Grin   Grin   ROFL! This is a good object lesson. A little bit of anything bad desensitizes one for MORE bad. No, I don't want any brownies.

            Directions to Our Father's House

Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd.

Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ.

There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled water.

When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight.

You are on the King's Highway - Heaven-bound.

Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost.

Then exit off onto Grace Blvd.

From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane.

Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road.

As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Ave.

Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END.

Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue.

Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd.

However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and Trials and Tribulations Ave.

But that's all right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead!

Don't We All?

I was parked in front of the mall wiping off my car. I had just come from the car wash and was waiting for my wife to get out of work. Coming my way from across the parking lot was what society would consider a bum. From the looks of him, he had no car, no home, no clean clothes, and no money.  There are times when you feel generous but there are other times that you just don't want to be bothered.  This was one of those "I don't want to be bothered times." "I hope he doesn't ask me for any money," I thought. He didn't. He came and sat on the curb in front of the bus stop but he didn't look like he had enough money to even ride the bus.

After a few minutes he spoke.  "That's a very pretty car," he said. He was ragged but he had an air of dignity around him. His scraggly blond beard kept more than his face warm. I said, "thanks," and continued wiping off my car. He sat there quietly as I worked. The expected plea for money never came.  As the silence between us widened something inside said, "Ask him if he needs any help." I was sure that he would say "yes" but I held true to the inner voice. "Do you need any help?" I asked. He answered in three simple but profound words that I shall never forget. We often look for wisdom in great men and women. We expect it from those of higher learning and accomplishments. I expected nothing but an outstretched grimy hand. He spoke the three words that shook me.  "Don't we all?" he said. I was feeling high and mighty, successful and important, above a bum in the street, until those three words hit me like a twelve gauge shotgun. Don't we all? I needed help. Maybe not for bus fare or a place to sleep, but I needed help. I reached in my wallet and gave him not only enough for bus fare, but enough to get a warm meal and shelter for the day. Those three little words still ring true.

Five Finger Prayer

1. Your thumb is nearest to you.
So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis
once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger.
Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger.
It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger.

Surprising to many is the fact, that this is our weakest finger; as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain.  They need your prayers day and night.  You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger; the smallest finger of all.

Which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others.  As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you."  Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself.. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

I posted this one quiet a while back, but it's worth a repeat....

Dart Test

A young lady named Sally , relates an experience she had in a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr. Smith. She says that Dr. Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.

One particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and knew they were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many darts. Dr.
Smith told the students to draw a picture of someone that they disliked or someone who had made them angry , and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of who had stolen her boyfriend . Another friend drew a picture of his little brother. Sally drew a picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts. Some of the students threw their darts with such force that their targets were ripping apart. Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled with disappointment when Dr Smith , because of time limits, asked the students to return to their seats. As Sally sat thinking about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing the target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus . A hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and His eyes were pierced.

Dr. Smith said only these words... " In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto Me ."
Matthew 25:40.

No other words were necessary; the tears filled eyes of the students focused only on the picture of Christ.

I love this one!

The Lord's Baseball Game

Bob and the Lord stood by to observe a baseball game.
The Lord's team was playing Satan's team.

The Lord's team was at bat; the score was zero to one, and it was the bottom of the ninth inning with two outs.

They continued to watch as a batter stepped up to the plate whose name was Love. Love swung at the first pitch and hit a single, because Love never fails.

The next batter was named Faith, who also got a single because Faith works wonders with Love.

The next batter up was named Godly Wisdom. Satan wound up and threw the first pitch. Godly Wisdom looked it over and let it pass. Ball one! Three more pitches and Godly Wisdom walked, because Godly Wisdom never swings at what Satan throws.

The bases are loaded. The Lord then turns to Bob and told him he was going to bring in His star player. Up to bas stepped Grace. Bob said "he sure doesn't look like much!". Satan's whole team relaxed when they saw Grace. Thinking he had won the game, Satan wound up and fired his first pitch. To the shock of everyone, GRACE HIT THE BALL HARDER THAN ANYONE HAD EVER SEEN.

But Satan was not worried, his center fielder let very few get by. He went up for the ball, but it went right through his glove, hit him on the head and sent him crashing to the ground. Then it continued over the fence for a home run!

The Lord's team won! The Lord asked Bob if he knew why Love, Faith and Godly Wisdom could get on base, but could not win the game. Bob answered that he did not know why. The Lord explained, "If your love, faith and wisdom had won the game, you would think you had done it by yourself. Love, Faith and Wisdom can get you on base, but only MY Grace can you get home. My Grace is the only thing Satan cannot steal."

