Symph: maybe you never noticed but english is not my native language, and when one can speak read and write more then 7 languages* I sometimes have the tendency to translate my native(Dutch) or close-to-native language (Afrikaans) to the other language....

I only speak one language, and I have enough trouble with it!

Are your multilingual skills work-connected?  I was just wondering.  

Last time I heard of someone speaking that many, was a professor one of the posters here had--"Broken", awhile back.  I think he was a professor in Egyptology?  Can't remember.

My language skills are not work related, it comes with the territory; Europe.

Japanese excluded though; that's a hobby of mine A lot of Dutch people speak 4 or more languages.
