Folger labels Christian activists who interrupted Senate Hindu prayer as 'heroes'

A well-known conservative Christian commentator says the U.S. Senate turned its back on God last week when it officially allowed the first Hindu prayer to be uttered aloud in the chamber.

Janet Folger of Faith2Action ministry says people are free to pray to a tree or anything else they choose in the U.S., but that it is much different when the government gives its stamp of approval to a prayer to false gods. Folger says unless people sing "gods Bless America," they should let their senators know they disapproved of the Hindu prayer.

"If you look and see what God's position is on idolatry, he's not fond of it, to put it lightly," says the Christian activist. "And what we've got to do is side with where God is on this -- and he is not for praying to millions of false gods on the floor of the United States Senate, which incidentally was followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to one nation under God."

Folger says the three Christian activists who were arrested for disrupting the Hindu prayer "are heroes and history will show them as such." Ante Pavkovic, his wife, and his 19-year-old daughter were arrested and charged with misdemeanor unlawful conduct.

Folger says even though the three knowingly broke the law, they are "heroes" for protesting what she calls "an abomination."

"When I saw that, I had hope for America," Foger states. "That comment, those stands of those very bold people -- he and his wife and his daughter -- I believe may be what spares us from the judgment of God. You may have noticed that God's not real fond of idolatry."

Continuing, Folger says "if you look in the Bible, what you see is that's what tests, that's why kings were taken out, that's why the Israelites were taken in captivity. Idolatry is the reason why it made the First Commandment: Thou shalt have no other gods before him."

Folger says she doubts critics of the Pavkovics would say that Martin Luther King, Jr. was wrong to participate in acts of civil disobedience during the civil rights movement.

I'm not sure about them being "heroes" but rather just being good Christians. However, what better heroes to have than someone that is not afraid to stand up and speak out for Jesus Christ.

I am proud of them for having the courage to stand up for what they believe in regardless of the outcome. Standing up for the Lord, is the true mark of a Christian.  Use of a Hindu prayer in our Senate is further proof of the loss of in God We Trust, and the proof that Satan has a strong hold on our government officials.
