What wicked king of Judah built a Syrian style altar and offered up his son as a sacrifice?

king Ahaz
2Ch 28:1 Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: but he did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD, like David his father:
2Ch 28:2 For he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel, and made also molten images for Baalim.
2Ch 28:3 Moreover he burnt incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burnt his children in the fire, after the abominations of the heathen whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
2Ch 28:4 He sacrificed also and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
2Ch 28:5 Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
2Ch 28:22 And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.
2Ch 28:23 For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, which smote him: and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
2Ch 28:24 And Ahaz gathered together the vessels of the house of God, and cut in pieces the vessels of the house of God, and shut up the doors of the house of the LORD, and he made him altars in every corner of Jerusalem.
2Ch 28:25 And in every several city of Judah he made high places to burn incense unto other gods, and provoked to anger the LORD God of his fathers.

As I was posting these questions over the past few days, I was struck with how much child sacrifices there were! I have also read many books on Satanic cults in the past and was surprised that this still happens! It is truly horrifying.
I am sure that any god that wanted me to sacrifice one of my children, I would recognize as evil. Why didn't they?
Well lets move along, shall we?
Who brought Nathanael to Jesus?

Philip
John 1:45-47 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
Missed you all yesterday. Thanks to all who were in prayer for y daughter and me.

I feel the
"Holy Spirit"
in directing me in this reply:
We find this King, Ahaz; in the book of 2nd Kings and what he did first , and in the book of 2nd Chronicles is a continuation of how he ruled over his people and what he did while he was the King of Judah.
(2Ki 16:1 KJV) In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.
(2Ki 16:2 KJV) Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.
(2Ki 16:3 KJV) But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and
made his son to pass through the fire,
according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.
(2Ki 16:4 KJV) And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

Yes I can agree with you in this response, that I too would know it was coming from Satan. And, this only because of being on this side of the "cross" and having the indwelling "Holy Spirit", praise the LORD!
Other-wise we would have to trust in God, and that He (God) will make all things right just as He did when He told Abraham to take his 1st born son and offer him up as a burnt offering in Genesis 22.
(Gen 22:1 KJV) And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
(Gen 22:2 KJV) And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
(Gen 22:10 KJV) And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.
(Gen 22:11 KJV) And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.
(Gen 22:12 KJV) And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.
(Gen 22:13 KJV) And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.
I thank you Grammyluv for these postings of "Bible Triva" as it surely does help, atleast in my case, one to search thier Bible for these answers which in turn helps to increase our knowledge of the Bible, which is just what God wants us to do. 2nd Timothy.
(2Ti 2:15 KJV) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

A: the church at Jerusalem
In Acts 6:1 "And in those days" is referring to when the Apostiles were preaching the gospel in the Church at Jerusalem.
(Act 6:1 KJV)
And in those days
, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration.
(Act 6:2 KJV) Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
(Act 6:3 KJV) Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
(Act 6:4 KJV) But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
(Act 6:5 KJV) And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:
B: the church at Jerusalem
(Act 8:14 KJV) Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

Apollos
(1Co 3:6 KJV) I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
(1Co 3:7 KJV) So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

It was both Aquila and Priscilla.
Act 18:1 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;
Act 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.
1Co 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.
Apollos was a follower of John the Baptist that Aquila and Priscilla taught "the way of God more perfectly".
Act 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
Act 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.
Act 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
