Missing NY pastor found in OH strip club

A pastor whose disappearance from a small town in upstate New York triggered a search by police and the FBI was found earlier today -- inside an Ohio strip club.

Police said that when the Rev. Craig S. Rhodenizer, 46, was confronted by an officer, he began crying and said he couldn't remember anything about the 36 hours he was missing.

But dancers at the club remembered Rhodenizer. They told investigators that Rhodenizer spent two hours drinking, soliciting dances and making threatening comments. He also said he wanted to take the dancers back to his motel, according to the police report. In his car was a bottle of Bacardi rum.

Sgt. Frank Previte, an investigator with the Lewiston Police Department, told ABC News it was one of the most bizarre cases he's seen.

"They questioned him a bit. He was very distraught, crying and hysterical," Previte said. "He did not know where he was."

Rhodenizer was discovered more than 400 miles from his Lewiston, N.Y., home by police in Riverside, Ohio, who were checking out-of-state license plates of cars parked at the club in a high-crime section of the city.

When officers ran the New York license plate on Rhodenizer's Toyota Camry, the check showed the pastor as a missing person being sought by New York police and FBI. Riverside police called authorities in Lewiston and were instructed to approach Rhodenizer.

The pastor broke down when police asked if he was Rhodenizer, crying and asking about the welfare of his wife and son, according to a Lewiston police report.

Ohio police took Rhodenizer to a hospital and towed his car.

Previte was relieved the search for Rhodenizer ended safely for the pastor, even if it was under unseemly circumstances.

"Regardless, we don't have any indication that a crime has been committed," Previte said. "And I don't see that changing."

Susan Rhodenizer, the pastor's wife, told ABC News that the family is making arrangements for her husband to return home.

"This was very much a stress-induced emotional crisis," his wife said. "He's never had any of this, historically." The family intends to seek ongoing mental health treatment for Rhodenizer.

Susan Rhodenizer reported her husband missing Wednesday after he said he was going to a Best Buy 30 minutes away to have a computer repaired. The family was scheduled to go on a vacation Thursday.

New York authorities initially feared the pastor may have been kidnapped and the FBI joined the search. They picked up a cell phone signal placing Rhodenizer in northern Pennsylvania Wednesday night, once at 9 p.m. and again at 9:30 p.m. Previte said there was no cell phone or credit card activity throughout Thursday.

Rhodenizer is the pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in the Village of Lydonville.

Police said the pastor did not have any relevant criminal history. "In our check into his background, we could not come up with anything that indicated this was stress-incuded," Previte said.

1st human-animal stem-cell embryos bring religious protests
'Experiments of Frankenstein proportion' may increase pressure for tougher regulations

The creation of the U.K.'s first part-human, part-animal embryos may increase pressure on Parliament for tougher regulations on stem cell research.

Lyle Armstrong and colleagues at Newcastle University made embryos using human cells and a cow egg, the college said yesterday in a statement on its Web site. Debate in the U.K. over the so-called hybrid embryos increased after Catholic leaders, in Easter sermons, attacked the technique used for making stem cells. Cardinal Keith O'Brien of Edinburgh said creating such embryos were ``experiments of Frankenstein proportion.''

Parliament is discussing changes to a 1990 law that governs stem cell research, including the hybrid work. U.K. scientists, who can conduct research U.S. President George W. Bush restricted in 2001, are concerned that they'll fall behind other countries if legislation before Parliament is defeated. Chinese and U.S. academics already have produced stem cells extracted from part- human, part-animal embryos.

The new hybrids ``will open the door to a better understanding of disease processes without having to use precious human eggs,'' John Burn, head of the Institute of Human Genetics at Newcastle University, said in the statement. ``Cells grown using animal eggs cannot be used to treat patients on safety grounds but they will help bring nearer the day when new stem cell therapies are available.''

Armstrong presented preliminary data last month at a lecture in Israel, and is working to verify the data, the university said yesterday.

