sin"  and "Assyria" means "sin on the increase." (ironically, Sin was the name of the pagan Assyrian moon "god"). He was an Assyrian king who reigned about 705-681 BC. The son and successor of Sargon, Sennacherib is known to Bible History from when his massive army of about 200,000 men came against King Hezekiah of Judah and made the incredibly foolish mistake of arrogantly challenging and blaspheming God.

Sennacherib's own record of his invasion of Judah, which matches the Biblical account, has been found by archaeologists. The clay prism is now in the Oriental Institute Museum in Chicago. A translated excerpt from it:

    "Because Hezekiah, king of Judah, would not submit to my yoke, I came up against him, and by force of arms and by the might of my power I took forty-six of his strong fenced cities; and of the smaller towns which were scattered about, I took and plundered a countless number. From these places I took and carried off 200,156 persons, old and young, male and female, together with horses and mules, asses and camels, oxen and sheep, a countless multitude; and Hezekiah himself I shut up in Jerusalem, his capital city, like a bird in a cage, building towers round the city to hem him in, and raising banks of earth against the gates, so as to prevent escape ... Then upon Hezekiah there fell the fear of the power of my arms, and he sent out to me the chiefs and the elders of Jerusalem with 30 talents of gold and 800 talents of silver, and divers treasures, a rich and immense booty ... All these things were brought to me at Nineveh, the seat of my government."

What the Assyrian record stops short of recording however is their eventual defeat, not by Hezekiah's army, but by God: Isaiah 37:33-37

Paul

(Act 21:26 KJVR)  Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

(Act 21:27 KJVR)  And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

(Act 21:28 KJVR)  Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

Who paid young Samuel a late night call?

(Judges, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel)

God called to Samuel

(1Sa 3:1 KJV)  And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

(1Sa 3:2 KJV)  And it came to pass at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place, and his eyes began to wax dim, that he could not see;

(1Sa 3:3 KJV)  And ere the lamp of God went out in the temple of the LORD, where the ark of God was, and Samuel was laid down to sleep;

(1Sa 3:4 KJV)  That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

(1Sa 3:5 KJV)  And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.

(1Sa 3:6 KJV)  And the LORD called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

(1Sa 3:7 KJV)  Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

(1Sa 3:8 KJV)  And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child.

(1Sa 3:9 KJV)  Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

(1Sa 3:10 KJV)  And the LORD came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.

(1Sa 3:11 KJV)  And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.

Bethsaida

(Joh 1:44 KJVR)  Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

      I am surprised that no-one else is responding to your postings here, I pray that the others who were asnwering that all is well with them.
 At any rate I do find them enjoyable and look forward to looking them up, as I said before  searching through God's written instuctions on how to live more for Christ and less for self, helps me to grow more each time.

Thank you again Dave.  Yeah I don't know what happened to the others.  Maybe it's just summer time!
I'm just coming back from 5 days off myself!  It was wonderful and so hard to get back in the swing of things!
