i am thinking of eph 2:8
I think it says God gives salvation
did God give FAITH?

Eph 2:8  For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

For by grace are we saved. It is the grace of God not by any works that we may do. It is His gift to all that have faith. What is faith? It is not a works it is believing in Him that gives us this faith, the hope that we have of the promises that He has made to us.


Rom 3:27  Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
Rom 3:28  Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Heb 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Gal 3:22  But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

Everything good comes from God, and that includes faith.

Rom 10:17  So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The word is God John 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

to believe is a act of the will
 John 3:16 Whosoever believes in Him..(His only begotten Son Jesus Christ) it is  a choice it is a choice that God the Almighty Father give to all humans, in order  to enter His kingdom( saved by grace of His Son Blood Atonement( upon the will of your deep conviction (your belief through your faith and you become one)and one with Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God ..    and that was Gods Divine plan and Intervention.

by the way there is all kind of faith, faith in this ..faith in that and that.
but us  Called by his name ,us Christians believe in Jesus Christ .¸

Great verse, great question!

This verse shows us that not only does God love us so much that we are given grace to be saved, but that we are 
also given the very faith it takes to receive that grace.

Paul wrote and said that every man is given a measure of faith wherewith he might be saved. Romans say faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

We are shown here once again the unending mercy and love of God, giving us both the grace, and the faith to receive said grace. THIS IS TRUE MERCY!
