Oh God, if you hated, or even loved the Left Behind Series, Right Behind: A Parody of Last Days Goofiness, Authored by Nathan D. Wilson, and Mr. Spock, the world-famous end-times expert and cotton-polyester sock puppet, is your kind of thing. A friend told me to read it, I did. He said I would read it in one sitting, I did that, too. With Monty Python insanity, the Saturday Night Live satire, and only 105 pages, it is GREAT! This is a MUST READ for everyone. I'm getting the Sequal "Supergeddon: A Really Big Geddon" next!

Is Right Behind written by a Christian? Seems a little strange to write a satire of the end times prophecies...

Yeah, he is a Christian. But the Left Behind Series isn't exactly Holy Canon, and the theology in it isn't the set in stone Bible truth.
And even if it is, he doesn't attack the rapture very much (because he is much kinder then I). He attacks Evangelicalism, as an evangelical him self. He also spend MUCH time thrashing the writting ablities of Left Behind co-authors, and other books in the Genre. And the parodied charactors are just great. Buff, the Journalist and ghost writer for endtimes novels. Cheo, short for Cheopatra, the rebellous girl who magical realizes she loves her familly when they are raptured. Ol' Nick, the wanta-be Anti-Christ, who fakes the rapture to stop the real rapture.
It is a great book, really.

Yeah, I think it is your kind of book, Sapph. They have some great quotes. Buff, on getting sued by the laHaye/Jenkins camp: “…besides, if they wanted to sue us, they’ll have a lot more then just your name to be angry about. They will probably think that we are attacking Christianity itself, when we are actually only mocking their particular Muppet version of it” Narrator, on why the heathens who make up the main characters of Left behind and Right Behind don’t drink: “Buff wasn’t much of a drinker. In reality, he would have been, but because of the Evangelical content of this story, he couldn’t hold his liquor” Buford, on Christian knickknacks: “I guess you don’t have to be an Evangelical in order to lack an aesthetic compass”

I have a difficult time taking Left Behind too awfully seriously. But still, it's by the foolishness of the world that the gospel comes. And the message, or at least part of it, IS there?? Shut up, A4C. Um, Sapph, I thot you were spelling that "shuddup".

What does Shut up A4C mean?
Shut up = Don't talk/post. A4C = Ambassador4Christ
Therefore, when put together:
Shut up A4C = Don't talk/post, Ambassador4Christ.
It's really quite simple.

A4C's only post in this thread wasn't enlightening at all...in fact, I think I'm dumber from reading it.