Lobbying, Debates

In response to the criticism from religious leaders, medical organizations are organizing supporters to lobby legislators. O'Brien has agreed to a Catholic lawmaker's request that he meet researchers who want to use hybrid embryos. Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor, the leader of Catholics in England and Wales, wants a national bioethics panel established.

Two days after O'Brien's Easter sermon, Prime Minister Gordon Brown agreed to allow lawmakers in his Labour party and Cabinet ministers to vote based on their consciences as opposed to their party's position when they're polled in May or June. Three of Brown's Cabinet ministers are Catholic and may have resigned rather than support the bill.

Among the proposed changes to the 1990 Human Fertilization and Embryology Act is a provision allowing researchers to generate stem cells from hybrid embryos.

How it Works

The embryos are created by inserting DNA from the skin cell of a person into animal eggs whose own nucleus and genetic material have been removed. The law would prohibit developing hybrid embryos beyond 14 days or transferring them to a person or animal.

Embryonic cells are valued because they have the ability to turn into any of the roughly 210 cell types found in the human body. Researchers want to make hybrid embryos using the DNA of humans with incurable conditions such as Parkinson's disease, diabetes and spinal cord injury. The resulting stem cells would give another way to study the diseases and develop treatments. Human eggs are in short supply and donating them can be uncomfortable for women.

The House of Lords passed the bill in January after three hearings. Debate on it is scheduled to begin in the House of Commons in May.

That same month, the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority, the agency overseeing embryological research, gave Armstrong and Stephen Minger of King's College London one-year licenses to use hybrid embryos, after the group held public hearings on the matter.

Poll Results

The regulator cited a poll that found 61 percent of Britons it surveyed agreed scientists should be allowed to use hybrid embryos for research that might help them to understand diseases.

The Association of Medical Research Charities and the Genetic Interest Group, which together represent 245 U.K. charities for conditions such as Parkinson's disease, cystic fibrosis and multiple sclerosis, asked the 646 members of the House of Commons to support the bill in a March 19 letter.

``We've got 3 million patients in the U.K. who could potentially benefit from the treatments that could be delivered by this research,'' said Nick Meade, a policy officer for the Genetic Interest Group.

The government-backed Medical Research Council and AMRC member charities, including the Wellcome Trust, have spent about 90 million pounds ($178 million) funding stem-cell research projects in the U.K. since 2002.

Postcard Protests

At Easter Masses, Catholic worshippers were given postcards protesting against the proposals to send to their parliamentary representatives. Catholic leaders in London, Liverpool and Birmingham joined O'Brien in coming out against the bill in their sermons.

``It does seem extraordinary that the HFEA should have granted a license before there has been a full public and parliamentary debate,'' the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales said today in a statement. ``There must be a thorough public discussion about the serious ethical issues raised by the possibility of creating human-animal hybrid embryos.''

The Church opposes all research and procedures that tamper with embryos. Embryonic stem cells haven't produced any cures so far and medical research could do without them or hybrids by focusing on adult stem cells, mature cells that have developed into specific tissue types, the Catholic Bishops' Conference argues.

`Unnecessary'

``Regardless of where you stand on this issue, it's wholly unnecessary to use human embryos'' in stem-cell research, said David Alton, a Catholic layman and House of Lords member who doesn't belong to a political party. Alton unsuccessfully sought to block the hybrid embryo provision in the bill in January.

Charities are arranging meetings with lawmakers to present their case, Kieran Breen of the Parkinson's Disease Society said. His group has asked its members to contact their representatives in Parliament and let them know what is at stake for sufferers.

``If the bill or sections of the bill don't go through, that could put research and our understanding of conditions like Parkinson's back by a number of years,'' Breen, director of research and development, said.

Brothers and Sisters,

There is no such thing as improving the CREATION OF GOD. GOD had a design and purpose for all of HIS CREATION, and it was to be within HIS Will. Bluntly, the perversion of GOD'S design and purpose is evil. It really is just this simple.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Ephesians 1:18-23 NASB I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

NYC Cabbie Who Runs Anti-American Islamic Web Site Mocks GI Deaths, Calls for Shia Law In U.S.

