Shanghai Co-operation Organisation. A relatively new (’96) emerging power bloc, led by China & Russia & some Central Asian States; with Iran & some others, being given only ‘Observer Status’ at present. Just by size & population very significant! Is anti-USA in theory.
Arab League, a grouping of 22 Arab nations, in the Middle East. (Part only of the OIC).

Association of South East Asian Nations, (ASEAN)
Significant leader is Lee Kuan Yew, ex-president of Singapore, a very capable politician. Ten Countries involved; Australia, N.Z., China, South Korea, Indonesia [World’s largest Muslim nation], Philippines, Japan, & other Island nations. Linked at present by Trade. A powerful grouping as it includes China, with a population of over 1 billion!
Europe Union. A gradual re-uniting of the many nations in this continent, which was once unified by religious affiliation to the Catholic Empire, then disintegrated into many separate nation states, before and after the Second World War. It is now emerging as a counter to the United States of America, with its own currency & partially accepted Constitution.