Our Declaration of Independence

When in the course of human events it becomes necessary to separate ourselves from humanity and the sinfulness that pervades it so, a God given conscience and the Holy Spirit call us to action.

We hold these truths to be self evident, that God in six days created the heavens and the earth and all that are in them, that all of nature bears witness to Him so that all are held accountable, that the fall of man sent the world into sin, that God sent His son to redeem his children, through Jesus Christ we may reestablish the relationship with God that was originally intended for man in the garden of Eden.

To secure these rights we need simply call upon the name of Jesus and ask forgiveness for our iniquities and transgressions.  When we find the world bearing down upon us we are called to battle and to equip ourselves with the full armor of God.  We are to place upon ourselves the belt of truth around our waist, the breastplate of righteousness, our feet fitted with the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and carry the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God.  It is right for us, as citizens not of this world, but of a heavenly kingdom, to do so.

Whenever the prince of this dark world becomes destructive, as he has already proven himself to be so, it is our duty to separate ourselves from him and declare ourselves an independent nation, a kingdom of priests, citizens of a heavenly kingdom.

Satan, the current ruler of this world, has shown many grievances against us and we do so list them that all may know why we leave this world behind.  He has murdered our brethren in the nations of this world yearning for the light of the gospel and killed our missionaries.  He has killed the unborn children, still in the womb, having not a chance at life.  He has invaded governments across the world and kept godly men and women from public office.  He has shut the door to prayer in schools and caused evolution to be taught in place of the truth.  He has invaded our churches, leading many astray with ideas of a one world religion and more than one way to heaven.  He has lied to us in all areas of life, always trying to get us to reject the truth.  He has lead our children away in rebelliousness, seducing them with drugs and sex.  He has destroyed our families, breaking up marriages pledged before God as a commitment that would allow no man to separate.  He has filled our mind with philosophies that deny the existence of God.  And he has mocked God and attempted to place himself in a higher position than God himself.

For these reasons, we declare ourselves independent from this world.  We will fight Satan, knowing that he will not allow us to leave without a fight.  We will call upon God for strength.  We WILL be victorious for we know already who will win this battle.  Satan’s time is short and his sole desire is to drag as many of us to hell as he can.  We will not allow this.  For we are blood bought and sanctified by the blood of Jesus Christ.

For these reasons, we claim our independence and look forward to the coming kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, which he has gone ahead of us to prepare.

This is a call to arms for all Christians.  We have been lukewarm and weak for too long.  Satan has made a mockery of our churches and has stormed our doors, dragging away many with his lies.  It is time to take back what it ours.

Oasis Time

“But seek first the kingdom and his righteousness, and all these thing will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

Real genuine worship to the Lord God is where our innermost being is fully exposed before His eyes, where you and Him meet intimately. The Oasis sanctuary where your soul is renewed in God’s Holy presence, your sins forgiven, wiped by the Holy sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. His love sets a flame a blazed in your innermost being.

There are times in my life I find myself caught up in life with its illness, pain, trials and daily chores, leaving little room for The Lord God.

I felt the Lord God emphasize to me these gentle words:

Many times I have wanted you to see what matters most, is the condition of your heart. Do not be overly concern about things and circumstances in your life. I want you to see what is most important to your well being. My Child, you have been robed in my beloved Son’s righteousness. I want you to see the your inner spirit has a vessel ready to be filled with the gifts of my Holy Spirit. I want you to reach others around you with My love. I want you to see through My Eyes, hear with My ears, feel with My heart. Do not be concern about the outward circumstances in your life, but seek me first with your heart’s cry. I await on our time together.

So, drop what hinders you into the hands of the Lord God. Rest and receive all the love and comfort and peace the Lord God has to give you. That Oasis time with God will make the mirages of life disappear.

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (Matthew 6:34 NIV)

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (I Peter 5:7 NIV)

Hymns Of The Laodicean Church
(God’s Frozen People)
The Laodicean Church announces publication of "Church Songs," whose title, according to the editor, was chosen because "We didn’t want to turn anybody off with threatening words that no one understands anymore like ’worship’ or ’hymn.’  People in today’s society get kind of uncomfortable with too much talk about things like commitment and dedication. They’d much rather have a religion that they can turn on or off at will.  Our book seeks to meet that need."

Table Of Contents:

A Comfy Mattress Is Our God
Above Average is Thy Faithfulness
All Hail the Influence of Jesus’ Name
Amazing Grace, How Interesting the Sound

Be Thou My Hobby
