What church was Silas from?
(Acts, Hebrews, 1 Peter) This must be a tuff one, as I see no answer as of yet, but I'll try anyway. The best answer I found after much study was the "Jerusalem Church" which I found in the side notes for Acts 15:22 In Christian love Dave

I believe you are right Dave. My handy dandy triva book says that it was Antioch but on further research that doesn't seem to be true since he and Barnabas, Paul and Judas left from the Jerusalem church to go to Antioch. Good catch! In Christ, Yvette

Actually both are right. Silas was from the Jerusalem Church to begin with but when he went to the church at Antioch he decided to stay there and became "from the church at Antioch".

Thanks Pastor Roger and congrats to those of you who were brave enough to respond. I was going to answer Antioch but felt it was too easy.

You're most welcome, sister and please ... don't be afraid to give an answer just because you think it may be wrong. It is how we all learn more about the Bible.

Eva; How well I know that feeling too, and as Pastor Roger says this is the way we learn and grow in the Scriptures. In Christian Love. Dave

Thanks Pastor Roger! And great volley! Let me share with you something that I have always loved and helps me to not be afraid of failure: Winston Churchill was not intimidated by errors. When he made one, he simply thought the problem through again. Someone asked him, "Sir Winston, what in your school experience best prepared you to lead Britain out of her darkest hour?" Winston thought a minute and then said, "It was the two years I spent at the same level in high school." "Did you fail?" "No," replied Winston. "I had two opportunities to get it right." Coincidently I was thinking about this quote just last night and planned on using it in a paper I have to write today! Now it has come in handy twice! In Christ, Grammyluv

In Christ, Grammyluv This is also true in our walk with Christ. God does not expect us to be perfect and to understand Him completely from the beginning. We learn from our mistakes and like a loving Father that He is, He is merciful, forgiving yet staying firm in teaching us. As we have seen many times in scripture, repeating Himself to an individual when necessary and sometimes rewording it so that individual can better understand.

(Hebrews, 1 Corinthians, Galatians) 1 Corinthians 5: 1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: Thank you to everyone for all of your encouragement. Love in Christ, Eva