Monday , April 07, 2008

NEW YORK, N.Y. —
A New York City cabbie who operates an extremist Islamic anti-American Web site that features violent images — including mocking the deaths of GIs in Iraq — says he’s doing the country a service by “exposing the truth.”

Yousef al-Khattab, who runs RevolutionMuslim.com from his home in Queens, told FOX News that he also wants the U.S. to embrace Islam and Sharia Law, which prohibits alcohol and can include stoning to death or severe flogging for pre-marital sex and adultery.

On any given day, log on to al-Khattab's site and a host of startling images appear:

— The Statue of Liberty, with an ax blade cutting through her side;

— Video mocking the beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl, entitled "Daniel Pearl I am Happy Your Dead Smiley ";

— Video of a puppet show lampooning U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq;

— The latest speech from Sheikh Abdullah Faisal, an extremist Muslim cleric convicted in the UK and later deported for soliciting the murder of non-Muslims.

Even more surprising is that al-Khattab runs his site from his home in Queens, New York.

And, because al-Khattab enjoys the First Amendment right to freedom of speech, all the authorities can do is watch.

Formerly known as Joseph Cohen, al-Khattab is an American-born Jew who converted to Islam after attending an Orthodox Rabbinical school, which he later described as a “racist cult.”

The 39-year-old New York taxi driver launched RevolutionMuslim.com with the mission of “preserving Islamic culture,” “calling people to the oneness of God” and asking them to “support the beloved Sheik Abdullah Faisal, who’s preaching the religion of Islam and serving as a spiritual guide.”

In 2003, Faisal was convicted in the U.K. for spreading messages of racial hatred and urging his followers to kill Jews, Hindus and Westerners. In sermon recordings played at his trial, Faisal called on young, impressionable Muslims to use chemical weapons to “exterminate unbelievers” and “cut the throat of the Kaffars [nonbelievers] with [a] machete.”

Authorities believe Faisal’s sermons have influenced 2005 London transport bomber Germaine Lindsay and "shoe bomber" Richard Reid, who attended mosques where Faisal preached.

At times, al-Khattab's postings are farcical, such as a picture of him holding the book "Nuclear Jihad" with a wry smile on his face. Other messages call for radical Muslim rule worldwide.

Al-Khattab claims the Sept. 11 terror attacks were an “inside job,” and he blames U.S. foreign policy for spawning the terrorism that carried out the attacks.

He calls Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and beheaded in 2002 by Islamic extremists in Pakistan, “a convicted spy.”

“I could care less about Daniel Pearl,” al-Khattab said in an interview with FOXNews.com. “I’m happy to see that he’s gone.”

The content changes constantly. One reason is that the fast flow of information allows messages to spread through cyberspace quickly. Another, terrorism analysts say, is to make it difficult for law enforcement to monitor the site.

Despite his radical anti-Western views, al-Khattab says he does not support terrorism of any kind.

Yet, RevolutionMuslim.com claims to be the official site of “North American representatives” for Sheikh Faisal, and it appears dedicated to spreading his radical doctrine.

He says Faisal “never said to kill innocent people” and was unjustly imprisoned. He says the real terror organizations are the U.S. Army, the CIA, and the FBI — and the National Coast Guard, “to a lesser extent.”

According to RevolutionMuslim, Faisal — who was deported to his native Jamaica in 2007 — is now receiving donations solicited on the site, including money for a new laptop and DVD burner to spread his message.

It's not illegal to post these messages or collect money for Faisal, but it would be if Faisal were designated a terrorist by the U.S. government. He currently is not listed on any government terror list; a Department of Justice spokesman could not confirm or deny if Faisal is being investigated for any terror related activity.

RevolutionMuslim may look amateurish when compared with other extremist Web sites, but it is no less of a threat, says Mia Bloom, political science professor at the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs.

