Worldly wisdom vs. Christ Crucified

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this
age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in
the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased
God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who
believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we
preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks
foolishness (1Cor 1:20-23)

But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God,
for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are
spiritually discerned. (1Cor 2:14)

For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and
Him crucified. (1Cor 2:2)

Amen to that.

It just about makes me cry when I sit back and watch the world go by...and I see the destructive path that it is going down.  And I am thankful every day that Christ has opened my eyes to that.

Hello Brother Jerry,

I was struck in the same way with this short and blunt devotion. Much of the world is in a big hurry to destruction. I give thanks that my entire family is SAVED, but that doesn't lessen the burden I feel for many others. People are still accepting CHRIST as SAVIOUR, so we can pray that the HOLY SPIRIT softens the hearts of the lost and many more accept HIM before it's too late. May GOD lead and guide all of us for HIS Purpose.

Love In Christ,
Tom

Hebrews 4:16 NASB  Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Bep you reminded me that I had forgotten to pass out.

My youngest one (7 yrs) accepted Jesus this past Wednesday.

I was so happy.  And proud to sit down and show him my prayer book which has a page of people in need of salvation.  And I was able to put the date down and cross that prayer from my book.

AMEN1

Brother Jerry that is great news. It is always warming and a reason to celebrate to hear of children accepting Christ as their Saviour. When it is your own it is definitely a special event worth remembering and rejoicing over.

Praise God!

ANOTHER BIG AMEN BROTHER JERRY!

This is a wonderful event in a Christian family, one that should put a smile on your face for a good long time.

Love In Christ,
Tom
