Iran, Russia to cooperate in boosting border security

The First Deputy Director General of Russian Federal Security and Border Services Viktor Shlyakhtin said here
Thursday that cooperation between Iran and Russia will boost security in common borderlines.Shlyakhtin, who is Iran to inspect joint projects on the border areas of Sistan-Baluchestan province and Afghanistan and Pakistan, said that the measures are extensive in scale on the border areas.
Pointing to visits paid by the Russian delegation during its two-day stay in Iran, he noted that Iran has spent high amount of energy and voluminous work on the project.
The Russian official said that his country is eager to use Iran's experience in guaranteeing and maintaining security on borders. He said Russia is ready to put its related experience at Iran's disposal too.
He also called for continued cooperation between Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and Iran's Interior Ministry in maintaining security of borders.Referring to the fact that the Russian delegation, comprising six officials, is in Iran for the first time, he said,