“It may lead people who become radicalized by it to turn to other, more dangerous Web sites,” such as those run by terrorist organizations, she said.

Bloom characterized al-Khattab’s message as “narrow” and “misinformed” and said he is attempting to “proselytize or radicalize people who share some of these same ideas.”

“[He] has obviously been duped or is duping others because that’s not what Islam preaches,” she said.

On his site al-Khattab appears to condemn the very democracy that guarantees him the freedom to express himself — a freedom he cites in a disclaimer on his homepage:

“We hereby declare and make absolute public declaration that revolutionmuslim.com operates under the first amendment right to freedom of religion and expression and that in no way, shape, or form do we call for war against the U.S. government or adhere to the enemies of the United States elsewhere.”

Under the law FBI spokesman Richard Kolko said it is difficult to bring criminal charges against the operators of Web sites like RevolutionMuslim.com unless specific threats are made against an individual or individuals.

Kolko while not speaking directly about RevolutionMuslim said radical sites like these are not often prosecuted.

"It's usually a First Amendment right if they don't cross the threshold of making any threats," said Kolko. "There's nothing we should or could do."

“Until the rhetoric reaches the point in which it’s no longer protected speech under the first amendment, it’s hard to stop it,” said security expert, Harvey Kushner.

Fox was the only organization to run this news story, that I'm aware of. In effect, giving advertising to the radical elements seeking attention. Shouldn't this guy be in jail, I thought it was illegal to promote the overthrow of the government.

Hello DreamWeaver,

Brother, there are many laws that aren't being enforced right now - probably because of the growing control over our system by the far LEFT. Some would say that it has to do with Religious Freedom, but that can't be it because of the comparison with what's being DONE TO CHRISTIANS and AGAINST GOD! I think we are watching the demise of a once Great Country that was ONLY GREAT BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER GOD! I'm obviously talking about the REAL AND ONLY LIVING GOD - ALMIGHTY GOD - GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT - NOT anti-CHRISTS!

It's been said many times that America can only be overthrown from within, and that's what we're watching right now.

Pope seeks JPII intercession

VATICAN CITY (CNS): Pope Benedict XVI has prayed that Pope John Paul II would intercede for him with God, helping him to gather and build on the spiritual gifts that Pope John Paul gave to the Church.

The Vatican police said almost 40,000 people joined Pope Benedict on April 2 in St Peter's Square for a Mass marking the third anniversary of Pope John Paul's death.

"We pray that from heaven he will continue to intercede for each one of us, and in a special way for me, whom providence has called to harvest his invaluable spiritual heritage," the Pope said in his homily.

"May the Church, following his teaching and example, continue his evangelising mission faithfully and without compromise, tirelessly spreading the merciful love of Christ, the source of true peace for the whole world," he said.

The concelebrants included Polish Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz of Krakow, who had served as Pope John Paul's secretary for almost 40 years.

At an April 1 conference dedicated to the memory of Pope John Paul, Cardinal Dziwisz said he continued to receive hundreds of letters from people who have asked for Pope John Paul's intercession and he, himself, continued to pray for his former boss' assistance.

"I do not miss John Paul," he said. "I accompanied him for almost 40 years and now he accompanies me. When I have a problem, I turn to him and he is with me."

Monsignor Slawomir Oder, the priest in charge of promoting the cause, told Vatican Radio on March 31 that he had completed a 2000-page draft of the "positio", the official position paper explaining why Pope John Paul should be proclaimed a saint.

An official at the Congregation for Saints' Causes is examining the draft, a few adjustments are expected, and then the report will be officially submitted for judgment, Msgr Oder said

Brothers and Sisters, I think this is obscene. JESUS CHRIST is the only Mediator between GOD THE FATHER and mankind. JESUS CHRIST is ALIVE! A dead pope or any other dead man can't do a single thing for the living. Further, ALL Christians are already SAINTS! Men don't vote to determine whether a Christian is a Saint. GOD makes us a SAINT when JESUS CHRIST becomes the LORD over our lives. ALL GLORY GOES TO GOD - none to man! WE PRAY TO GOD - not man! JESUS CHRIST IS OUR INTERCESSOR - not man, especially not a dead man!

