Apologetics re Jewish people
«
on:

Just wondering if anyone here is "in-depth" knowledgeable about answering a Jewish gal in Israel via a forum (Cpals.net). I know the OT messianic prophecies, etc...so I am not meaning that (have answered her on that several months ago). This gal really researches deep into the Jewish and Christian beliefs, so a seminary student or graduate would really be ideal in answering her....or a lay person that can go deeper with her in defending our faith. (I am not a debater.)
If any of you are interested, her posts are under Names of God (Elohim) at Cpals.net. We do keep a civil tone there and Abby seems to like the forum there. Thanks.

I am pretty busy right now with many things going on here at home but I would be glad to help if I can and when I can get a few minutes time to do so.

That would be wonderful Pastor Roger, whenever you have the time. I understand you are very busy and I do not want you to feel under any pressure about it.
One lady (Lessa4) does try to answer Abby, but some of Abby's questions or critical remarks about Christianity require some research and Lessa says she really has to research to answer Abby. Abby does
not
post all of the time (so you would
not
be swamped with posts to answer). I think Abby does alot of research and then posts after a few weeks in reply.
Thanks again for any help at all.

I finally got registered there. Yes, she does do a lot of researching but it is obvious that she has difficulties even following the jewish bible. There is a lot to assimilate in her writings and may take quite some time for me to respond to her. Her concepts of even the portion of the Bible that she accepts is the reason that the Jews rejected Jesus from the very start.

Thanks again, Pastor Roger for posting to Abby. She will probably raise her objections again to the OT Messianic prophecies, but this time you can help her since you are more knowledgable in the Scriptures, including the original Hebrew. (She would sometimes use original Hebrew to try to say words weren't translated right, etc.)

I'll be ready when she does. The verses that I gave her in the Tenach are accepted by the majority of Rabbi's as being the prophecy of the coming Messiah. She may try to deny that but I will be ready if she does.

Pastor Roger, it looks like Abby will be posting a reply to you and me soon. I am glad that you are helping to answer her, thanks so much.

Unfortunately she is like most of the Jews ... she is blind to the truth and has no desire to see the truth. I pray that the Lord will open her eyes for He is the only one that can do so.

Amen, so true.
Hopefully, our answers will help someone else that is reading that topic.
Btw, I mentioned keeping a polite manner to Abby because in her much, much earlier posts, she would get very offensive against/about Christ. We had to edit out some material in her posts and the administrator told her she had to stop that. It was not pleasant at all dealing with her back then.

Don't be so harsh and don't hinder.
Is she blind? Yes
Does she have desire? Only God knows for sure
You can't expect her to convert right away. Keep encouraging her. Answer her questions, no matter how many times she asks.

Being truthful sometimes is harsh. Hindering would be to not tell the truth. Yes, it should be done in a loving manner. As for questions, so far I haven't seen any questions. All that I have seen is the refuting of God's word. That is why I said that she has no desire to seek the truth. I will simply say that with God's help that I will continue to give her God's word.

Brothers and Sisters,
There isn't anything new here at all. Most Jewish people have been either defensive or offensive about rejecting JESUS CHRIST for 2,000 years. The same questions have been asked and answered for 2,000 years also, and nothing has changed.
The blunt truth is that not much will change until the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF - IN PERSON - will literally save the Jews from total annihilation, and Israel will finally see and believe the truth. There is no irony that Israel rejected their anointed KING and MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST. However, one of GOD'S Promises is that HE will claim that THRONE and restore Israel. All will bow before HIM and finally know.
NOW, think of this in a different way. I realize this COULD NOT have happened because of what was already written in GOD'S WORD at the time CHRIST walked this earth, but let's change history. What would have happened had Israel accepted JESUS CHRIST completely as KING and MESSIAH? Wouldn't it have been the KINGDOM AGE right then? Would JESUS CHRIST have gone to the CROSS? Would the GOSPEL of the GRACE OF GOD ever been given to the Gentiles? After all, Gentiles were unclean and not worthy of sharing the things of GOD at that time.
Disclaimer: I fully realize that GOD knew all before the foundation of the world and JESUS CHRIST would sacrifice Himself on the CROSS for all mankind, including the Gentiles. So, what are we left to say?
Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable GIFT, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour Forever!
In terms of the questions by the Jews, they have been answered countless times, and the answers are in writing all over the world. I do find it ironic that complete rejection has gone on so long now that many Jews don't even know how to ask the questions, nor do they understand their own material that they base their rejection on. GOD said that Israel would be blinded in part because of their rejection of JESUS CHRIST 2,000 years ago, and that's a promise that GOD kept. This doesn't hint that Jews can't be Saved and accept JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOUR. We all know Jewish Christians, but we probably don't know how difficult things are for them. Those who accept JESUS CHRIST have been and are disowned by their families and worse. For many Jewish believers, they are considered to have never been born or dead - shunned completely - and worse.
Love In Christ,
Tom

Yes, this is true Pastor Roger....that is why I have asked for some help with Abby as many "guests" read that topic. (Also, about being polite, I
wasn't
meaning you...but Abby.) She has been at that forum for a couple of years now....the few questions she had now and then were buried in tons of other writing scattered throughout her posts. I am hoping when she responds, we can try to refute her typical answers. I think she is a Jew that has only recently "come back" to Judaism as she does alot of research before answering us.
