The Hebrew language is a most difficult one to learn. Many of the old dictionaries such, as Strong's, while good for a quick reference has many errors in them that was made by assumptions and sometimes due to a lack of there being a better English word. When referring to one tree or many trees the Hebrew word ‛êts is always used. In speaking of a grove of trees the Hebrew word is 'êshel. If there is to be an indication of it being living or alive the words chay or châyâh is used respectfully in conjunction with the word ‛êts.

Two seperate creation events....
Wait...wait...
Gen 1 and Gen 2 do have two different creation events in them. Gen 1 is Creation. While Gen 2 focuses on creation of the Garden of Eden. Man was created before the Garden was. When man was created then God created the Garden to put man. And when man was in the garden God created animals and brought them before man so that man could name them and to find a helper.
Actually they are the same creation event as it was all done in the same six days of creation.
1. Chapter 1 tells the entire story in the order it happened.
2. Gen. 2:4-6 gives a quick summary of the first five days of creation.
3. Gen. 2:7-25 is describing only the events that took place on day 6 in the Garden of Eden.
The trees described in Genesis 2:8 are only in the Garden (the rest of the world is already full of trees from day 3). The purpose of this second creation of trees may have been to let Adam see that God did have power to create, that He was not just taking credit for the existing world. Notice that the second creation of trees was still on day 6 and was only those trees that are "pleasant to the sight and good for food."
The birds created out of the ground on day 6 are only one of each "kind" so that Adam can name them and select a wife. The rest of the world is full of birds from day 5.
Genesis 2:19 is describing only the animals created in the Garden, after man. The purpose of this second batch of animals being created was so that Adam could name them (Gen. 2:19) and select a wife (Gen. 2:20). Adam, not finding a suitable one (God knew he wouldn't), God made Eve (Gen. 2:21-22). (Compare to Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.) Eve was created on day 6.
There are no contradictions between these two chapters. Chapter 2 only describes in more detail the events in the Garden of Eden on day 6.

Hi all! Just checking in to see how my long lost thread is going! Great info on the seemingly contradictions in Gen. PR! I think this is a fun way to learn.
Well I hoping to be all set up again the first part of March, but it looks like it may be April now. The place I'm moving to has some apts to remodel after the floods we had a month or so ago. Since it is all done with donations and donated time it's take a while.
In the mean time I will me moving my things to a storage unit next to the place I will be moving into and I will be staying right here at the mission!
I've said all this before but in case anyone missed it....
I will keep checking in and of course I've been posting on my "Chicken Soup" on the nights that I'm at work and have access to a computer.
In Christ,
Yvette

Hello GrammyLuv,
Sister, it sounds like things aren't very easy for many of us, but I think we are growing closer and stronger in CHRIST through our struggles. In fact, many of those struggles can be satisfying and very positive with GOD leading us along in the path HE wants us to take.
It's nice to know that many of us pray for each other every day. Maybe we could think of this short life like climbing a hill. The higher we get, the more beautiful the view. When we stop for a rest, we can think about the Promises of GOD and know this world isn't our home.
Love In Christ,
Tom

grammyluv and or Pastor Roger;
I have been checking in each day to see if there is any new trivia questions, I miss them; as it keeps at least me anyway challenged, as well as to keep me growing.
Don't get me wrong here, I am not saying that all I need is the trivia questions just to read and study Gods word and His plans He has for us. It is just that I enjoy them is all.

The only female judge of Israel, she judged the tribes from under a palm tree. Her victory song was famous. Who was she?

The only female judge of Israel was Deborah, found in and around Judges 4 I believe. Have a fantabulous day.

it is Deborah I do believe as well:
(Jdg 4:4 KJV) And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
(Jdg 4:5 KJV) And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
(Jdg 5:1 KJV) Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
(Jdg 5:2 KJV) Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
Jdg_5:1-31. Deborah's song of thanksgiving.

You both have it right.
What widowed prophetess was 84 years old when she saw the young Jesus in the temple?

Answer: Anna
Luke 2:36-38
36And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with an husband seven years from her virginity;
37And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
38And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.

What wife of David had been married to Nabal, who died when she told him of the gifts she had given to David?
(include the verses that describe Nabal's death)
Abigail was married to Nabal
The verses describing his death are:
(1Sa 25:36 KJV) And Abigail came to Nabal; and, behold, he held a feast in his house, like the feast of a king; and Nabal's heart was merry within him, for he was very drunken: wherefore she told him nothing, less or more, until the morning light.
(1Sa 25:37 KJV) But it came to pass in the morning, when the wine was gone out of Nabal, and his wife had told him these things, that his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.
(1Sa 25:38 KJV) And it came to pass about ten days after, that the LORD smote Nabal, that he died.
If I understand this right, was it because Nabal rejected not only David's requests but worst of all God? God does hold us accountable for our actions and What a terrible way to die.
I know this has nothing to do with todays trivia question, but I too do not understand where Precious2God came up feeling this way

If I am in any way, form or shape in having caused Precious2God, to feel this way. I surely did not nor wish to be a stumbling block to any Christian brother or sister, and if this is the case than please except my apology