College Class Trip Takes Tour of Nevada Brothel, With Seminars From Prostitutes

Friday , April 11, 2008

PAHRUMP, Nevada  —
College student Nicki Amouri hands her camera to a friend, throws her arm over another and smiles wide as she leans in for a shot with the monument her class came to visit.

It's a typical field trip memento — except that Amouri is in a brothel. The monument is a fluffy, queen-sized bed in a Western-themed party room reserved for VIPs and big spenders.

Amouri was one of a dozen Randolph College students who toured the Chicken Ranch, a legal bordello in the desert (60 miles outside Las Vegas). Thursday's class trip, which included seminars from the prostitutes, capped a course on American consumption and "the ideas that consume us."

"I think it's fascinating, this is fun for me," said Amouri, a third year student at the private liberal arts school in Lynchburg, Virginia, that until last year admitted only women. "Not many people get to do this."

Academic and media inquiries are daily occurrences at many of Nevada's 27 legal brothels. Some shy away from the scrutiny, others, like the Chicken Ranch, welcome the publicity.

"We're always open to trying to educate the public about legalized prostitution," said Chicken Ranch general manager Debbie Rivenburgh, who acknowledged this was the first class tour request she had received in 21 years.

The brothel tour was a natural fit for a class that tells students "don't just study America — live it," said Julio Rodriguez, the director of the college's American Culture Program.

Each semester the course examines a strain of American culture and ends with a class trip. Past destinations included post-Katrina New Orleans, Walt Disney World and the Civil Rights Memorial Center in Montgomery, Alabama.

This year's focus on Nevada started with a professor's interest in water rights and conservation. It grew to include discussions of the wedding and entertainment industries and, inevitably, prostitution.

Nevada is the only state where prostitution is legal. Brothels are allowed in 10 Nevada counties, though not in Las Vegas.

As part of their research, students were assigned "The Beauty Myth," by feminist author Naomi Wolf, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," by Hunter S. Thompson, and a "20/20" episode on prostitution with Diane Sawyer, among other research, professors said.

"We gave them all the option to either opt out or express reservations privately. No one did," said Rodriguez, adding that he received no objections from parents or administrators.

Prostitutes at the Chicken Ranch had plenty of reservations. Most do not jump at the chance to talk to strangers about what they do, Rivenburgh said. They worry about friends or family finding out. They know how others see them. It can be uncomfortable.

"Ninety-nine percent of the working girls will not participate. Each woman's got her reason and her limitations," Rivenburgh said. "I couldn't have done better with the two that said yes, though."

Alexis, 38, and Alicia, "over 30," sat on white folding chairs in front the young, earnest women in the brothel's Victorian-styled parlor, usually the setting for the "lineup." They would not give their last names. The group took close notes as a handful of television cameras and reporters looked on.

A blonde in jeans and platform boots, Alexis talked about the job's flexibility and the free time it has allowed her to write a book about her life. Alicia wore a black-and-white gingham nighty and a tattoo on her left breast that read "Famous."

"I enjoy giving back what some people don't get in their lives, as far as companionship, time, just the touch of a woman," she said. The job allows her to take care of her mother and grandmother. She is also in real estate.

The introductions gave way to questions.

Do you consider yourself a feminist?

Alexis: "Most women in this business wear the pants in the family."

Is there a certain look most men prefer?

Alicia: Every man wants something different. "There's all different kinds of girls."

Why are there no brothels with male prostitutes?

Rivenburgh: Former Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss is trying.

Do you still give a military discount?

Rivenburgh: Yes.

What is the worst part?

Alicia: "Being confined, being cooped up. I have to be here 24 hours a day."

