Today...many put the talent before the Word and when there is no fame with it...they switch to secular..then you have the secular who can't find fame until they become a "Christian artist"...Songs that mention Jesus once not to offend anyone at a concert...then you have the songs that never mention Jesus at all...Music without any melody..each one competing against the other...Promotion and label are a must...and the worst of all is very few are scripturally sound...Those chosen to lead music were to be skilled in the word...by doing so..it pleases God and ministers to those who hear it...The music was never intended to be over the preaching of the word...In this there was no conflict as to whether the music was appropriate or not...as through knowing the word and through prayer the Spirit leads and when the Spirit leads it is always appropriate...as it pleases God and minsisters encouragement to the body and not the singer or musician...
