Activist upset at Thompson’s choice of campaign manager

An Arab Christian and staunch critic of Islam says she cannot support Fred Thompson, if the former Tennessee senator enters the presidential race.

Recently Thompson's communication director announced that former Michigan senator and U.S. Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham has joined Thompson's team in a major role that would be considered campaign manager.

Brigitte Gabriel is founder and president of the American Congress for Truth. She says as a senator, Abraham was a water-carrier for extremist Islamic groups. She says Abraham opposed profiling of Arabs and the use of secret evidence against Muslims, and he attempted to repeal the Clinton counterterrorism package.

“He refused to fund computer tracking of students and other foreign aliens, giving millions in our tax money right to Hezbollah. And he is the one who put Council on American-Islamic Relations on the map on Capitol Hill," says Gabriel.

Gabriel says this is not someone Fred Thompson should pick to run his campaign.

"How can we support a guy like Fred Thompson who picked this man to head up his team?” she asks. “Either Thompson is clueless about Abraham, which should immediately disqualify him for the White House, and frighten all of us about how he makes decisions, or he knows about Abraham and went with him anyway."

Thompson, who has not yet officially entered the race, reportedly might make a formal announcement around Labor Day.

CAIR has been in the White House many times. They have used a Capitol conference room for a seminar that was arranged by a leading republican and have been endorsed by President Bush and Nancy Pelosi as being a group of "peace" even while the leaders of CAIR have been caught preaching against the U.S., endorsing the implementation of sharia law in the U.S. and supporting known terrorists. In fact several of their leaders have been charged and convicted of supporting terrorism and one of CAIRs main supporters is the Whabbist, a Saudi based radical ilamist group.

Yes we will be seeing much more of CAIR getting involved in our government.

This is very disappointing, and it will be almost impossible for me to believe that he knew nothing about the connection. He would have to be out of his mind to do something like this. Surely he knows that this story will get out. SO, can he imagine what Christians will think and how they will react?

I'll watch this for awhile and make sure it's true. If so, I'll have to mark another one off my list to consider.