With a tour and time to mingle, the students packed up gift bags containing a menu of services, a Chicken Ranch key chain and a brochure. They had to get back to Las Vegas in time for a backstage tour of the risque revue "Jubilee." With any luck, they might get to interview the showgirls.

All I can say is that things are getting sick these days.

They used to have career days and various explorer type programs designed to get young people interested in worthy occupations. What a sick world we live in today!

Belarus workers move bones from Jewish cemetery to dump
By The Associated Press
13/04/2008

Workers rebuilding a sports stadium on the site of an 18th century Jewish cemetery in Belarus say they have no choice but to consign the bones to city dumps.

"It's impossible to pack an entire cemetery into sacks," said worker Mikhail Gubets, adding that he stopped counting the skulls when the number went over 100.

But critics say it's part of a pattern of callous indifference toward Belarus' Jewish heritage that was prevalent when the country was a Soviet republic and hasn't changed.

The stadium in Gomel, Belarus' second largest city and a center of Jewish life until World War II, is one of four that were built on top of Jewish cemeteries around the country.

The Gomel cemetery was destroyed when the stadium was built in 1961, but the remains lay largely undisturbed until this spring when reconstruction began and a bulldozer turned up the first bones.

A Jewish leader in Gomel, Vladimir Gershanok, says he asked the builders to put the bones into sacks for reburial at a cemetery that has a monument to Holocaust victims.

"We know we can't stop the construction but we're trying to minimize the
destruction," Gershanok said.

But city authorities have ruled that the construction can go ahead because the bones are more than 50 years old.

Igor Poluyan, the city official responsible for building sports facilities, says he doesn't understand the problem. "If something was scattered there, we'll collect it and take it away," he said.

A history professor, Yevgeny Malikov, sees the cemetery as part of the city's heritage. He has filled three sacks with bones and pulled aside two of the unearthed marble gravestones. Other gravestones are piled near a trash bin or already carried away. Some of the bones have been carried off by stray dogs.

"The history of the city is being thrown into the dump together with the human remains," Malikov said.

Jews began settling in Gomel in the 16th century and by the end of the 19th century made up more than half of the population. In 1903, they made history by being the first to resist a pogrom, defending 26 synagogues and prayer houses.

Most of Gomel's 40,000 Jews managed to flee before the Nazis arrived. The
4,000 who remained were shot in November 1941. Only a few thousand Jews now live in the city of 500,000.

Oleg Korzhuyev, 38, who lives on Karl Marx Street at the edge of the site, said the workers aren't happy about digging up human bones, but if they find a gold tooth then it's a real celebration.

Another city, Grodno, experienced a similar problem while reconstructing a stadium built on a Jewish cemetery. The excavated earth and bones were
scattered into a ravine.

Jewish graves also have been disturbed in neighboring Ukraine.

"It's not just a Jewish issue, it's this general Soviet legacy," said Ukraine's chief rabbi, Yakov Blaikh. They didn't respect people while they were alive and they don't respect them when they are dead.

This month, the Jewish community in the city of Vinnyntsa was able to stop construction of an apartment building on a pre-World War II Jewish cemetery.

Ukrainian authorities apologized, saying they did not realize the construction would affect the cemetery. Belarus, on the other hand, has been one of the least responsive countries on all Jewish issues, according to Efraim Zuroff, director of the Israeli Simon Wiesenthal Center.

"The government is simply erasing Jewish history from the face of this land," said Yakov Basin, vice president of the Belarusian Jewish Council.

Before the war, about 1 million Jews lived in Belarus and 800,000 of them died in the Holocaust. Today they number 27,000 in the country of 10 million.

Belarus' president, Alexander Lukashenko, has shown little respect for Jewish culture. In a radio broadcast in October that provoked a sharp protest from the Israeli government, he suggested that when Jews were numerous in another town, Bobruisk, they turned it into a pigsty.

"You know how Jews treat the place where they live. Look at Israel; I was there," he said.

