Afraid to become a Christian because others will judge you? It is God that we must please not other people. You yourself admit that the lifestyle that you are living is a sin. You are at the first step right now, to realize that we are all sinners and doomed to spend an eternity in hell. The next is to believe in Jesus Christ, that he died on the cross in our place, to carry the sins that are inherent in us all, that he arose from the grave and is now in heaven making a place for those that accept Him as their Saviour.

This is not a one time event that lasts for a moment. This is a life time commitment to Jesus Christ. The desire to serve Him and to follow Him, not the things of this world.

May God Lead And Guide Us All

Hello Libby,

WELCOME!

Sister, I would simply say that GOD has a right path for all of us, and we all have a past with sin. JESUS CHRIST paid it all for us on the CROSS, and HIS hands are reaching out to us to rescue us from the curse of sin and death.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy the forum. It sounds like you are considering becoming a Christian, so I want to share some favorite portions of Scripture with you. We all have a desperate need for JESUS CHRIST and forgiveness.

GOOD NEWS!

1:  Romans 3:10 NASB  as it is written, "THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS, NOT EVEN ONE; THERE IS NONE WHO UNDERSTANDS, THERE IS NONE WHO SEEKS FOR GOD; ALL HAVE TURNED ASIDE, TOGETHER THEY HAVE BECOME USELESS; THERE IS NONE WHO DOES GOOD, THERE IS NOT EVEN ONE."

2:  Romans 3:23  NASB  for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

3:  Romans 5:12  NASB  Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned--

4:  Romans 6:23  NASB  For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

5:  Romans 1:18  NASB  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

6:  Romans 3:20  NASB  because by the works of the Law no flesh will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes the knowledge of sin.

7:  Romans 3:27  NASB  Where then is boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

8:  Romans 5:8-9  NASB  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.

9:  Romans 2:4  NASB  Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?

10:  Romans 3:22  NASB  even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction;

11:  Romans 3:28  NASB  For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

12:  Romans 10:9  NASB  that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

13:  Romans 4:21  NASB  and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.

14:  Romans 4:24 NASB  but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,

15:  Romans 5:1  NASB  Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

16:  Romans 10:10  NASB  for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

17:  Romans 10:13  NASB  for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED."

Thanks be unto GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT!, JESUS CHRIST, our Lord and Saviour forever!

Hello Libby, and welcome to Christians Unite forum.

What Pastor Roger and blackeyedpeas said I agree with. As for being afraid, look what the Bible says.............

Psalm 34:4 I sought (inquired of) the Lord and required Him [of necessity and on the authority of His Word], and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Matthew 10:28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell

2 Timothy 1:7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.

Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!] 6 So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?

Libby, Welcome to Christians Unite!   I do not believe you found us by chance.  I believe the Lord has brought you to this site to assist in your spiritual growth.  None of us are in a position to judge....only God.  We are ALL sinners saved by grace, so don't expect perfection from yourself.  I can't count the number of times I have fallen.  However, the good news is, EACH time I have fallen, Jesus has picked me up.

Satan does not want you to give your life to the Lord and receive salvation.  He will fill your head with many lies in an attempt to confuse and discourage.  Don't be fooled.  Jesus will accept you as you are. We at Christians Unite, will also accept you.  We are here to offer encouragement to each other, and to share the truth of the Word of God.  Open your heart and allow Jesus to come in.  I can guarantee, you will not regret it.

I look forward to fellowshipping with you.

Hi Libby! Smiley

It's wonderful to have you here.  Your honesty is refreshing!

So many have written so much good stuff!

We have to have a thirst or a desire to want to seek Him out, and you express this desire!  Amen!

I would suggest maybe printing this thread so you can keep a reference to all so many have written!:)

We are not here to judge, but to help spread the Word and to see other saved and truly set free in the Lord!

You can be saved and have a new life in Him, despite experiencing mental illness and/or a personality disorder.  He can give you the strength to face whatever you must face in life.

Learning to "rest in Him" can help with depression and anxieties.  It can also help with personality disorders.  He can give you hope and help! Grin

I have seen this happen for many people with the same/very similar challenges you have.

Print this thread if you have a printer and study all that people have written.  If you have a Bible, highlight the verses people have mentioned here and meditate upon them!

Fortunately, some loving individuals had written out the verses for you for easy reference and Incas you do not have a Bible.

If you do not have a Bible and need on, I am sure people can help you find one reasonably priced, if you make your need known!

Please continue to join us here!  None of us is perfect!  We are all just trying to help one another!

Have a blessed day in Him! Grin

Hello, I offer you a hardy welcome to the forum. You have been given some good solid direction in the above posts. We are all sinners and have fallen short, but in being a Christian we must strive to do God's will. No one says it will be easy. When we fall off the path it is then time to repent and ask for forgiveness in prayer, then climb back upon the path and keep going trying our best to keep God's laws and the promice of salvation in our heart and mind.
I look forward to reading your posts.