This is all part of the effort to entirely eliminate all signs of Israel around the world. I wish they could have transported the bones to Israel.

Holding back military resupply is an old trick.

Fortunately, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and her Department of State team have gone a bit too far and exposed their hand.

'Coincidentally,' just after Rice’s team left, it was revealed that America will hold back military resupply to Israel 'until Israel needs it.' This would ostensibly save Israel billions of dollars in storage costs for equipment and weapons 'it may never use.'

Holding back military resupply is an old State Department tactic, used best by Henry Kissinger in the 1973 Yom Kippur War, to ensure that Israel would be "more flexible" when she was forced into post-war negotiations. I remember hearing that Kissinger said: 'Let Israel bleed a little. She’ll give up more in negotiations if she bleeds a little.' Kissinger’s deliberate delay of resupplying Israel until the eighth day of the war led to many needless deaths and endangered Israel severely.

So, on top of the State Department making Israel remove roadblocks in order to give terrorists greater freedom of movement - with more Israelis dead - they also want Israel to incur greater casualties in any upcoming war. Like Kissinger, the State Department and Rice want "Israel to bleed a little" - or a lot.

We can’t help but notice how this comes together nicely with the $60 billion-plus dollars worth of American arms that have been supplied to Egypt in the years since the Camp David Accords. Don’t forget the hundreds of thousands of American tax-payers’ dollars that have gone to Fatah, under Mahmoud Abbas, for weapons - only to be captured by Hamas as soon as they took over Gaza. Remember that George Bush connived with Ariel Sharon and Ehud Olmert to surrender and evict 10,000 men, women and children from Gush Katif in Gaza; that gave Hamas the terrorist base they needed. Those 21 Jewish communities in Gush Katif were being attacked mercilessly - as is Sderot now - but they were protecting the rest of southern Israel.

The billions to Egypt and millions to the Palestinian Authority continued apace and grew exponentially during the eight Bush-Rice years (Rice was first National Security Advisor and now is Secretary of State). Egypt will have top quality tanks, planes and missiles ready to attack Israel. Why Israel? Israel is Egypt’s only enemy. Why else would Egypt be preparing for war? Egypt has become the military colossus of the Middle East and is now negotiating with Vladimir Putin of Russia to build a nuclear power plant, as Russia did for Iran. One to start with; more to follow.

Egypt has made no secret of its aim to achieve military parity with the Jewish State and to have a regional military projection capability. Cairo has acquired new and more powerful weapons systems, including surface-to-surface missiles, from China and North Korea, WMD capability, fighter aircraft, attack helicopters, naval vessels and, of course, tanks. With no country threatening its borders, only Israel appears to be the likely target of the Egyptian build-up. Some may recall during a prior US administration, while Secretary of Defense William Cohen was observing Operation "Bright Star" (joint military games with US and Egyptian troops), a high-ranking Egyptian general said: "We are preparing for war with Israel."

Of course, resupply takes time, even under the best of circumstances. Egypt will have top quality tanks, planes and missiles ready to attack, while Israel is waiting for American supplies. With 40,000 enemy missiles now in Hizbullah inventory, poised to hit Israel, flights will be delayed. Runways may be hit. America may not want to sent her cargo jets into enemy fire. The State Department may relish the idea of letting Israel "sweat it out."

The State Department and Ms. Rice have shown themselves to be hostile entities when it comes to Israel. It is beneficial for Israel and her friends around the world to know this. Congress may find it necessary to launch an investigation into the State Department’s inner strategy towards Israel.

However, there is another benefit that can come from this. As we proposed in the past, America should build giant prepositioning warehouses in Israel. These will be under American ownership until they are released for either Israel’s use or American resupply to one of the American theaters of war in time of emergency. Having a resupply depot in the Middle East, secured by the Israelis, can be very useful in the volatile Middle East.

I grieve for Israel and for our own country which seems determined to bring judgment on itself but this is my opinion. I'm afraid, it's only a matter of time.............
